Might have missed it, but it seems that Serena doesn't have her own thread....time to start one. She has named her litte girl Alexis Olympia (Ohanian). I've heard a lot worse. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4880394/Serena-Williams-shares-photos-baby-girl-Alexis.html

Isn't it her fiance's name - apart from Olympia, that is? Definitely not as outlandish as it might have been.

Love the names. Not too crazy. The baby is so adorbs and I admire them for putting out their own sweet video of the whole journey.

Congrats to them.

I can't think of anything worse than a 'star studded bash', though.

When the fail is so strong you don't know where to begin :facepalm::facepalm:

Interviewer who called Serena Williams 'baby' and asked if she was intimidated by Maria Sharapova’s ‘supermodel looks’ is forced to apologise after social media backlash

just to say, was looking forward to the match yesterday and what a shame it couldn't take place. Would have been massively routing for Serena although on the whole don't follow too closely.

Was really looking forward to the match. Not a huge fan of Serena but would have been supporting her against Masha.

What a disappointment. I have always supported Serena over Maria tbh. I really like her. When I was at the Wimby final a couple of years ago EVERYONE was supporting Mugaruza but I was shouting for Serena and getting 'that look' from all around me ;)

Serena has been named as the 25th seed for Wimbledon.

Cibulkova not supportive of Serena being seeded, as Dominika would miss out on a seeding. You can understand it from her point of view, but would she have the same view if she was still no.4 in the world ? Serena seeded 25, so Wimbledon have given her a couple of rounds to get her eye in, then she would have to play a top 8 player after that.

I am supportive in principle, Seems reasonable compromise as some thought Serena should be seeded far higher- there are mixed views amongst the players. If Serena in form seeding likely not going to make a great deal of difference, whilst seems strange Cibulkova not seeded has not been quite the same player of late.

The article (http://www.tennis.com/pro-game/2019/07/serena-williams-essay-harpers-baazar-naomi-osaka-apology-us-open-final/83354/) (written by Matt Fitzgerald, ex AMFFer) also makes clear that Serena sent a written apology to Naomi Osaka and received a gracious reply in return.
