They've not played each other before so the H2H is 0-0.

Really hoping for a convincing show from Andy today. Not just to crash ARV back down to earth, but because it's time now for Andy to assert his authority as no. 1. Andy has been very unfortunate with illness and injury and there is nothing to be done about that...however my slight concern for Andy is that he is a better hunter than frontrunner. Looking at the smaller scale, in matches Andy finds his best tennis when his back is against the wall, but can lose focus when ahead. Andy played amazing tennis last year to hunt Novak down and get the no 1.....he now has to show that he is up the ultimate front-running challenge in tennis in order to keep it. You can do it Andy, still enough of 2017 left for you to find your best and dominate.....starting today!! :superman::thumbup:

Yes this is Andy not yet up to the level required for playing against a top clay court player. Has to focus and just use the rest of this set to feel better, try some 75% first serves and play himself into the match and be ready for presumably the next two sets. And NOT hit near the lines because today the shots are going out!
AND stop chuntering and going off focus.

Time was Berdych was his nemesis- look how that turned out. Time was equally when we never thought he would reached a clay court final. It might be that his joint issues are exacerbated on clay, and this will be a duff year clay wise. With Nadal in a conquering clay mood again, there is no chance of it being as good as last year.
