View Full Version : DC GB v FRANCE 2017: LTA APPLICATION/BALLOT (13/03) AND FRENCH GENERAL SALE (14/03)
RosieBear
07-03-2017, 23:08
This thread is for discussing the LTA ballot and French general sale. Hopefully lots of members, whether they are going to Rouen or not, will be able to get online and join the scramble for tickets to help their fellow AMFFers.
People can post their strategies, ticket offers etc on here.
As posted on the other thread, I will be trying for tickets on the 13th and 14th and, if successful, will draw lots for them.
Hopefully there will be at least some offers of spare tickets, so keep an eye on this thread.
Good luck, everyone :peace:
You have to join the LTA today to get into their ballot.
Does anybody know about the french ticketmaster site - do you have to register with them before applying next Tuesday?

I have registered with them so that should help on the day. It might make things easier.

It's easy to register on the French ticket master site. You have the option of English to help.
Would it be a good idea for people who are after tickets to give some idea of how many they are after. I have registered for the French site, and am a British Tennis Member. Quite happy to help in the ticket hunt, but don't want to get lumbered with tickets like I did when I got carried away during the Ghent ticket hunt:-)

I wouldn't have thought there would be any fear of that Teresa but after Ghent I quite understand your concern. I thought it was marvellous of you to do what you did then. I am looking for 2 tickets for each day for myself and Tennisfan.

Re: DC 2017, Q/FINAL: GBR v FRA. Fan support thread - travel, hotels, dinosaurs etc
If you go on FFT site now and click on Cliquez ici it takes you through to Tickemaster site and then layout will give you an idea of what we will be faced with on Tuesday. In view of this I am going to log onto Ticketmaster French site on Tuesday having registered beforehand.

I know a lot of the murraynators and a lot from bats are also looking for tickets so if you opened it up to them as well there would be even less chance of getting caught out. We would like to get as many Brits there as possible. If anyone does end up with any spare that are not taken on here, we can email Mary pope so she can let the bats know and put it on the nators Facebook page.
I imagine the demand for LTA tickets will be higher as understandably people prefer that to sitting amongst the other sides fans. We had to do this everyday in Belgium and it wasn't as good but still worth it. Though demand was so low nearer the time that when yellolivi was ill and had to pull out last minute, despite advertising, we only managed to sell on her Sunday ticket.
I'd be looking out for ourselves before we go helping anyone else out...

I'm looking for one ticket for both Friday and Saturday.
Probably going to join LTA and try my luck in their sale. Then try French sale if unsuccessful.
I've had to join the British tennis website, via the LTA. I'm needing one for all three days.

Fentiger would like tickets for Saturday and Sunday
I'm not an LTA member so can't help out on Monday - typical as I have Monday off work as well!.... assuming you have to pay to join? For the French sale I will be at work so won't be able to help then either. Sorry folks. Good luck to everyone who needs tickets either for themselves or friends / family.

I see that The Ticket Factory website is now poised for all of us to enter on Monday at 10 a.m.
looking for 1 ticket for Saturday, used to go with the LTA so I am a member as is yellowlivi but KevD isn't. He can't really try for tickets in work either so can't on Tuesday. Crossing my fingers but if no luck will try on Tuesday. Good luck to all.

I think with the Ghent tickets situation the main issue was the really large number of tickets that the Belgians put on sale right at the last minute (as forecasted by Judy Murray!). Until then, as a group, we were still short of tickets and when the late sale started no-one knew how long it would go on for and whether only a limited number would be available. With such a limited number available in total in the Kindarena, it doesn't seem likely that this will happen again. Fingers crossed that some of us will be lucky in the general sale!

A lot of people pulled out of Ghent because of the terrorist scares which meant there were a lot more tickets around at the last minute. I agree with Tennisfan above; pretty sure that will not happen this time around.

Yes I don't think anyone would be left with tickets if they were lucky enough to secure more than they need.
I'm on the hunt for tickets for 4 people, would be happy to get Saturday & Sunday, although think Monday's LTA sale will be on a par with trying to get those 9am Wimbledon tickets on ticketmaster. Lol.
Between our group we have 5 x BTM numbers so if we end up with any extra happy to pass on.
This reminds me of Ghent and all the machinations then! Pity that thread was lost - I'm sure it would make an entertaining read!

