Not a great draw for Dan, second seed Max Purcell, who is down as #218 but certainly ranked higher than the one Dan lost to in Glasgow, hopefully Dan can stepup this time.

Well done to James and Dan.
We had a great day there today! Seeing Dan and James win and the others played really well. Marcus W was also in the doubles but lost too. Me thinks he has a little too much excess weight! Leon was there too.

Disappointing but Dan making some progress.
Wardy just started against Gabashvili.
Wardy takes the first set 7-5. Gabashvili struggling with an elbow injury, just called for the physio.
Just been fighting with the garden. Arrived in at set point. Excellent Mr Ward.
Gabashvili quits at *4-5 30-30 in the second set.
Gabashvili quits at *4-5 30-30 in the second set.
He could have let James W get the victory, properly. James W deserves a bit of luck, not to mention a few buckshee points. Well done.
Had to go out, so missed the end.
Well done James!

And nor are you allowed to take alcohol in although the two men behind Jackie and I yesterday were definitely drinking wine.
Also only 3 toilets which are outside, okay if it is not raining. Having said that we had a good day and the last match we saw between a young Japanese and a young Austrian was of a very high standard.
Wardy takes the first set 6-1.

Excellent result. Well played James - only lost 1 point when he got his first serve in (57%, 27/28 points).
Brilliant. Might have not helped AM, but it’s done wonders for Mr Ward. Excellent performance. Well done.

Just got home from the Loughborough Trophy, James was fab, just totally solid! From what I saw of his opponent in the other semi, I think James has a great shot at the title tomorrow!
GillyD and caro are very upset that no-one mentioned that there's no bar!
Can't they inject oranges with alcohol and take those in? :)
Well done James, good luck in the final. Good to see him back although I haven't been able to watch any of the matches.
GillyD and caro are very upset that no-one mentioned that there's no bar!
:laugh: ... we were mortified!! Had a really good day anyway and great to be there to see Wardy get the win. The doubles match was close and entertaining too. The other singles match between 2 Japanese players had us sniggering, the younger one’s body language reminded us of Andy on a VERY bad day. At times he looked like he could barely drag himself round the court between points but moved like a gazelle during them ;) .... and we had a proper drink on the train home :wino::wino:
oop for final day - http://www.protennislive.com/posting/2018/7918/op.pdf
Doubles at 11.00 and singles starts not before 1.00 pm after a minimum 20 minute break.

Not managed to see any of this tourney this week, so looking forward to seeing Wardy. Nice streaming on BBC Sport app on the smartTV
Looking like a Wardycoaster! Moriya takes the first set 6-2, Wardy a break up in the second.
I've just done a RB jinx. Back on serve.

Wardy in trouble now. Moriya serving for it

Pity but Moriya has been tough, hopefully Wardy can find way back!
JAMES4578
27-05-2018, 13:22
Breaks to love, not great game from Moriya though!
Only just started watching. Oops.
Come on Wardy!!
Moriya to serve for it again.
JAMES4578
27-05-2018, 13:30
Can there really be 4 successive breaks, come on James! Oh well not to be as Moriya takes it 6-2, 7-5. James saved 2 Mps but it wasn't enough. Pity but still a good run from Wardy!

Shame Wardy couldn't quite make his mark today, but still an encouraging week for him. Good to see him back

Oooh, close. Good battle by Wardy but not to be. Apparently, Moriya's results can be a bit inconsistent - unfortunately he was in fine form today.
