Just over two weeks (can't wait ) to the start of Brisbane and as it stands these would be the top 8 seeds. The top 4 seeds receive a bye in the first round.
1. Nadal
2. Dimitrov
3. Andy
4. Kyrgios
5. Nishikori
6. Raonic
7. Muller
8. Schwartzman
Bahamian resident Kyle is also in the field. ;)

Cannot wait!!! Will be So good to see our boy again
Oh I so agree! But I’m still a little anxious about Andy’s fitness as we’ve heard so little about his recovery. He’s hoping that it is all unfounded!

I think we will all be anxious until we see him playing at the high level he was playing last year.
Keeping fingers and toes crossed!
Rafa has withdrawn from Brisbane :crying:

Ah thanks. That feels very late for draw. I keep checking ATP website. I don't need to until tonight then.

I was hoping Andy would play a wild card who got a walkover in the first round but no such luck. ;)

A rematch of the infamous DC tie between Kyle & Shapovalov in the first round.

I read Andy had lost, yesterday evening. Then, the sports person on radio five live said Andy was on his way to Brisbane. The sports person claimed it was very good news for all his fans.

I’m so excited at the prospect of seeing Andy again. These have been 5 rather desolate months! Just hope I’ll find him on a livestream. A good way to start 2018. Happy New Year everyone - and especially to Andy, Kim and their little family.

Earlier today I watched the later stages (end of first set and all of second) of the match between Alex De Minaur and Milos Raonic. A wildcard entry, having beaten Steve Johnson in round 1, Alex reached the QF stage with a magnificent win 6-4 6-4 although he lost serve at his first attempt to serve it out at 5-2. Admittedly Milos was playing his first match after injury and his serve percentage was not good in set 1 but this young lad has a VERY bright future. His next opponent is a qualifier Michael Mmoh.
I watched that match too Winnie. I also watched his match against Johnson. And I feel the same....Alex has a very bright future. And he gives lovely interviews too.

Kyle and Jo in action.
Great win for Kyle against Shapavalov in 3 sets :skippy:
Well done Kyle.
If the thought of waking up in a place you're happy with, and more of your hard earned in your pocket makes you play better?
More power to your elbow. I say!
If he keeps this up I may consider retiring next door to him! See what it can do for me.
Just think of it, all that lovely sunshine and more pennies for :wino:
Then again I would really miss the grand kids, arghh decisions decisions?
;);)

Kyle vs Dimi not before 7.00 pm local time - 9 am UK time I think.
So, a Kyrgios v. Harrison final. Both winners came from a set down.
Hmmm. Interesting. Harrison would have been Andy's first opponent....

Isnt kyrgios just the most annoying person. Halfway through the first set of a final and he arguing with fergus
and gerry about rules.

But he certainly earned the win. Nick outplayed Ryan. And Nick showed his other side during the aftermatch presentations.

I still am a fan of Krygios particularly because of Andy's attitude towards him (older brother "been there, got the T-shirt") and also his tennis. If Andy ended up coaching one day, that would be a great combination because Krygios would realize Andy was there for him and the respect he has for Andy might make him sort himself out!
I see absolutely why people are anti Nick but I can't help but like him. His talent is unquestionable and, when he can be bothered, his tennis is outstanding. I feel he is a tortured soul but, if he gets it together, he could set the tennis world on fire. I would love to see an Andy/Nick combination but, sadly, the timing is all wrong so unlikely to happen. Anyway, well done Nick - a well earned titile this week.
I was really pleased when Nick won his match today. Delighted he could do it 'at home', and I thought his tennis was superb. When he won, his celebration was decidedly low-key and remarkably humble. I loved his speech, especially when nearing the end of it, he turned around and asked someone behind him 'Is that it?' and on turning back again, he finished 'Yeah, that's it!' He is really entertaining to watch and in Andy's absence I will be supporting him (as well as a few others). I hope he can remain injury free.