Could be wrong but I would be very surprised if the LTA has more than 200 tickets per day. They were due to get one-tenth of the venue in capacity. After tickets for players family, sponsors etc and all the groups - Barmy Army, AMFF, BATS and Murraynators - possibly Topspin, it does not leave many tickets.

Yes I'm fully expecting to be disappointed on Monday. And I don't think Tuesday's French sale will be any better to be honest. Huge interest in tickets by fans of Les Bleues too going by FB etc posts. If no luck then it's plan B for me - a ski weekend!
Hopefully some of us will be successful. Good luck everyone :nailbiter::thumbup:

it's difficult to know what to do! I don't want to end up with one ticket for one day. There are just too few places. The French have a strong team and always seem to, justifiably, get lots of support. Instead of one country going for a higher number of tickets (I'm thinking of the semi-finals in 2015 as an example), we have two large nations trying to get far less tickets. I gave up Canada to go to France which was logistically much easier and less costly but I am now not convinced I have any chance of making it.
I, also, had to give up on Canada as I couldn't afford going there. If I can't get one, for all three days, I'll have to come up with another plan. The hotel and train are cancellable, but I'll only get my money back on the hotel.

If the French sale on Tuesday requires a membership number to get access, is there a French public sale that does not require a number to get access? If number required how do you join the FFT?
If the French sale on Tuesday requires a membership number to get access, is there a French public sale that does not require a number to get access? If number required how do you join the FFT? You need a number at the moment because the sale is not open to the general public yet. Once it does open to the public, you won't need a code / number.

Tuesday is the public sale so no access number should be required. The earlier sales were/are for FFT members.

Why on earth did the French not choose a bigger venue?
Rosalind

Why on earth did the French not choose a bigger venue?
my thoughts entirely! Perhaps they knew the Brits would come in droves and shout very loudly so this was the best option - it's our numbers down!
Why on earth did the French not choose a bigger venue?
Makes you laugh they say they want to make it tender for the final venue to cash in them allow over 10% under the 6000
min on a semi venue. So if they want to max the money the organisers should fine the home team if they can sort a big enough
venue but don't because of a stupid reason like keeping visitor support down.
Although if that is the reason it really is stupid as they should know from past experience the GB support is always phenomenal.
Even in Freeeeeeeeezzzzing Ottawa.

I'll be attempting to get 1 ticket for Saturday and Sunday. Probably won't manage to get online for the LTA pre-sale on Monday as I have a meeting starting at the same time, so will try the FFT sale on Tuesday.
If I don't manage to get any tickets, I'll be having a weekend in Paris. Will be travelling up by train (from where I live in France) on Friday evening, and have booked a flight to the UK on Monday afternoon to visit family for Easter. If I do manage to get tickets, I'll get the train to Rouen on Saturday morning - I will miss the last Friday evening train.
Good luck to all!

I don't mind trying to get a ticket or two for people even though I'm not going. but I don't want to be left with tickets on my hands. For the final a schedule was drawn up of when people wanted tickets for, and who was prepared to over buy and put spare up for any-one to purchase. Has anything like that been arranged this time ?
I don't think there is any chance of being left with spare tickets, so many people are looking. I don't think something like that has been set up this time I think RB set up this thread instead of that. I know I'm looking for myself and other forum members and I know a lot of members are looking for themselves and friends and family. There won't be a risk of having too many spares in the LTA sale.
I know there is only a 24 hour turnaround but perhaps after the LTA sale those who have been successful could amend them original post so those looking to help out by buying tickets are up to date. i assume most people would be happy to sit with the French if it comes to that, but perhaps those who wouldn't want to could also say so. Just to reduce the chance of being stuck with tickets.
I am happy to put the requests into a list format to make it easier for those helping to see. Rather than individual posts but it will have to wait until tonight.

