Yes I did notice a few people stopped posting scores so let me know if you want to quit permanently or start a new team, etc.

I am going to be away a fair bit in 2018 so not sure how frequently I will be able to predict. I have already notified my team. If there is someone else keen to join and has the approval of karanga and pabbers, I am happy to step aside. However, I am also happy to carry on if no takers.
Transatlantic Terriors are in again with cazza99, Genbrit and jaysee.

So far we only have Transatlantic Terriers as being confirmed. Are all the other teams on board? I know we are missing two members from two teams: Capital Aces and Matchpointers.

It will give us a chance if we are the only team ;) :maggie: :rusty:

Pretty sure we're still staying as we are....

Now confirmed that Fanatical Maniacs will have same team in 2018.
I'm checking to confirm but think Fanatical Maniacs will have same team.
I'm happy to stay together, but I've got a busy six months ahead, so might miss the odd one (as I have with the the first entry in Brisbane). So if you have a better option I won't be offended if you go for it. :)

I'm determined to remember more than last year.......

I think we should leave the FTM contests until Andy is back because a few people dropped out of scoring last year due to Andy's absence which wasn't really fair for their team members. What do you all think?
I agree RL. I can't get into predicting someone else, except maybe a British player but not sure which one that would be. Will go with majority though.

Suppose depends if Andy's absence will be another extended one, can see the point but still think would be pity to miss FTM for a while. Fine if only short break from it, will go with consensus though.

Hi Fiona, I also feel that it's hard to get into it without Andy and I wasn't great at posting my scores towards the end of last year :shamed: For me, FTM is just about Andy but will go along with what's decided.

1) Stop FTM and FTM Teams until Andy is back (except Grand Slams which still on for FTM).
2) Carry on FTM with Masters and Grand Slams only but no FTM Teams.
3) Carry on FTM and FTM Teams with Masters and Grand Slams only like we did last year.
Which most of you prefer? Best let us know before next Grand Slam Aussie Open start 15th January.

I think option 1. Suspend until Andy is back.
Option 1 for me too, I'm even interested in GSs if Andy's not in them.
When I was on CC we used to do predictions for up to a dozen matches everyday , men and women. It was too time consuming , really.
But, if we're going for option 1 , why not do two or three matches a day during Slams instead of just concentrating on one player?
Would spice things up a bit.

So far option 1 seem most likely.
For Aussie Open do we follow Rafa only or also follow 2nd player same time too? Then who?
Big Al: That be bit too difficult pick any random matches on each day cos won’t be enough time OOP released and put up FTM thread and time people notice and predict. That why need pick someone follow and put FTM thread up as soon they win or lose way before OOP release and change deadline after OOP release.

Yes, I remember doing that and it was great fun!
If Speedy is happy still to run it, I'd go for option 2 - let people take part if they want, but without the pressure of having to remember for their team.

Think my preference is option 2,those who really want to play FTM can do so when Andy absent and others not so interested know it won't affect team. Personally quite like Big Al's idea but doesn't seem to be a runner here.
I would like to carry on with FTM but it's difficult to know what player to follow with so many injured and doubtful for AO. I don't think we'll be able to pick a player and stick with him until Andy's back - we might have to pick a different player for each tournament (though of course it has to be a player who could win the tournament).

I'm with Option 1. Heart's not in it if Andy's not in it either.
Maybe we could do what Big Al is suggesting for the Grand Slams?
I'm for option 1 as well.
If Option 1 is taken up then I suggest we add the ATP world finals as well as the grand slams.
Happy to do more matches at grand slams, maybe at least all matches from quarter finals upwards like we do for Wimbledon.
Yes, I remember doing that and it was great fun!

It was, especially for the Slams , we even did the juniors and Legends Doubles ! Really made me take an interest in matches I never followed before.

Yeah, for the Slams , theres plenty of time between rounds, to work out who's going to be playing who.

Option 1 for me too. Find it even harder to remember to predict when Andy is not playing.
banskogirl
03-01-2018, 23:02
Yes me too for Option 1. Heart not in it if no Andy.
How about option 1, and if we have to follow someone, following Jo or Kyle in the slams? I'd like to at least follow a Brit.

Sound like option 1 will happen. At moment Nadal is No.1 (we followed last year) and choices are limited at moment who can go far.
RoastLamb

So that means no more FTM and FTM Teams until Andy is back except for the slams? Just wondering coz the FTM thread is up for Brisbane.
Speedy Hawk
05-01-2018, 17:52
Brisbane was started before this talk. Brisbane will count and after that probably only grand slams.
Speedy Hawk
06-01-2018, 11:57
Shall we follow Rafa for Aussie Open? I think he probably only one can go far enough. We can change someone else for Roland Garros, Wimbledon and US Open.
Think best keep it simple for Aussie Open because we don’t know how everyone play cos start of season. Other slams will be easier to choose after few months of season been completed.

Rafa's been injured so he might go out early. I'd pick Federer (even tho' I am loathe to - lol).

Are we still doing from then? I thought option 1 was no more till Andy is back as Roastie said above or are we just doing AO for fun?

This option one I copy and paste my original post:
1) Stop FTM and FTM Teams until Andy is back (except Grand Slams which still on for FTM).
Grand Slams still on. In bracket part. Most seem happy do this. No FTM except grand slams. Means 4 FTM this year unless Andy comes back some point this year.
Are we still doing from then? I thought option 1 was no more till Andy is back as Roastie said above or are we just doing AO for fun?
Option 1 was grand slams only when Andy not playing. Do think the ATP world finals need including too though.

I hope we will do ATP World Tour Finals too. I will ask after US Open see if anyone wants do it. If enough want do it like at least 5 of us then I will do it.

Option 1 included GSs. We weren't given an option without GSs. However, I have no interest unless Andy's playing, or we follow a British player. It's just abit unfortunate if affects my team's scores.

Geez, WTF not till November. Let's wait and see how the year goes. Are slam results going to count towards the annual scores or not?
JAMES4578
06-01-2018, 21:27
Option 1 maybe wasn't quite clear, knew would be doing FTM for slams but will it count for FTM Teams as well as individual?
I would've chosen an option to do no FTM's until Andy returns even Grand Slams but chose option 1 as that was the nearest. I would also like to support an UK player if we have to do Grand Slams.

Option 1 only Grand Slams FTM. No teams etc. You see other options I include FTM Teams. Option 1 don’t.

I am reposting options again:
1) Stop FTM and FTM Teams until Andy is back (except Grand Slams which still on for FTM).
2) Carry on FTM with Masters and Grand Slams only but no FTM Teams.
3) Carry on FTM and FTM Teams with Masters and Grand Slams only like we did last year.
1) FTM only in Grand Slams (4 FTM in 1 year unless include WTF, decide nearer time). No FTM Teams.
2) FTM in Masters and Grand Slams. No FTM Teams.
3) FTM in Masters and Grand Slams and FTM Teams.

Probably better I say now. Option 1 most picked out. So we go with option 1.
From Aussie Open and rest of year will be FTM in Grand Slams (Aussie Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and US Open). Maybe World Tour Finals see how everyone feels nearer time.
No FTM for Masters or other tournament until Andy is back.
