Their last match was tight, Andy winning in 2 but having to come from 1-6 down in first set tie break.
The Very Best of Luck Andy!!!:thumbup:
He's on last, after Novak's match.
The Djokovic match is not before 2pm our time so I've changed the thread title to "3.30pm?". Obviously if any of the previous matches go long, it could be later.
All the very best of luck, Andy

Verdasco has just taken the first set off Djoko, who looks well off form....
The second set has gone to a tie break.

'nando had match point at *6-4 but muffed it. Djoko serving *5-6.
Nando should have won this!!!! One set all now
Verdasco had five set points and, somehow, threw them away by choking. Now one set all.

Djokovic making sure Andy's match will be a late one today before tomorrow's final.
:knight: come on Andy!! :GBflag:
Quality rallies to start the match. 1-0
And they continued in the second game. 1-1

Yes, Andy playing well - particularly good length of shot - but needs to at the moment as Tomas seems to be trying to play patiently. The difference so far is Andy benefitting from his opponents UEs, but has to remain attentive. A break would be nice... C'mon Andy!

Crafty Andy breaks Berdych's serve.
Big serving & a comfortable hold. 4-1

First set to Andy 6 - 3 :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
Berdych is playing well but Andy's moving so well he has an answer to his depth and power.
What a good time to come back from the park:-)
well, first set andy 6-3, but twice had set point on tomas' serve, which wd have let him serve first in set 2. hope that won't come back to bite him.

I think coaches could show that as a model set in how a number 1 player takes away any danger from a potentially dangerous opponent. Immaculate. Focused. Clear game plan executed so well! No let up now. C'mon Andy!
Come on Berdych, think of the AO and retire. My nerves would welcome it.
Trainer's solution is to strap an already heavily strapped ankle.
Clearly strapping on strapping works. :p 0-1
Clearly strapping on strapping works. :p 0-1isn't that official LTA policy for developing British tennis
Df - that wasn't in the script.
Back to deuce - c'mon Andy!
close it oot andy

Thank goodness for that - well held, Andy.
Great hold, hopefully that's the dip over. 1-1

First set Andy's superiority shone through with Berdy if anything flattered in scoreline, tough opening service in 2nd but stepped up and now breaks-going well!
I feel another final coming on.
kitkat, here we go again - tho andy made a real meal of holding his own serve.
andy to serve at 2-1
Andy's gifted Berdy that break point.
well, tictac, hands the break straight back, tomas at 2-2

Mmm.. first time Tomas will have some positive confidence, which he tends to thrive on. Let's see. C'mon Andy! ;)
Now Berdy is handing out the gifts. Easy hold now Andy please.
playing like girls? another break, andy now at 3-2
Great serve at deuce, great 2nd serve at game point. 4-2
listening to the Newsquiz, radio 4, andy to serve at 4-3, maintaining his lead
Good hold, Berdych playing as well as he has all match. 5-3
steady as she goes, tomas at 3-5, c'mon andy
Not too far to go now Andy...
OK, andy to serve it out at 5-4, no worries!?*
Just a safe hold Andy - no surprises please.
Andy wins the second set and the match 6 - 3, 6 - 4 - well done :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::yahoo::yahoo:: yahoo::dance::dance::dance: Well played, Andy!

A champions performance! :boogie::boogie::boogie: Andy plays his best tennis against the higher ranked players.
0-15, 15 all, ace 30-15, winner 40-15, 40-30, deuce, adv,WIN, tomas put it in the net, 2 sets, 6-3, 6-4, 1hr 14
And the Master does it again :worship:
I almost feel sorry for Berdych. He must be feeling like Tsonga.

Apart from anything else that is happening at the moment with our boy, I think Tomas is not Andy's favourite player and that needle is there and makes sure Andy does not give him enough hope! Well done Andy! :) Excellent energy saving for tomorrow by Andy!

Overall Andy very convincing today and was also a step ahead of Berdy, some resistance but was never truly in the hunt. Sure Murray can get the better of Djokovic again, come on! :cheer::cheer::clap::clap:
Record breaking Andy into another final.
Wow, another record broken - only player to reach Doha final 4 times in 25 years!
I wish I was as professional as Andy and able to put the Verdasco fiasco out of my mind. ;)
That was much better. Berdych seems to have changed his game a little
Only 20 hours to go.......
Go for it Andy!!!!
how many wins in streak so far? apparently andy is the first player to reach the final 4 times

Andy's looking exactly what he is - the best player in the world  Well played Tomas too, movement much improvement and hitting much better shots on the run

Much better today, just needs to repeat it tomorrow for a convincing win
Well done Andy!
:cheer::cheer:
Am I right that because Murray isn't defending any points in this tournament, regardless of what happens to Orr the gap ibetween them has increased. Murray has gained points whereas Djokovic is just treading water.?
Yes I think so. So even if Nole wins Andy will be 780 points ahead!
yes your basically allowed six other countables Andy has three( overly simplified)
Very assured performance from Andy today, even accounting for Tomas being much calmer and moving better than I can remember. Same again tomorrow please, Andy.

I am in Australia at the moment and the only tennis they are showing is the Hopman cup with the occasional report on Brisbane so relying on you guys to keep me in the loop.
Do wish I could see that final.

Pretty impressive today, not perfect but perhaps as good as could be expected in the first tournament of the new year.

Slightly OT but are the Australians mostly pro Krygios or anti?
