C'mon Andy! Safe holds and a break or a TB and you are off court in twenty - thirty minutes tops. Don't let him back in. Please.
Good hold, Q in "nothing to lose" mode. 3-3
Well held - now go for the jugular.
Good hold
Now push for the opportunities

Dan said he found the sun difficult with Cilics shots and came back in to the match once the court was out of sunlight. He must have told Andy to stay on court until the shade covers the court! ;)
C'mon Andy!
"King of the Lobs". 40-30
Little glimmer

Frustrating call. :grrr: 3-4
M.Zverev awaits the winner in the 4th round.
"It was a bad mistake, you've got to do better than this" Andy to the umpire at the changeover.
M.Zverev awaits the winner in the 4th round.
Has Andy every played Mischa?
sam holds, but andy put in an amazing down the line shot, and 2 great lobs.
to serve at 3-4, half the court in shade, andy playing too cautiously i think
Has Andy every played Mischa?
He beat him in Munich on clay in 2015.
Andy's gone off the boil just a little and it has definitely give Sam his second wind.
Still got a third round match to win first
Now would be perfect time to break

Can't believe querrey missed that
oops! I hope that doesn't come back to haunt him.
Brilliant.....Andy wins the match....very well done :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
Really excellent match from Andy:dance:
Brilliant performance from Andy.  Great match to watch.
:dance::dance::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::clap::c lap::clap: Apart from a little lapse in the middle of the third set, that was a great performance from Andy. Some of his defending was out of this world.

Class! Whatever anybody says, Andy was under a lot of scrutiny today after Nole's early exit. That was the response of the world number one. Class! Well done Andy!
Considering the extra pressure and expectation heaped on Andy since noles departure that was a great performance

Screen reminding us that 9th straight year in the 4th round at AO!
Andy obviously really does enjoy the atmosphere on Hisense - I take back all I said. Over to you Danny boy.

Brilliant win, well done Andy:dance::dance:
Added bonus I can grap an hours kip
Terrible tragedy earlier in Melbourne when someone deliberately drove into pedestrians killing 3 including a baby. Puts tennis in perspective.

Andy very impressive overall, once he weathered storm in initial stages seemed firmly in control and she sublime shotmaking. Only blip was dropping serving the 3rd when he had put Querrey under real pressure, however he soon regained the momentum. Well done!:clap::clap:

Related to an earlier stabbing apparently. Probably revenge attack with collateral damage
Andy has always said that defensive play (in all sports) is very underrated in response to those wanting him to be more aggressive. Certainly wasn't underrated today.
Brilliant. Watched the final game live. My only complaint about today is the thread title should be SAM v SAM.....!!!
That was one very enjoyable match. 2 games stand out to me...when Andy broke in both sets 1 and 3 to go 5-4 up each time. Some spectacular defence and shot making from Andy. He really had the big man flummoxed. A few "phew" moments in set 3, but overall a superb match from Andy and not too long on court. Stats good too. Glad the ankle didn't hamper him. Not a "shocking" performance at all, eh Andy! Well done #1!!!! :bravo::clap::clap::clap:
And now to Dan.....glad the court now in full shade!
Another milestone. :shades:

I was delighted to see this result but am very upset that my recording was on the list and I pushed through to Andy's match to get past the girls and it has just disappeared. It is not in deleted. Any ideas as it was to be the watch of the day for me and my oh

Keep a look out. The odds are high they will repeat it this afternoon. Sometimes my recordings disappear for a bit, and then reappear under a different heading.
Great news when I emerged from under the duvet this morning!

Hisense - what on earth?
So now we know!!!...

Hisense mystery solved : Murray was proposed first match on RLA or later on Hisense. Picked Hisense as finished late in previous match.
Good to see they are discussing it with him, and giving him the choice. It's what you would expect of a World No 1.

Tennis podcast theory was that fed was always gonna be night match and Stan hadn't been on yet so they had to put him on. Therefore offered Andy mca or hisense and he maybe picked hisense as it's slower to neutralise querrey
Q. Did you have any say of the scheduling of your match on Hisense? What do you make of playing on that court?
ANDY MURRAY: I got asked if I wanted to play first on on Laver or later in the day on Hisense. It's a bit strange to play the last match, the second night match, then be scheduled to play first the next round. It kind of throws off your body clock a little bit. So I asked to play later in the day.
But it's a great court to play on. Great crowd. The stadium was full before we finished our warmup on there today. Like 10:45 it was pretty much packed. Good, nice atmosphere.
Andy does sound a little irked by the original scheduling.
Fantastic performance from Andy today. I set the alarm for 4, checked phone and saw Andy wasn't on yet so went back to sleep knowing hubby's alarm goes of at 4.45 anyway so I got up then .... almost perfect timing. And double happy that Andy finished just in time for when I had to leave for work. Hoping for a night match on Sunday ....
Brilliant from Andy today. For some reason I was a bit nervous at the start of the match - probably the early morning alarm addling my brain more than usual. However, as usual once Andy settled in to the match, got a read on Sam's serve and tactics the outcome was really never going to be in doubt. Did he lose a bit of concentration early in the 3rd set? The early break seemed to make him think he was on his way and that let Sam back in momentarily, but really it was only a short delay to the inevitable result. This has all been very smooth going for the early rounds, just as it should be for the world number 1.
Just finished watching my recordings of both Andy and Dan's matches..............WOO HOO!!!!!
Fantastic win for Andy. No messing.

Well done Andy! Love the thread title! Some good news today.
Was also a bit nervous watching my recording at start, but he showed who was boss. Loved the atmosphere on Hisense where people actually seemed to be supporting him, unlike on Rod Laver. And wowed at last 2 points of game in 3rd set where Andy broke at 4-4. That's why I love this guy playing tennis and have for many years now.