Lynne and I will both be trying for all three days and if we are both successful will put them up here first.
We are also trying other avenues. And will also be helping out in the french free for all even if we get lucky on Monday.
If there are to many, (which I doubt very much) I'll just sell them online for as much as possible and hand any profit to
here I'm sure it ain't cheap running this Forum.
Thanks Jerry for doing that, RB asked if I would like to do the same as she did for Ghent,

The only thing, that I'm glad about, is the government is going ban a certain website (which we often mention) buying tickets and then selling them at eye watering prices.
Just looked at the LTA's website and found they're only offering Category 1 tickets, which is typical. I'll have to plough through the French website and hope I'll be able to understand the odd word, as there is no English translation for me.

French FFT members presale - Friday & Sunday sold out but still tickets left for Saturday. Presale finishes midnight on Sunday & started yesterday morning.
I take this as a good sign as it means there is maybe not the level of interest in the event from the French that we would have anticipated? If that event was here the whole lot would've been sold within the hour!
So hopefully more tickets left for us on Tuesday if we have no luck on Monday at LTA sale!:thumbup:

I will also try and get extra tickets on both days.
Yes, JerryD, I will have to try through the French website. The £225 for the three days is way out of my league. If the LTA had made it, a bit cheaper (like under £200), then I would have gone for Category 1. I've got to consider the rest of the year, though the website (which offered me a free holiday) have said I would have to take it during the world athletics championships.
Pricing is nothing to do with the LTA, if the tie had been in the UK you'd be lucky to get Category 3 for that price based on past ties.

Hi Guys, we need to be careful that the person buying the ticket is not obligated to show up themselves. There are some sites where tickets cannot be transferred. I know for Roland Garros you have to be very careful to transfer the ticket to the person who is attending.

indeed we do! You are right and if RG is the French norm, then we should be very careful. I will do some research.
Thanks, Tennisfan. I clicked on it and it turned into English. According to the LTA's website, we'll be in Sections G, R and S and they've kindly given a diagram of the stadium to show where the Brits will be.

Hi Guys, we need to be careful that the person buying the ticket is not obligated to show up themselves. There are some sites where tickets cannot be transferred. I know for Roland Garros you have to be very careful to transfer the ticket to the person who is attending.
it wasn't an issue for the DC final, as tickets were freely transferred. Obviously that was Belgium not France. Normally it is the event that dictates whether the ticket cannot be transferred (Wimbledon, Roland Garros) where tickets are known to be sold for much higher prices. But I guess we won't know until the ticket goes on sale and the T&C are shown.

Being a bit of a simpleton here but can someone confirm that you just need to go via the LTA site and put your BTM number in to get tickets and don't need a second registration via the ticket factory site. Just questioning as someone mentioned that logging on to the ticket factory site could take time as there could be a queue to sign in. Not feeling overly confident anyway as my internet is very fickle at the moment.

Thread back open now, Jerry
As I mentioned earlier on the thread, I tried for tickets in the French sale this morning and was successful, so my name can be taken off the list. I live in France so logistically it will be easier to receive them by post - there have been long delays receiving post from the UK recently so probably safer this way.
I have replied by PM to the two people who had been "ticket-matched" with me. Of course, if there is a problem and no-one else here needs those tickets, I will buy them and try to sell them on elsewhere.
Thanks to all for trying to make that everyone who wants a ticket can get one!

Hi susy, I matched you to tickets, as you liked the thread as per Rosie's instructions so I assumed that you wanted the ticket and that your earlier post about trying the French was only if you didn't get an LTA ticket. The matches were obviously done last night and not this morning. As mentioned elsewhere there was a surplus so they are not needed here. I received your pm but have been busy. Once I have spoken to the sellers I will be in touch by pm not on this thread.
Thanks
Hi guys, sorry for the delayed write up.
Firstly thanks to the help and kindness of the people who purchased extra tickets everyone who requested one from the LTA sale got what they asked for. There were a lot of you who got extra and know it was appreciated. Well done! You all received messges last night and with the exception of one I know about I assume all the other sales are going smoothly.
Secondly we were left with a surplus which obviously made pairing a bit more difficult than if we got exactly what we needed but that is impossible. Some tickets went unsold on the forum. Those members were happy for me to match them up with non forumers and still pass on at face value rather than tout. So I would like to say a huge thanks to them. We always want to help our members first but it was nice to be able to help others as well as our own and not profit from it. Those sales are all going ahead fine so no one is left out of pocket, and the tickets have gone to other Brits at the standard price. So this morning all sale were sorted with the exception on one seller who hadn't responded to my pm yet.
We have since had a withdrawal from the list and to those sellers, I am trying to pass on your tickets elsewhere so don't panic.
Thanks for bearing with me and following Rosiebears suggestion to make matching tickets easier. And of course thanks to Rosiebear for her help. If anyone has any problems please pm me rather than post them here.
Really looking forward to a great weekend and the win :) :) in France.

