Kyle Edmund gets a Direct Entry to the Paris Masters as a result of the withdrawal of Berdych and Kyrgios.
:GBflag:

If another 3 players withdraw from the main list then Aljaz Bedene will also get in.

Kyle plays Pouille in the Vienna Semi-Final tomorrow.
Kyle plays Pouille in the Paris R1 probably on Tuesday!

Federer has withdrawn from Paris, tweet from Simon Cambers and others.

Interesting - not a surprise but it does mean Fed isn't pulling out all the stops to be year end number one - probably sensible.

Presume his #1 is secured?

Is it ? I hadn't realised that.

Sallydaisy

Presume his #1 is secured?
No. Rafa only needs to win his first round match to nail the y'end #1.
Source ATP media on Twitter.
"No. 2 @RogerFederer (https://mobile.twitter.com/rogerfederer) withdraws from #RolexPMasters (https://mobile.twitter.com/hashtag/RolexPMasters?src=hashtag_click), meaning @RafaelNadal (https://mobile.twitter.com/RafaelNadal) can clinch year-end No. 1 by winning his first match in Paris"

Andy now showing #15 and Nole #10 in live after losing thier Paris & ATP finals points. There's going to be a lot of NCHs next week.

Sad so see Simon lose to chardy today, it's been such a tough year for him. All the way down at 74 today. Edmund is first up tomorrow against donskoy

Oh Denis , loses to Benneteau , what has happened to you :(

He's done HORRIBLY in the indoor hc season. Just awful. Not sure why as he trained as a youngster on indoor hard.

Just seen tomorrow's OOP!!!
Can't believe they've put Potty down on Court 1, that's insane!
How do I fit in so many great matches???

For those who've never been ...
You only buy tickets for the Centre Court but they are also valid in the 2 school halls that are called Courts 1&2 with seating on a first come basis.

Not sure if link will work and using new tablet so unsure how to post the image.

I remember they did that to Andy one year and then apologised for it. I seem to remember it was against James Blake but I may have that wrong.

Surprised to see hasse get the better of zverev, it was 3 sets but didn't seem close. 3-6 6-2 6-2 zverev can now rest up a little for the WTF though :)

Think the Paris Masters was one tournament too many for young Sascha. He looked exhausted. Hope he will rest now and be ready for the challenge of London.

JerryD
01-11-2017, 17:49
So happy for delpo with his win over Sousa but I wish pouille could have added to the joy by losing to Lopez. Hopefully Lopez will be on form next year and come back up in the rankings. Versasco and isner also through today )

Sallydaisy
01-11-2017, 22:09
Verdasco is playing vintage Verdasco, the match v Anderson was something else!!!!

Sasha looked as though he only had London on his mind, which is not to say I thought he was tanking it.

Haase plays with considerable flair and outplayed Zverev throughout the match, he absolutely deserved the win. Sasha played boring baseline tennis, poorly at that. Frankly I was disappointed and wondered what all the fuss was about.

Isner wins 7'6(10), 5'7, 7'6(3).

Benneteau now leads Goffin 6'3 and 3'0!

JerryD
02-11-2017, 17:05
It's a surprising day! Didn't see isner taking that one. Head to head between delpotro and isner is 6-2 but that doesn't fill me with confidence for tomorrow's match. Especially not with the way today's matches went :(

Sallydaisy
02-11-2017, 17:13
Am tennis'd out today.

Fran (Del Potro) v Haase was a bit lacklustre, end of the first set it looked as though neither of them wanted to win it with advantage being traded for what seemed like an age. It was rather a case of "after you Claude; no, after you Cecil!". The 2nd set wasn't much better with both in horizontal mode. I came to with a start when the umpire called Fran the winner.

Verdasco v Thiem was much more lively especially since the Spaniard es 'en fuego' this year and seemingly on a mission to teach the 'youngsters' how to play tennis out with the baseline. I think he's also keen to impress the rather fetching lady sitting court side who is cheering him on.

Big John played his usual game; unfortunately Dimi wasn't reading the Isner serve very well.

I really wanted to go down to Court 1 for the Goffin match but there's been not less than 100 queueing since 2.30pm on account of first Mahut then Benneteau playing down there this afternoon.

Sallydaisy
02-11-2017, 17:15
Benneteau wins 6'3, 6'3.
Bercy with some interesting results as always!

Sallydaisy
02-11-2017, 17:51
Sock was serving for the first set at 5'4 but was broken by Pouille who then held his serve for 6'5. Sock must hold to force a tie-break, bet the French in Centre Court are going nuts!

And into a breaker we go!

JerryD
02-11-2017, 18:01
First set to sock in a tie break that was full of errors. Come on sock! One more set!

Sallydaisy
02-11-2017, 18:02
Sock takes the first set 7'6 over Pouille.

JerryD
02-11-2017, 18:03
Yikes only 27% 2nd serve points won from sock in that set, which he only just won. Hopefully he can up that in this one.

Sallydaisy
02-11-2017, 18:23
Sock was 3'1 but now 3'3 in the 2nd set.

Sallydaisy
02-11-2017, 18:38
Sock wins 7'6, 6'3, ending Pouille's chances of making it to London???
Or making the calculations even more complicated.

JerryD
02-11-2017, 18:46
Happy with that win for sock though more for goffin than for sock. Lol. Not a great match for either. Jack said he was feeling better than yesterday coming from the brink of defeat. He felt today's match was cleaner. He could still make London if he wins the title and other contenders lose out. Maybe get to USA no 1. Don't fancy his chances of winning this tournie though.

Sallydaisy
02-11-2017, 20:52
1 set all, Rafa 6'3, 6'7(5).

Sallydaisy
02-11-2017, 21:21
Rafa had the trainer on at the end of the 2nd set, right knee issue which is still causing some problems although he is serving at 3'1 up in the 3rd. Broken, Cuevas serving at 2'3.

Rafa won.

It's very late for Cilic v Bautista-Agut to start!

JerryD
02-11-2017, 22:33
Hope this knee issue calms down though I guess he may have an easier time of it against the qualifier. Delpo v isner first up tomorrow. Looking forward to it. Given up on BA V Cilic opting for easier watching before bed. It's on serve at 4-3 in the first right now.

Realised it put this on wrong thread late last night so deleted and copied over:

Paris living up to its unpredictability, whilst not Rafa's greatest fan bit of a blow he had to pull out and then Isner got better of Del Petro and Juan Martin says not interested in being alternate, Benny putting out Cilic and Sock overcame verdasco in the end. Hope you had great time Sally!

The Serb played very well and has earned himself a barrowful of cash this week (thanks Rafa for the helping hand and get well soon). Whilst not my favourite Frenchman, I would like Benneteau to win a title before his retirement but certainly don't want Sock to go all the way.

JAMES4578

Sallydaisy
05-11-2017, 16:08
Filip faltering ... lost serve in the 3rd game to go 1-2, and again in the 5th to go 1-4.
Sock held his service games so the Serb is now serving at *1-5 to stay in the match.
