We will be lucky to get tickets for this one. Hope they are not on sale too soon as I have just paid for tickets for O2 in November.

I imagine tickets already sold out for this! I am in Gran Canaria so won't be able to go.
Nope, still some when I checked a minutes ago, some put off by the higher prices than last year

maybe not already sold out as a complete nightmare trying to find out how to get them. I like to think this means only the most dedicated and determined have been able to secure and has kept out the idiot touts!
Got mine. Extravagance but hey ho.... hope to incorporate a bit of sight seeing too
Well I have booked one of the floor tickets. I enjoyed it last year and was thinking of going to the Federer thing in Switzerland. This one will be easier to get to.
Got a ticket for this, quite a price jump for the low-level sections from last year.
Shows as sold-out on ticketmaster now but I assume they haven't released all the tickets today

Extortianate!! Seats i had last year have jumped from £85 to £150. Had to go a bit higher up this year but not up in gods.
I am here Details: 061, Row F, Seat: 288. I have got a cancelable hotel for £50 - the same one I used last year, right by Glasgow Central Station. Ticket prices astronomical, but whilst thanks to Julie G I wasn't up in the absolute Gods last year, I think a better seat adds to it. Going to Switzerland would have cost me far more. That's my logic...!!!

what hotel Teresa? I usually use one by station but it is more expensive.
The Arto hotel by the Central Station. A five minute walk to the train to the SSE Hydro. I stayed there last year. It was clean and the breakfast was ok. Where are you seated? It's very painful to admit on here, but I would like to see Federer live before he goes.

Could have got a ticket but decided not to go for it (at least not now anyway). In my view prices for the best seats are just excessive even if great cause and I may have other events to pay for in the near future.

I saw Roger at Bercy a good few years ago. Very, very enjoyable to watch, mind I did think his legs were thinner than they look on TV...just a minor thing that stuck in my mind!... eek! ..Enjoy Teresa!

Very envious of those who are going to this. Naturally Andy is the star attraction, but Fed is a total dream to watch live - have seen him several times at the O2 and he's something else. This will be an awesome event and I hope everyone who goes has a great time

This is a one off for me (At this price that is). Apart from France I think all the other DC's ties are potentially out of Europe this year, which, means I get crucified for travel insurance, I am looking at it that I am heading for yet another hip operation in the next few years, so this is a pre treat. I can't stand the man, but his tennis is a legend, so I would like to see him in action before he hangs up his racquet - mind you on current form I will probably have until the hip op after next to see him live....!!!

I will message you my seat soon - it's on the other pc. Yes, I'm happy to see Federer - it's for charity and he will help to bring in the money. I actually like to see the top names live. And Andy will get a bigger cheer which has to be good for Feddykins to hear!
I did not know the tickets had gone on sale till it was too late as I don't do Facebook, such a shame as last year was great and I would have loved to have been there again this year. Is the general thinking they will release more tickets???? And if so how do we find out in advance, does anyone know?????
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-38928854 sites like viagogo. Charging way more than face value, last year tickets were released nearer the date, this year it will most likely be the same. It says they are looking at what to do about the touting, maybe they will find a solution in time for this year's event. Touting in general really annoys me, but it's worse when it's a charity event and the touts are making way more than the charity.

Wouldn't it be great if we could all sort out who wants tickets before hand and sort it all out so we could
send these T T's where they all belong.
They reported on the Scottish news that £25 tickets were being touted for over £2,000 - shocking! I bet Andy is furious - his charity won't see any of that huge mark-up.

Cheers, Theresa, I was willing to pay up to the £113 (don't really want the gods tho we be better than nothing at all) tho the other 2 still looking for tix have a c £70 max (I know it wasn't exactly that , but that's their maximum category whatever the price was, they deffo can't do the £113 ). Will be keping eyes and ears peeled for further releases, bound to be some , it's still a good way away. Even if we end up sitting separately in different categories . Haven't lost hope yet.
@ WimbledonWestie - I will keep looking, particularly Thursday. Nothing has come up since about midday yesterday. Perhaps pm me your mobile no. I don't want to get left with tickets like I did in Ghent.
The organisers can't be surprised at the re-sale fiasco, inevitable with a mega-popular event like this.
They would have needed to use paperless ticketing or specify that an ID check would be required at the door to avoid it.