Well done JerryD on sorting all those tickets. Sounds like a right stramash!
Susyp - I got a message from your Sunday seller to say you withdrew from that one too but no response to pm. I have managed to find a buyer on another site for that one so you don't need to buy it. I am still trying to sort out one for your Saturday seller.
Once I have found a buyer for that ticket, no one, even new members will have been left holding LTA tickets :) I'm sure I will find a buyer for that last cancelled match. When I have, all LTA tickets will have been sold on and no one will be out of pocket which is a great result given the surplus. I hope this means that no one is put off buying extra tickets in the future as it could be needed again and almost all of them have found a home.
Thanks again guys and thanks to the sellers in the cancelled matches for your patience :) :)
Well we have now found buyers for the French sale tickets and 2 extra LTA.
I felt like we were growing tickets for a while there! Thanks to the fabulous forumers more Brits are able to go now. It seems all the nators who wanted tickets are sorted and some bats too. Sadly I have still not managed to shift yellowlivi's ticket, but I am hoping to do so with the help of Mary pope. In the meantime I'm sure the years of friendship will buy me patience, right Liv? If anyone knows someone wanted 1 single LTA Saturday, let me know, so we can wrap this up.
In my adventures trying to pass tickets on, I was given the name of a friend I'd already passed tickets too, a bats member I'd already sorted and another bats member who ended up being the sister of a murraynator I'd already sorted and so didn't need them either! It is a really small tennis world lol.
There were some bats members who had forked out the insane money for the Thomas cook package and were hoping for Sunday tickets as extra the expense of the package for two days they had to leave the third. Thanks to jagmad and lynne, they are now sorted too.
Let's hope tickets continue to be this easy to get, though maybe a litte easier to pass on! ;) :)
You deserve a medal, JerryD!
Brilliant job Jerry by you and RB on this. Well done everyone. We're like the Marines - no man (or woman) left behind!!
:thumbup: final ticket gone!!! So yellowlivi and I don't have to fall out lol Found a murraynator to pair up with so we could pass them on to a bats member who only wanted a ticket if they could get at least two days. So every ticket passed on, nearly 40 of and no one out of pocket. Which means a lot of forumers parting with their hard earned cash (even though only temporary) to help others.
No man or woman left behind is right Jan, I like that. Now for the win and the party!:GBflag:

Love how everyone worked to get everyone who can go to France there. This has to be worth some positive karma on the behalf of team gb.
Oddly the LTA are offering more tickets in a general sale on Friday, initially they said there wouldn't be one and the members sale sold out. The Thomas cook package thing didn't though so I wonder if they are just selling those as tickets. We definitely don't need any :laugh:

Thanks once again Jerry it was a few days hard but probably enjoyable work, amazed there are still tickets left, as you say, they might just be the "few" that were passed to Thomas Cook, what a shambes, initially asking for 349 a day then reducing price to 199/256 just before the sale.

More tickets have appeared on the French ticket site too so I am keeping an eye out for cat 2 in case stell is still considering it.
I can't imagine many people would have got the Thomas cook ones even at the reduced price it's a lot more than booking seperately. So far I have only found two people got them and that was because there was nothing else and they were desperate to go
Sit back and relax, it's in our hands.
Tickets can be sent out at least 2 weeks before the show, sooner if possible.
This helps combat ticket loss, the resale of tickets and to stop the touts.
And leaves the Fans. :nailbiter:

I rang Ticketfactory some days ago as I was convinced I had pressed the button for electronic tickets but hadn't received them via email.
Turned out that in my haste and panic to buy, I hadn't so they are coming in the post. Woman said that that tickets would be sent "in next 7-10 days". I can't remember the day I rang exactly but it was probably about Thursday-ish. So maybe we'll have them around this w/e.
I must say, although I've not looked a great deal, that the touts seemed to be being kept at bay because there is nothing on Viagogo for this.

