There is already another thread open for discussion about who is going to Queens and when so please post there and not on this one. I've just moved 3 posts over.

Always a strong field at Queens but this year has got to be one of the best. Great matches coming for those with tickets

Bardot

Nadal has withdrawn from Queens on the advice of his doctors so unless there are anymore withdrawals (or a wild card ;)) the 8 seeds are:

1. Andy Murray
2. Stan Wawrinka
3. Milos Raonic
4. Marin Cilic
5. Jo-Wilfred Tsonga
6. Grigor Dimitrov
7. Tomas Berdych
8. Jack Sock

Confirmation rising star Cameron Norrie has been awarded a wildcard for Queens

That's good news for him. Hope he doesn't draw one of the top 8 seeds in the first round. It could be a bit daunting playing on the Centre Court at Queens. I saw him play in Surbiton last year.

Sorry think I am getting confused with Edward Corrie!

Bardot
16-06-2017, 11:17
No Dan or Delpo at Queen's.

Stuart Fraser‏ @stu_fraser
Dan Evans (calf injury) and Juan Martin del Potro (groin injury) withdraw from the Aegon Championships at Queen's.

Aljaz is in the main draw but not as a result of Dan withdrawing. ;)

Wild cards have been given to James Ward & Kokkinakis.

Was very disappointed when Nick had to retire. Would like to have seen more of him. My heart was in my mouth when he went down...I felt his pain. Fall did look awkward. And I really think he was looking forward to this tournament and was actually happy to be there. I suppose that now scuppers his doubles matches too?...poor Dom.

Kyle really threw that away with a very poor service game. I think the pressure got to him but he really does have to learn how to cope with that. He needs to have a long talk with Andy, I think.

I thought it was a fair result. Even at the start of the match Denis looked like he had the bigger weapons with his serve and backahnd. He took the risks and on this occasion it paid off. Kyle didn't really assert himself as the much higher ranked player or use his home advantage and get the crowd revved up. I hope he can get into a tournament next week to get more grass match time before Wimby.

JAMES4578
20-06-2017, 09:44
Certainly Tsonga and Dimitrov were pretty impressive and both could be tough quarter final opponents, frustrating for Nick but in the circumstances best to quit. Whilst Kyle was disappointing ,Denis did take it to him and seems to have come on-hopefully Edmund performs better in the weeks ahead though.

I do love watching jo play. He's had a hit and miss year so hopefully te grass will be kind to him. I'd like to see him take the title at the end of the week. Good results here would be great for Lopez too, he's falling down the rankings, currently outside the top 30.

I know he doesn't have many fans here but I'd also like to see a few wins for Berdy. His last 9 months have been very up and down. He is in danger of dropping out of the top 15. It's always sad to see a guy on the way down. Especially if like in berdy's case you get the feeling that he never really performed to the best of his ability or achieved what he was capable of. His career hasn't been full of injuries like delpo's or ended abruptly like soderpop. So I've never really understood why he hasn't fulfilled his potential. I hope he gets a handle on it now though and starts putting in more work and better performances. This week, with big seeds out, is a good time to make a move.

Well done Tomas - his experience squeaks him through a tough and enjoyable match. But wow - Denis is so good! The other day against Kyle I thought the commies were going overboard about Denis, but watching from a more neutral perspective I can tell he's a very special talent. I like him too after the DC incident; everyone makes mistakes, it how you deal with them that matters, and Denis handled it with so much humility and maturity. Wish him well.

Also impressed with Shapovalov....just reminded me somehow of a young Andy at Queens all those years ago. I'm sure Shappy will have learnt from the awful DC incident. He seemed very mature and thoughtful about it in an interview I saw earlier in the week. Lots to come from him in the future and would have liked him to beat Bredy who is not on my favourites list

Yes - he had won the point against Berdy's serve but his challenge negated his win and handed the point back to Berdy. All good experience though - he'll learn from it. A champion in the making, I think - I'll look forward to watching his progress. I just hope they don't put huge amounts of pressure on him too soon like they did with Dimitrov.

My nephew has been with my for a few weeks so I haven't seen any tennis. He doesn't like it and by bed time I have a bunch of chores and work. Didn't mind when I missed andys loss, but sad to have missed the Berdy match. Sounds like it was a good one. Happy Denis made it more competitive but in the end I wanted Berdy for this one :)

Had 2 days at Queens this week with Themass15 (thanks again for your company  and also arranging my tickets) on Tuesday and Wednesday which were both so hot and disappointing regarding tennis results. On Tuesday watched James, Stan, then, unfortunately, Andy all lose:sad::sad::sad: On Wednesday was watching the doubles for a while and see Lopez's losing their match, then watched Jo lose, by then l was starting to think l was a jinx !!!!! also the heat was getting to me :phew: so l left the tournament. Came home to have a lovely cold shower and watched tennis on TV seems l missed the best 2 matches Dimitri/Benneteau and Berdych/Shapovalov.:tennis:

After what was a fairly routine day at Queens, (the highlights being for me the footage of Goran and the ball girl from 20 years ago and watching a ball girl and an official trying to turn an inside out umbrella the right way round!!) the last match between Feli and Berdy brought some life back to the event! Some lovely tennis from both men ...it really was a pity there had to be a loser! I hope Feli has enough left in the tank now for his SF tomorrow.

Queens has been weird this year. We are left with 4 players, only 2 of whom are seeded! But many of the matches featured, if Lloydy et al are to be believed(?) so called 'future champions'! Turned out more like a futures tournament!!I think maybe Lloydy has me brainwashed!! Lol! We'll see.

I wonder who'll win out of Lopez and Dimi...as I said, I wanted that to be the final so don't really want either to lose but out of the 2 of them I would like to watch Dimi in the final on Sunday.
Out of Cilic and Muller I'm not really fussed...I'd rather Berdych could hop over into that match...

This year's Queens reminds me of the one a few years back when all the seeds went out ... as you said Pat, weird! Not been able to go this year or even watch on TV - in fact the only match I've seen is the last one between Feli and Berdych which was a good one. I like Feli and Grigor ... but Feli is older so I'd really like him to win this time.

Reminds me of 2010 when I had tickets for the Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. On the Wednesday I saw the conclusion of the match where Andy lost to Fish, and then saw Rafa lose to Feli. You are right there Linda. I said to the friend I went with yesterday if you want to see the big names, you need to go at the beginning of the week. All the hype beforehand with the amazing line up. I am going this p.m. but not the excitement and interest there has been before and I wonder how many empty seats there will be. I was also there for the semi in 2010 and there were quite a lot of empty seats that day. The only interest was for Feli on that day.

Firstly, Marin done his time so should be allowed to move on, just as I will support Dan when/if he comes back after his ban. Secondly, I would support virtually anyone over Lopez, whom despite having a lovely game esp on grass I find utterly repellent as a person (take how you feel about Berdych and multiply at least 10 times :)).

I would too Teresa, but the beautiful grass season is so short, I don't want to miss a second even if the final does involve two slightly controversial players.