Aw thanks for the offer Theresa, so kind. I don't think they are selling any just now anyway while they check out the re sale scandal. And I have a few folk up here keeping an eye out as well so I think u are reprieved- don't want anyone ending up with extra tickets, esp at those prices. But your offer is VERY much appreciated. Love how everyone on here is always so helpful and supportive to each other.

I think it's time Viagogo were banned. Andy Murray Live isn't the only charity event getting shafted by this company.

Such a can of worms this but I think I may have the answer!
Can I first ask does anyone here believe that resale of tickets should be banned totally, or is there a fair % profit?
Charity or not?
Just playing devil's advocate that's all.
Viagogo, like it or not, is the official conduit for the resale of tix from various venues for example the O2. So maybe it's the venues that should have their wrists slapped for endorsing such practices and indeed forcing folk to go there. I asked if I could offer a WTF ticket back at the box office at the O2 a couple of years ago and was firmly pointed in the direction of the on site Viagogo office!

There are always going to be people who can't go to an event, due to unforeseen circumstances, or even just changing their minds. Reselling is not the problem. The problem is a system that allows a popular event to sell out within hours, or sometimes even minutes, with tickets appearing at a vastly inflated markup minutes later on resale sites. If people had to show ID and the specific card used to purchase the tickets on entry it would reduce it. The Football League manages it, as does Wimbledon. If there was a will to stop it it could be stopped, however I imagine too many people are profiting from ripping off the ordinary fans. £25 tickets for Andy Murray Live are being sold for 3 or 4 hundred pounds on Viagogo, not including fees. Some of the other ticketing agencies have a policy of not listing tickets for charity events.
I think it's not only us, who would like to see companies like Viagogo be banned. I read, last year, there are a few politicians who would also like to see the company banned from reselling tickets at excruciated prices. I would liked to have gone, as I like watching Bahrami play. I can only hope for a resell on the ticketmaster website.

Ticketmaster are not selling them. They don't resell tickets for charity performances. Hopefully some more will be released.

Similar sort of thing. Of course the Government backed away from making this illegal.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/article/39014819/charity-criticises-viagogo-over-ed-sheeran-ticket-sales
Yeah the Ticketmaster reselling sites are seatwave and getmein. Generally they seem more expensive than viagogo for other things but they don't seem to sell tickets for this event. They are meant to be secondary sites but a number of bands have been found out after a lot of their tickets get realised to these sites from the start without being bought and resold.
So I guess the answer to my question of resale for profit is no.
So now it's just a case of %?
So how about the government put a % cap on the profit that can be made from charity event tickets?
They already have certain tax concessions for charity donations regarding tax etc.
So why not make the rules and fine them if they break them?
As for none charity events........
I don't believe even the government could contemplate trying to stem the free market economy.
(Supply and demand) But they could make it so any event could earmark a % of sales just for resale
by registered ticket re sellers. But anyone wanting to change their mind or can't go must hand tickets
back to the event sellers and can only be resold at face value. Plus say a max of £10 extra to cover
the costs of refunding and reselling.
This would give the event organisers the ability to control the situation.
I know the touts would try to say that they have costs and try to inflate them but they could be controlled
by the set % profit including all costs.
This kind of stuff is happening all the time within the ombudsmen system in other fields.
God knows why this hasn't been sorted by now.
Unless the people who could change it are cut from the same cloth as the pond life we're discussing?
Part of the problem is that tickets are non refundable/returnable. As I said earlier the O2 wasn't interested in having my ticket back and sent me to Via gogo to offload it. They charge whatever the seller wants......they don't set the price. But they charge a percentage to the seller and yet another to the purchaser. So I offered mine for face value plus their percentage so as not to be out of pocket.
And yet, Viagogo are the official ticket resale agency for both WTF and RG. The WTF tickets are at inflated prices, but the RG tickets can only be resold at face value. I don't know why UK venues can't insist on the same - maybe there is something in French law about it. If so, we need the same law here. People do need to be able to resell tickets they can't use - maybe due to illness or whatever - and it's a pity that Wimbledon doesn't allow it.
@ Pabbers - selling tickets you find you can't use isn't the problem. The problem is when tickets are diverted directly to the resale sites. People or computers buying them in bulk is also an issue. It's these things that need to be stopped. Resales be limited to no more than 10% above face value, and that should include the fees. Viagogo are not open about their charges. You don't find out until the very end of the process. Their sales methods are dubious as well. If you go on to the site then it's constantly flashing up that tickets are about to be sold, then sold. Yet the number for sale doesn't actually change.
My ticket was £150 plus £20 charges. (I can't see how the £20 is justified, given it's an electronic ticket I will print out myself), but they were up front about the charges. The airlines used to do this, but now the price of the ticket has to include all except the completely optional charges. The whole thing is ripping off the genuine fans.
The selling of tickets via the secondary market is pretty unethical, and very easy for both promoters and touts to manipualte - and its endemic - applies to all areas where tickets for an event are scarce and there is a demand to be met. Viagogo, seatwave, getmein, etc, etc. And yet they get away with it.
There was a motion put forward to parliament maybe in January last year to try to curtail these practices - but sadly it was rejected on the grounds that it would curb entrpreneurialism.
Pretty expoitative entrepreneurialism, if you ask me!! Especially in the case of the Andy v Fed match which is for charitanble causes.
Many ticket sites now have captchkas (spelling) to try to prevent toutbot software from infiltrating their sites to hoover up desirable tickets. Not sure how effective they are.
I would say however that there is thankfully one ticket reselling site that does cater for fans - whether those wishing to sell (who cant go for whatever reason) - and those wishing to buy. The website is called Twickets, and has the blessing of many in the entertaininment industry. On that website it is not possible for anyone to sell a ticket above face value. The purchaseer might pay a fee to the site (which is fair enough - maybe 10%?) - but it's really there for fans. Tickets can be sold below face value too, so you can get yourself a fair bargain too!
Here is the website - definitely worth noting for future reference. I have used them already (mainly for music events) and it has been excellent. All payments via payPal so pretty secure too:

Assume you all know, but there are more tickets going on sale this Friday at 9am for SSE Reward members. They're doing it back to front for some reason this time as last year SSE Reward members pre sale was first. I managed to get Andy Live tickets in the pre sale last year just by signing up to Rewards via email, but for a subsequent purchase for another event at the Hydro I had to have an account number (luckily had an old one that still seemed to work).
Even though it's been sold out, SSE are offering more tickets to their members. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday.

Nigel Adams, a conservative MP, raised this subject at today's PMQs (referring to another charity event). Mrs May gave a fairly general answer - the Government is continuing to look at it - so nothing concrete but at least the subject is being kept alive!

Just got my ticket. I'll be in Section 223, Row V and Seat number 49. I didn't mind where I sat, I just wanted to be there.
Just got my tickets today also.....Section 50, row G seats 3-6. Absolutely delighted.
I don't want to give in to viagogo if tickets are extortionate but I was looking just now and some of them are being sold a bit less than the listed face value - does anyone know if the face values are checked though? 'Cause there are varying face values for tickets even in the same section I think, and some say face value £131 for ones in the upper tier!?
I wonder if any more will go on sale. When they came out I decided I'd try and go to more competitions instead but I'm changing my mind about missing this. :')

I very much doubt face values are checked - the seller of the tickets enters the face value and this probably explains why you see different amounts.
Original face value was between £25 and £150. Including fees about £30 to £175. I paid £175 for one of the floor tickets when they intitially went on sale.
Thanks yeah I was checking on ticketmaster but obviously you can't see the specific prices for the seats.

Right, I thought that might be the case! I guess I could ring the venue and find out!

From the website
Level 2 seating
£28.40 - £170.25
Level 0 seating
£175.00
Level 3 seating
£28.40
Exclusive of fees.
I would hazard a guess the sellers might be being a tad economical with the face value bit.
Yeah see I was thinking the varying level 2 prices match the website but when I saw the £150 face value for level 3 I was like, does that mean some of the others aren't true...
I need one of those seating plans they have for football where you click the seat and see how much it is.
Thanks for your help!