I'm sure Stell has pretty much ruled out going to Rouen now and no longer has a hotel booking there, she has no tickets and had only been interested if she could secure them for all 3 days.
I just spoke to the Tkt Factory and they said that they can't start processing/printing/sending the tickets
until they get authorisation from the organisers (LTA) and that isn't even forthcoming.
I suggested that someone from TF might contact the LTA to ask when/if they want them to start processing,
and they said she would talk to dispatch dept. but couldn't promise anything. I pointed out that with no E tkt
option they are leaving it late for anyone who is travelling early like ourselves to get them in time and to be
honest they sounded like they couldn't give a flying fish.
So perhaps the LTA need a prod in the right direction?
Anyone have a long stick?

I was expecting all tickets to be printed in France then shipped over for TF to distribute.
Seems like there would have to be a lot of organisation and co-operation for TF to print their own tickets that could be validated at the arena.

. Should it get to the Monday before the tie and you don't have tickets, then contact ticketfactory as they may have to send then out using a faster or guaranteed service.
I will definitely be in a panic if they don't arrive by then as I am having to leave on Wednesday probably before my mail delivery so Tuesday would be my last possible delivery. Fingers crossed!

Perhaps the bats person I spoke to was wrong, though I would wonder then why there are seats on the French tickets and yet only seats to be allocated on the LTA booking. It suggests that both sets of tickets are sorted seperately. I suspect that this is why a print at home option was only available for French tickets but not for LTA ones. Either way there is no cause for concern until the Monday of the tie. There is still time then if chased for tickets to arrive by the Tuesday and the earliest anyone I know is leaving is the Wednesday.
I will definitely be in a panic if they don't arrive by then as I am having to leave on Wednesday probably before my mail delivery so Tuesday would be my last possible delivery. Fingers crossed!
We're the same.
I'm going to be calling them again Tuesday next week if the status hasn't changed by then.
If you call a week on Monday there is still time to sort it. Though you could call on the Friday. My guess is if it is not sorted by this coming Tuesday and showing so online, calling them that early won't force action as they will be aware there is still time to dispatch. I have been to gigs before and had tickets dispatched a week before. There is no need to panic early next week.
JAMES4578
22-03-2017, 13:27
There's also the logistics of it, with some ticket holders who purchased for others not going to Rouen themselves (though should be fine if they arrive at some point next week) I've checked and it's not possible for the tickets to be forwarded to a different address from cardholder :
Tickets booked using a Credit or Debit card must be posted to the Card Holder's registered address. We are obliged to implement this rule under the terms of our contract with the Card Issuers (VISA and MasterCard etc.) and are unable to make any exceptions.

For anyone in this situation it might be worth working out nearest forum members who could meet up and courier the tickets to Rouen.
Yeah of course, I had forgotten about those who had got tickets for others but aren't going. For those going ticket exchange can happen in Rouen. I guess we have to cross our fingers and wait until mid next week. If tickets don't arrive by Next week those who aren't going could send gauranteed next day delivery and arrange for buyers to transfer the funds. . It's not cheap at around £6.50 but it is an option.
For anyone in this situation it might be worth working out nearest forum members who could meet up and courier the tickets to Rouen.
Or for the LTA be made aware of the amount of :nailbiter: this could cause/is causing, just because of... well no good reason really.
If the French have E ticket option then they must know all their seat numbers.
So whats left must be LTA allocation. It's all in the three sections, and as the Tkt factory said,
"We are waiting for the Event Organisers/LTA to authorise the release"
The reason will no doubt be allocating tickets to seat numbers. No small task. But as I said no need to panic the earliest they would have been sent out would be Friday so it's not as if we would have had them before Tuesday anyway. Even if seats were sorted more and more event organisers are leaving it til later to despatch to reduce the temptation to tout and increase the risk. I know people got tickets to sell on for face value but as the approach is to stop people passing tickets on, pushing the LTA on it to make it is for us to pass on seems unlikely to be successful.
Perhaps if no one has heard anything by the middle of next week we can start looking for ways to get tickets out.
Decided rather than Chinese whispers from bats and ticketfactory to contact LTA direct. So tickets are coming from France. They are being dispatched tomorrow and are expected to arrive at Birmingham office of ticketfactory on Friday and so people should receive them by the end of next week.
Therefore there shouldn't be a problem in them arriving on time. I will pass this back to bats so I further misinformation is passed on. The LTA have said that though they expect there not to be a problem if posted tickets so not arrive on time then they can be cancelled and collection at box office at venue arranged instead. I said that some has got tickets as presents etc and so wouldn't have the purchasers card but maybe just a confirmation email. She said they could find a work around it if needed but for now to just hold fire until Thursday next week and see where we are.
So absolutely no cause for concern folks :)
:thanks::thumbup::flowers:

Sorry yes I did. Just a mindslip sorry and thank you

This was what I meant.
Which Friday? next?
29-adjacent you got your own tickets so it's easier, if you haven't got your ticket by Thursday call the LTA and they will arrange a box office collection for you :)

Yes next Friday 31st is when I leave to go to London. Travelling direct to France from there on Thurs 6th.
I would be calling them on Monday telling them your situation and see what they say.
Maybe you'll have to do a Box office pick up as Jerry said,
Just for anyone who doesn't know there's a site called say no to 0870 that gives alternative numbers for
places that charge for you to call there's several 03 numbers and a 0800 one but never tried it.
https://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php
I wouldn't call them Monday as the lady I spoke to at the LTA advice was to wait until Wednesday and if not received then call to arrange box office pick up. As they aren't being dispatched from Birmingham until Friday afternoon it is unlikely that anyone will have their tickets Monday. I told the woman at the LTA that people were needing them as they were travelling early, I suggested that people needed them before the Monday. She said to wait til Wednesday first. I would imagine if you call Monday they will ask you to wait til Wednesday and then call back. It is of course up to you, but wouldn't want you to waste your time when they will want you to allow time for delivery first. .
Tickets printing today.
:yahoo:
They said they would be dispatched today so looks like they were right
Super-tout ticket resale website Viagogo are involved in “naked, fraudulent mis-selling” to music fans with the collusion of internet giant Google, according to a Scottish MP.
John Nicolson called out the secondary ticketing site as a powerful Commons committee heard fans buying tickets at rip-off prices from their website would not be guaranteed access to top gigs.
Furious MPs on the culture committee heard how Viagogo charge thousands of pounds for invalid tickets – then refuse refunds.
But there was an empty chair at the session yesterday. The firm refused to send an executive to answer MPs’ questions in their inquiry into ticket abuse.

Well that's curious, Lynne's are printing since this morning and mine are still stuck. LOL
Tickets have been dispatched from the Birmingham office of ticketfactory so I imagine we will all have them by Wednesday if not before.
Lynnes are marked as dispatched and mine are still preparing even more curious er?

My ticket is still preparing too!
FWIW Just spoke to ticket factory and asked why?
They couldn't give me a reasonable answer but did say all would be done by end of play tomorrow having talked to dispatch.

Where are people seeing that their tickets are 'preparing' or 'printing'? I can't see anything like that on my account!
There's a tab in your confirmation email see how your tickets are doing or something like that.

Thanks I found it! It says estimated delivery is 30/03 which is literally the last day they could arrive before I leave for London! Fingers crossed there are no delays.

Mine have been despatched !!! I hope yours all soon are at this stage of development!! I hope mine arrive soon. I hope I'm not out and I get added stress... I will be back on here a) happy :jitterbug: or b) panicked  as applicable.

Sounds like you have a reason to feel stressed, hope it all works out ---- everyone else chill, you have almost a week longer!
The estimated delivery is a delivery by date. I would imagine it would be there before then. It's unlikely that 1st class takes 5 working days. Even a second class parcel doesn't take 5 working days. I send out at least 3 a week. They will arrive in time. 29 - adjacent if it's not there when you need it call the LTA for box office collection. Don't worry folks.

