So...we were right in our observance of the recent loose tops. Delighted for them both and baby Sophia too. Reckon she will be nearly two when baby comes which is a lovely gap in my opinion - even if it means Kim will have her hands full.

Like others I did suspect. Lovely news and if it's a December baby it's will be the same gap as ours. 22 months which is a nice age gap for siblings. We had our first baby in February, a girl then a boy in December. :cauldron:

I guess they knew they had to put the news out as Kim would be on view and the newspapers would be speculating due to her choice of attire and then Andy would get hassled about it.

I've heard that news just now! Big congratulations to both ;) He was shy to say, how cute! I like how they're discreet on their life!
I've said to my friend, Andy's indeed Nole's twin brother, they've the same age, and Andy's always following his steps by becoming Big 4, world number 1, marrying, having 1st child, then 2nd haha ^^
Great news for Andy and Kim. Glad the news is out and so everyone doesn't have to keep speculating. :)

They haven't announced it, but it wouldn't surprise me if Kim has had the baby. They are very private, but no doubt word will leak out eventually.

I did wonder after the comment made about him not attending the ATP council meeting in Paris. It did not make sense that he was then able to be in Glasgow 10 days later with confidence that all would be ok and he wouldn’t suddenly be called away.
just heard on the BBC news that Andy and Kim now have another daughter - great news!! Congratulations to them both.
It has just been announced on BBC Breakfast that Kim had a baby girl this morning. Congratulations Andy and Kim!

Sir Andy Murray's wife Kim has given birth to a baby girl.The couple, who married in 2015, already have a daughter, Sophia, who was born in 2016. The news emerged less than 24 hours after Andy Murray attended a charity tennis event at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow. The couple's second girl is understood to have been born in England a few days ago. Both Kim and the new baby are believed to be doing well.

Both Kim and the new baby are believed to be doing well.
Sir Andy's grandmother, Shirley Erskine, told the BBC that she was "delighted" and was "looking forward to a cuddle".
Speaking ahead of a trip to London to meet her new great-granddaughter, she said: "All's well, which is the main thing.
"She's a little playmate for Sophia, who I'm sure will be equally thrilled."
Mrs Erskine of Dunblane remained tight-lipped on the question of a name for the newest addition to the Murray household.
She said: "I'm sure they've got that all worked out.
"We'll find out this weekend. I don't really know much at the moment because we haven't seen her. But we're looking forward to having a little cuddle and a little play with Sophia, who is running about all over the place and chattering."

So very happy for all three of them ! Andy is certainly a one for his privacy and good luck to him.
However...does he realise there is a whole group of us who are absolutely desperate for a photo of Sophia, let alone the new baby ? Come on Andy..just a little one
I imagine he knows it, but wants to keep this part of his life private. He has been dealing with the media in some form since he was six. Wasn’t there a newspaper write up of one of his matches then? There is certainly film of him at 11 with Leon Smith being interviewed.
As a very well off and well known man, he will be well aware that he and they are potential targets for passing madmen/women.

Exactly. There was a kidnap attempt on Brooklyn Beckham after his parents decided (on his behalf) to present him to the general public. Fed went public too, when his twin girls were infants and is obviously prepared to deal with the security risks. Andy and Novak have got more sense, and imo ethics, by protecting their child's privacy - it is not their's to irreversibly give away. There may come a time when Andy wants his daughters to watch him play and will re-evaluate the situation, but for now he is absolutely doing the right thing by keeping them unrecognisable.

I don't think fan's curiosity overrides Andy's need for his children's privacy at this point in time, I get that some folk would like to see pics (though I don't particularly ) but it is not a right.

I think Andy has a lot of class by not parading his children in public. The Beckhams lived near me when the kidnap attempt occurred. The children were then ferried around in an armoured car, trips to the cinema etc were orchestrated security manoeuvres with everybody banned from speaking to them. of course it would be lovely to see photos but it's not what they're about - thank goodness.
"Breaking news" I heard on radio five live at about 8.30am on the Wednesday. The woman then announced that Andy and Kim had had another daughter. Congratulations to them.

I respect Andy and Kim's right to privacy and like others on here understand the many reasons he has kept his children out of the public eye. He is a private young man and wishes to protect his family and I think that is to be applauded.

Andy has taken legal action in the past to protect Sophia's privacy. He did lose one case where the press published a photo of Kim pushing Sophia in her pushchair at Wimbledon 2016. The court wouldn't uphold the complaint because the baby's face wasn't visible in the photo. I suspect that an injunction does prevent any other photos from being published though, and he isn't going to violate his own injunction by publishing a family photo
Well done to him for protecting his family. It can't be easy in a world where photos can be circulated so easily at the click of a mouse

Am i the only one then that really isnt interested in seeing pics of the kids?.. the only thing im interested in is seeing andy back on court! I quite like to see kim at his tourneys & see what shes wearing etc but cute as they probs are....babies just arent my thing lol.....even andys ;)
I'll only be interested in Andy's kids if they become sporting superstars in their chosen sport. ;)

Any news on her name? She's nearly a month old.
There have been rumours that she has been named Edith or Edie but I don't know how much truth there is in that. Oh - and happy name day, Andy - happy St Andrew's Day, everyone!
One of my great aunts, on my mum's side, was called Edith.
Maybe it's a family name or maybe there is no truth at all in the rumours. It does seem strange that they haven't released her name yet though - I'm sure they weren't as reticent with Sophia.

I think the difference is Andy was playing and being interviewed regularly when his first baby was born. Baby 2 came during off season so an opportunity to keep quiet about all aspects for a while. I hope they are enjoing this private time. I don't expect to find out second baby's name until next year when Andy's back playing - don't see why would they go out of their way to volunteer info before then.

I agree. I was about to post something similar! I expect if/when he is asked a direct question in an interview he will divulge his daughter's name.

I think the difference is we all (like it or not help fund the Royal Family). Baby Louis will get comprehensive security. Publicity is part of the deal. The Murray sproglets are nothing to do with AM’s role.
BTW I am in favour of the Monarchy
Privacy is understandable, but to have one publicly named daughter & another with no name, just seems slightly odd to me.

Surely at some point her name will just be in the public domain. I mean I can't imagine that it's just close friends and family that know and they can't swear everone to secrecy for ever. But in fact it's probably got to the point where most people really aren't bothered to know.
I think it's a bit silly really. It was topical at the time but, I agree, I suspect not many people are really bothered now. Fed announced the names of his children, as did Djoko - it really isn't a big deal.

Since Andy's been out the press have crossed a lot of boundaries that he and his family clearly aren't happy about - it probably feels nice to retain privacy where he can and I don't blame him.

You would need Andy and Kim's full names, Edith's full name, the date and the place of where she was born in order to get the certificate. But, it would be an invasion of privacy.
i'm surprised none of the red tops has done just that, i would if i worked for one of them.
