That really doesn't seem like 8 years ago, I was in Australia and was so so fed up. Amazing just how long we've all been on this forum supporting our boy.
I prefer to remember the one at Wimbledon where he came back from 2 sets down to go on and win - Nando just couldn't believe what was happening. we've certainly had some great memories.
I remember that Australian match against Verdasco too , I was so down after that loss !!
Andy's come so far since then

The Very, Very Best of Luck Andy!!!:thumbup::thumbup:
To avoid complacency given the H2H ;), let's not forget the last time Andy and Nando played which was in the 2nd round of the Paris Masters in November. At 5-5 in the third set and from 15-40 down, facing 2 BPs, Andy won the next 8 points and the match. Another crazy boneshaker. :barmy:

Wow! Fantastic! Back to where we have been used to being....Andy winning tournaments. What a long presentation ceremony...they had to wait so long before they were presented with their trophies. However, well worth it. From the very start that was a very 'shouty' match...I was roaring at the tv from a very early stage, much earlier than usual! And the look of disbelief on Nando's face when he dropped serve to go 5-3 down in the first set and then Andy promptly rubbing salt in the wound by winning a love service game and the set! In the second, Andy simply was giving Nando the run-around! Fabulous tennis from Andy. And Ali Nili with his 'relax' to the crowd! What about that! Been a great week of tennis from Dubai. Huge congrats to our very special #1 player. He deserves it! :bravo: :trophy: :worship:

It was better closer up, and I agree about the Cincinnati vase. I think my favourite is the Paris one. Felt for Verdasco. He looked a bit distraught. It's one thing losing like Kohlscreiber did, when you have given your absolute best, but Verdasco wasn't really firing today.

Once Andy got into his stride, Nando just wasn't allowed to fire. I felt sorry for him too - I like Nando - but at least he got to the final, his first for a long, long time.
Congrats Andy on another good win. Have to say that I was expecting more from Nando but I'm not complaining. I was feeling a bit sorry for the crowd for the first few games because of the error strewn play but Andy raised his level and produced some stunning shots. I've really enjoyed this tourney, having not watched it much in the past due to lack of Andy's presence/success.

I hope he gets the Aussie, but perhaps it's me, I would rather he had the Year End No 1 than the AO if he could only have had one of them. There is something about achieving something only 17 other players have achieved. Thrashing Djokovic to get it made it extra special.

So 26 different titles (plus Davis Cup for 27). I'm wondering how that compares to the other Big 3......none of them have the Olympics after all, although they do have Roland Garros and Melbourne.
I presume with Andy's schedule, he's unlikely to have the opportunity to add to that list this year apart from IW & RG.
I think Nadal has won singles gold at the Olympics - Djoko and Fed haven't though.
