View Full Version : ANTALYA, EASTBOURNE - 25 June 1 July 2017
I see that Eastbourne, like Queens, Monte Carlo & Rome etc., are now selling Court 1 tickets separately. One refreshing thing about Barcelona was that a Centre Court ticket still admitted you to all other courts.

I guess Eastbourne is doing it because there are men there this year too. I thought Queens had dropped the Court 1 tickets this year.

I feel a bit of desperation here. He really should have a rest. He is breaking with tradition.
He often plays boodles so I guess it's not unheard of for him to play before wimbie. Though it's not the same as playing a tournie. I guess he figures it's worth a try. If he's not in the right headspace now then one more week off won't help. If he's going to take a break I would suggest from now to the hard courts. But I guess he's got to try anything that could help

Denis S has requested a wc for Eastbourne qualies. Hope he gets one and comes through. Would love to see him.

Denis S is well worth watching if yesterday is anything to go by!
At least the "boob thrust" will scare away the seagulls. :p Assuming he gets the chance to do it. ;)
Klein and Salisbury play the Skupski brothers in the first round at Eastbourne, while Clayton and O'Mara play Haase and Inglot.

Had a fantastic day at Eastbourne yesterday. After watching Kyle lose another winnable match () and looking at the draw I had resigned myself to more "plucky" Brit losses, but Heather and Cam were outstanding. I'd put Heather's performance right up there with her famous Wimbo battle against Serena, and this time she got the right result. She really is a gem to watch when on song, but days like yesterday feel frustratingly rare. Must admit that I'm not too familiar with Cam Norrie but a career best win for him, great to see. Definitely enjoyed cheering the both on to memorable wins. Hope others going later in the week get great weather and great matches too.
Thiem has just lost to the world number 222 Ramkumar Ramanathan 3-6 2-6  Why go all the way to Turkey when he could have played rubbish like that at Boodles? He was woeful and was tanking by the end.
Too late for a Wimbledon wild card for Ramanathan.

Appearance money?
The most honest performance from Thiem in Antalya was at the player's party when he admitted it was "only luck" he won Stuttgart last year.

Beaten by a qualifier today. Doesn't bode well for him at Wimbledon.
Who knows? It could be just a one off.
Sugita v Mannarino is final in Antalya. Tennis is alive. :p ;)

Djokovic v Monfils is the Eastbourne final, Gael though another one with injury concern and did become battle but finally seen ofF Gasquet in 3rd set Breaker. http://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/news/articles/2017-06-30/djokovic_and_monfils_through_in_eastbourne.html
Love monfils but I was happy djoko got this one. Just wanted him to find some confidence and improve his mentality so the competition can be high and exciting at the top of the game
