Well done Katie and Liam! Naomi had a good lead in the 1st set before a rain delay but sadly seems unable to sustain her level of late.
Great by KB and Liam
Anyone know what's happened to Katie Swan?
Anyone know what's happened to Katie Swan?
Katie played in the ITF Mexico tournament last week. She got through her first round match against a Russian qualifier but retired in the second round against Jaksic (Serbia). Hope it's nothing serious.

Not such good news for Heather - lost the first set tie break.
Especially as she served for the set at 5-4 and has already been broken in set 2.
Also irritating that Oceane Dodin, who knocked out Naomi in 3 sets in Q1, has retired in Q2 after losing the first set 1-6.
Poor from HW. Out in straight sets:-(
Heather lost to Haddad Maia in two sets.

And the second. He is out. I wonder what is going on?
It looks like Djok doesn't enjoy going to work anymore. Seems more like a chore to him which has to be borne. And what happened Goffin today? He won only the one game against Sousa.

Can't decide if he has come back too soon, or whether he is still in a bad place mentally. It's understandable that he would be rusty, but he just can't seem to get going at all

I am afraid Pat, Goffin was still having problems with his eye, watering etc, which is a shame as I like Goffin!!
Poor Goffin. That is a shame.

Think Djokovic likely has come back too soon but both physical and mental strength lacking, some fightback in 2nd but it didn't last (mind you didn't see first). Certainly real pity for Goffin to be struggling so much, Gasquet also poor in 2nd as went down in straights to Chardy.
Djoko looks as though he just doesn't want to be there. I'm not a fan but it's sad to see him like that. So sorry to hear about Goffin too.
Nishi looking a bit rusty too though he doesn't have that woeful air about him that Djoko had. Currently in the 3rd set against Millman.

From 'the horses mouth' on Thurday last.......
"The number 1 ranking is in my head a little bit, but no more than that," Federer said. "It's a mini-goal. It would be nice to stay there, but it's no more important than that......if I don't manage it, it's not the end of the world."

At least we can come up with the pun Federer's been put out to grass! Think he far prefers Wimbledon to French (where he'd have less chance) in any case.
Well done Thanasi. :bravo:
Well done to Denis who reached the third round beating Dzumhur. With Chung he won his doubles match against Krajinovic/Dzumhur.
The sport presenter, on radio five live, got a bit mixed up. He announced that Nadal had beaten Federer and then said Nadal would overtake Federer in the rankings because of him beating him. He then had to apologise and said he'd got it wrong as Nadal wasn't playing there.

That was a dour struggle between Querrey and Shapovalov. Well done Denis to come thru esp as his serve deserted him mid match. Neither player at their best.

I thought Nick had been quiet for a couple of weeks. Why does he get involved, does he think Thanassi can't stick up for himself. Why make enemies of people ??
Milos disposes of Chardy in straight sets , on he goes for now
Krajinovic no real threat to Delpo. He disposed of him in 2 sets. Young Frances is at it again! This time it's Berdy who was at the losing end. This match was held over from last night. In the final set Berdy had a 5-1 lead, but when play was stopped it was 5-4. Match went to a TB, but Berdy barely turned up at it! I hardly recognised Berdy with his longer locks: like it, kinda cute!

Great match between Potty and Milos. Very close and so much better than their semifinal at Indian Wells a couple of weeks ago. But Milos was pretty bad at the tiebreaks and lost. 5-7 7-6 7-6. Still, happy for Potty. Hope he can take the title. And as for Milos, I think having Goran as his new coach is proving to be very positive. He is playing so much better than recent months.

At least he has today off. Could be worse.
I'm really pleased Delpo won last night. I'm also equally as pleased that Milos made such a good match out of it, because judging by the score it was a very close match. A tough loss for Milos, but it is encouraging to see that he really does seem to be getting back to his best. In the meantime go Delpo!
Oh goody! I've just seen that Delpo vs Isner is scheduled for 6pm (BST) tomorrow. Great! Means we'll get to see it at a decent time for us.
An interesting match developing now between Anderson and PCB. I had watched the first set, won by PCB, but I moved on as the match wasn't overly exciting. Checked the score later to see that PCB was serving for the match so I thought I would just see it out. Before I knew it Anderson had won the set!! So we're now in the final set.....
PCB was robbed, he should have won 6-4, 6-4, the umpire denied him the point at 15 love, serving for the set.
Turned into a great match. That final set was brilliant. Intensity levels shot up. TB was inevitable. Anderson did have his chances but couldn't capitalise to take the match. Although PCB did have a harsh call while serving for the match in the second set, I don't think that's why he lost that game. He did have 2 match points, but I do admire his professionalism in knuckling down to the task in the third. He did produce some amazing passing shots. I did enjoy that third set!

Isner has certainly been around for a long time and tbh I thought he was past his peak, but definitely proved me wrong yesterday. It's hard to tell when Delpo is feeling tired as his demeanour is always so languid, but I do think he ran out of steam yesterday after the successful run he's had. Big John did well to capitalise on that. Not too fussed who wins between Isner and Zverev - nice to see different players doing well and in the final though. Another Fed romp to the final would have bored me rigid
Into a decider in the Miami final, currently 2-2.

It did become quite an exciting final and credit to Isner in coming through for his first Masters (even if not really one of my favs). Personally was rooting for Sacha but whilst still a good tournament he wasn't quite up to the task today.
Well we certainly got an exciting final !!
Congrats to Isner , he played great , and deserved that title !!
I really enjoy watching Sasha play too , so much talent !! Big things ahead for him I think !!
That turned into quite a decent match in the end. Climax to second set was amazing. I've never seen big John so excited before, but then he had every reason to be excited. Lovely speeches from both of them, they clearly have a lot of time for each other. Big John looks so different without his baseball hat! The best Miami Final I've ever watched was 2013(?) Andy vs Ferrer. Probably because it was Andy, but that final stands way out above all the others for me. Anyway, nice to see big John so happy. I reckon he deserves it.
Pleased for Isner he refrained from spoiling AM’s party in 2016, and gave James W his moment in 2015, so he is welcome to this one.
Interesting. A clean sweep for the Americans this year at Miami. Every winner was American except for the women's doubles when Barty, who was partnering Vandeweghe, was the only non-American.