This website has the seating plan. There are currently non available. I will keep my eye out. I went last year and bought probably one of the last tickets right up in the Gods, because I wasn't sure if I was going. Julie then sold me one at face value that was easier access. This year I treated myself to a decent seat.
It might be worth asking if anyone has a ticket they can't use to let you know. Things change.
Oh that's nice! I had 2 in my basket that were floor seats but I was too indecisive about the price!
What was it like being really high up last time?
Thanks yeah that's an idea.
It was fine. I ended up on Level 2. Not good if you are a bit wary of heights. You can utube what the different seats are like. I literally just asked on here if anyone had a spare ticket that didn't involve an ascent to Everest base camp.
Haha! Oh OK yeah you didn't end up using the really high one. That's cool that someone had a spare. :)
I've looked at some "views from my seat" pics for level 2 and they looked decent.

Been in hydro many times...level 2 is fine! Ive got a level 2 seat 4 rows back which should be good. Personally i wouldnt go level 3 for a tennis match though.
Oh cool thanks! Yeah I'd be reluctant to go for level 3.

I had intended to watch this from the comfort of my armchair but all the chat here over the last few days has made me feel I will be missing out so I am now going! Just wanted to check with those of you who went last year - after the match was it very difficult to get taxis? I am thinking of the horrendous problems there were with the other Glasgow venue for the Davis Cup, fortunately we were on James's minibus.
Oh cool, how did you get your ticket if you don't mind me asking?

Yes. I would book one if I were you. However the train into Central Glasgow is a couple of minutes away. I found it tough with my problems with standing, as they were filtering people into the metro station, and there was a bit of queuing. Somebody ablebodied would have been fine. I just struggle with static standing. I wouldn't mind sharing a taxi at the end with other folks if they are heading back into Glasgow. We could prebook one?

Oh cool, how did you get your ticket if you don't mind me asking?
From Viagogo
I hope you'll be able to get in, Silverdee, as I've heard some events/tournaments are cracking down on ticket touts and ticket tout websites by not allowing people, who bought their tickets through them, to get in.
I've always been sceptical of buying from them but they tell you you're guaranteed a valid ticket, but I can see why they'd clamp down on it. I emailed the venue asking to verify the prices and she did without warning me off viagogo.

Tried to copy something from Facebook. Andy will still be at Andy Live in Glasgow but will not be competing again professionally until Brisbane next year.
I hope Roger goes easy on Andy! :pirate:

this answers my question on the 2017 schedule section. thanks.
Very glad I treated myself to a decent ticket this year.
Wish I could go to this and I know quite a few of you are going so it would have been a good catch up .... but it would mean 2 days holiday from work and I am running out! Have to last till end of March.

Not sure where your hotel is, but the bus from the airport to the centre of Glasgow is excellent, runs frequently & very reasonable.
I'm very envious! Have a great time :boogie:

Staying at the Devoncote hotel, looks like it is 2 buses from airport to hotel, should take approx 40mins which is fine have plenty of time to get to hotel, but coming back maybe a rush, my flight is 9.30am on Wednesday morning so may decide to take a cab:thumbup:
I am looking forward to seeing Andy play :boogie:

Cant wait for this now!!! Missing Andy so much
Me too. Cardboard Andy not quite the same!!!
Just booked my train. Decided to come back on Wed 8th after all. Predict I am going to be tired. Exhausted today, long walk in the woods with the dog, sustained by nothing more than banana and natural yoghurt has taken it out of me. Had food poisoning for 3 days. My system is suffering chocolate and coffee withdrawal.
Finally managed to get tickets with the new releases this week. Really excited for it now. Thanks Jimmyg for the heads up on the tickets!

There are about 300 tickets on viagogo starting from £125. If you are close enough why not hold out buying until 2/3 days beforehand. The prices are bound to drop significantly then. I suspected I would want to go, so I saw sense this year and bought at the time of the initial sale.

If there were any truth in it you would be able, and should, post a legitimate source. Otherwise it is hearsay and could cause un-necessary concern to other forum members.
:grrr:
I've now told the person that he told me a pack of lies, but he claimed he got it from the BBC's breakfast news. I think he must have been dreaming, at the time.

Maybe you ought to check your facts first b4 you post nonsense. I didnt believe it for a split second but others may well do & it could have been upsetting for them!!!!