Same here! Mine are still at the preparation stage!
Edit: I have just read the other posts....looks like I'm not alone!

Exactly Jerry! It will be fine.
Posting this in the off-chance: I know of a cat 1 Sunday ticket for sale if anyone is interested?
Lorraine's? I haven't had any luck with Mary it seems everyone who wanted one has one
Had e-mail this morning from Ticketmaster still offering Cat 1 tickets from French website.
Still LTA tickets too. French site had more cat 2 last week.
It seems there was not the demand from the general British fans that we anticipated .... LTA should have allocated more where we know they were wanted!
I know! It's so annoying. They also should have allowed more tickets together. I know people who didn't come because with it being school hols they wanted to come and bring their son but couldn't get seats together for the 3 of them so decided to give it a miss.
Davis cup meeting leak:
Are there any more points before we retire?
Yes Re France v GB tie.
Here are the top reasons for lack of sales at said tie:
#1 Too expensive
#2 Way they are sold (no 3 day tkts/can't buy more than 2 together not family friendly) + the scramble for the 10%
#3 Possibility of top players not playing.
So what should we do about it? Erm lets see........
Lets remove all the ranking points,
Make it three sets and 2 days. (cos it'll cost the fans less) Infact! we could just cancel the DC altogether it'll be even cheaper then.
And have the final somewhere as far away from both teams as possible, bids to be in well before we know the finalists.
Yeah that'll fix it.
Erm what about points 1.2 and 3?
Nah don't worry the fans are as thick as 2 short planks, it'll all be ok if we just bury our heads in the sand.
Erm won't we have to charge 50% more for 2 day tickets? We still have our profit to make on top of the expenses!
I refer my Honourable friend to answer given earlier, but we don't want that cat out the bag until the changes are implemented.
Remove that from the minutes please. All done? Yes? OK.
Now lets all go to the bar and get sloshed cos the big boys are paying and I have the credit card. Yipee.
Mines a large Brandy, make it a pint.
Darn good meeting that wot?

Very good jagmad! Having an idle thought re the prices....the tickets for the Belgian tie were really cheap....does anyone know if they sold out or would there still be tickets for sale for that particular tie? Wondering if the price influenced their sales? BTW, not going to that tie!!
My absolute undivided attention will be in Rouen!

I just looked at the official Belgian ticket site and there are tickets available for the tie. Also listed on Viagogo.
I think the changes will ruin DC - essentially they have given it a blow that I don't think it will recover from. I can't see myself trecking across Europe or the country for two days. Particularly as Jadmad has said the prices will probably be the same.
I understand the stress on the players, but it would have been better to keep it as it is, and make it biannually avoiding Olympic years all together.
So glad I managed to go to all the ties in 2015 - my first ones.
Got my Euros today.

I don't know - haven't opened to look as I'm not keeping them. (but they are cat 1 so should be pretty good)
My post man doesn't roll up til about 1pm so I'll have to wait and see. Seems like the LTA were right with Wednesday, those that don't come today should come tomorrow :) all in enough time.

My ticket arrived that I sold it is shown as Escalier (block), Rang (row) and Place (seat number). Does anyone know where the AMFF tickets are? Is it G, R or S. The ticket I got is in Block S.

Oddly when you look at the seating chart on the French site it looks like the numbers start at 1 at the back and go up as they go down towards the court. Surely that can't be right can it?

Yes it can. It's the same at Paris Bercy that's for sure.
Seems that it may be though as if you go to select your own seats and select the second row from the back it comes up as row 2 the row infront of it comes up as 3
Edit- just saw your response Sally, thank you.

Yes I remember being totally confused the first time I went to Bercy. I was in Row 18 and thought I was near the back. It turned out to be near the front.
Tickets arrived here too! Block G, row 3, Seat 1 for the Sunday.

Looks like seat one is right in the middle and not on the end. Just to confuse the issue a bit more.
It seems each lettered section starts and ends in the middle of a block of seats,
and the G represents the stairway. With half of the seats each side of the stairs.
Maybe we should ask the LTA to see if the British blocks could have their row numbers rearranged
to start from the bottom, as that's obviously the order of best tickets first that they were sold/issued.
