Saw there is to be a 'big announcement' from Queens at 10 p.m. tonight. Does anyone know anything about it?

Seeing is believing, he planned to play last year. ....

We are hoping for tix again this year. Don't mind who we see, there was an all star line up last year, most of whom didn't show up or lost early. Yet we saw 2 great semis and a great final.

But.... would be nice to see Andy .

Jackie and I saw Stan and Andy go out on the Tuesday last year, but I think this will be Andy's year again.

It may well be his first tournament back though ... winning it would be a big ask. If anyone can though Andy can :big grin:

Would love to go but it's so expensive and with play-offs looking costly might watch on tv as usual.

We skipped it last year as we were too busy and not exactly roling in it after Peru. I am considering one day this year probably the Tuesday to keep costs down. But it really depends on the September tie. If it's somewhere that o can afford butbos a stretch I'll need the money for that. If it's Japan I'll never stretch that far so may as well enjoy queens lol

Hope to go Tuesday. It is usually when Andy plays; maybe rafa too

Used to go regularly, but it's got so expensive - and the last time I attended the semi-finals they were all virtually unheard of players that got that far. Of course in the old days you could be sure of seeing Rafa on the Wednesday but now it's a 500 and there's a break after RG you can't predict who will play on which days. I think it's too much to pay if I can't be sure of seeing even one of my favourites.

Got to be done when you don't live that far away

We paid out to fly down from Glasgow for semis and final as it fits into the school week. Tickets were expensive and we bought them expecting me wd see the likes of Andy,Rafa, Stan - we didn't see any of them but the two semis and final we saw were fantastic and worth it- our only disappointment was that the final lasted so long we couldnt stay to see Jamie win the doubles as we'd have missed our flight. Really hope we can get tix this year. But harder though. Last year we paid for the membership but they've done away with that now. Getting online to buy tix in school is tricky. Crossing everything.

If you signed up to the British tennis team memebership as many of us did there is a presale starting 20th Feb 10am https://www.lta.org.uk/major-events/the-queens-club-championships/tickets/

JerryD

If not you have until 11.59 on 14th of Feb to do to access the presale

Oh I'm all signed up- Sallly sorted that for us. Just need school internet connection to play ball- and tix not to disappear in first half hour! Remember it being really hard to get on last year due to demand. Was a fluke really that I was able to get on the computer when they system started working. Here's hoping.

Whilst Queen's can be expensive not any more so than Wimbledon, however probably not as good value. Sometimes a lot of the top seeds exit early , no roof if there's bad weather and grounds can feel a bit cramped. Been once when it was totally washed out and another time virtually no play, however has been warm on other occasions. Not sure if I'll go this time, partly depends on Wimbledon tickets.

We just got tickets for the Tuesday. With the uso, wimbie and French open it's all we could stretch to in terms of pennies and holidays. Still excited though. It was more expensive than when I went in 2016 though :(

After hearing the good news about Andy’s return to grass the week before Queens I decided to buy tickets this morning - for Mon and Tues as don’t want to miss seeing him! What day did he play his first match last year?

themass15
30-03-2018, 15:47
He played his first match on Tuesday. I went with Jackie and saw him, Stan and Raonic all go out on the same day. Hopefully this year he will go all the way again. I have tickets for 4 days.

I was only thinking the other day what a great list it was .... all my favourite players are on the list but it still won't make up for my no 1 fave not being there though (if that's what ends up happening) :crying::crying:

Had a fantastic day at Queens on Tuesday. Last minute thing ... Gill's friend offered us club house grounds passes on Monday for the next day! We were so excited! Train cost as much as a ticket would have but no complaints given we didn't pay for the tickets!

I have not had time to get on here since coming home from the best day ever at Queens on Tuesday. To be there to witness Andy's first match back was truly fantastic and emotional. We were lucky enough to secure 2 courtside seats for the start of play and watched Grigor's match from there .... but we then lost when we left for a short while to meet up with other forumites outside :crying: We were gutted! Missed all of Djoko's match looking for a vantage point to watch Andy but then luckily we got a space on the balcony overlooking the staircase where the players walk down onto the court, so we were amongst the first to see Andy as he stood at the top of the steps waiting to be announced on to court! Good view of the court too but we did have to stand for the whole match. We had a rail to lean on though and were so close to all the players / coaches / media bods wandering on and off the balcony to see what was going on. There was a LOT of interest in Andy's match. Feel soooo lucky to have been there :shades:
