Think I'll be missing the Ladies (work!) but hope to make it to Boodles to see Sasha Zverev play as not seen him in live action before. Had enough of the ***** Spaniards in Marbella!!! But I'll take 'em as their matches involve Sasha and then Foggy who is always good for a laugh. Curious to see Tsitsipas live for the first time too - Taylor Fritz has been in there every day so far making up the numbers.

And then it'll be serious wine'o'clock as I'm having 3 days at Boodles, a day at the V&A (Frida Kahlo), a day for a complete pamper session and that'll gear me up nicely to get in the queue at Wimbledon around 6.30am on Tuesday!

Had a jolly day at Boodles! It was sooooooooo hot though as I'm in a stand facing south-west so it's relentless. Had to go in search of a cold drink before watching the end of Paire v Querrey. I love watching Benoit Paire - he's such a comedian! But that doesn't mean to say he can't play a mean game of tennis and Andy will need to be on his toes, knes and hips for his R1 match at Wimblers.
:wimbly:

Not long back at hotel for a reviving glass of very chilled Sauvignon.
Succumbed to a pint of Pimms at The Boodles ... so drove back very carefully (15mins).
(and of course I had eaten a large late lunch *cough*)

Wardy was clutching at his back a couple of times (that I saw) but tbh most players do a bit of 'clutching' of some of their parts during matches!!! Much twinging in the switch from clay to grass. Y'all do like to make mountains out of molehills!
;)

Tsitsipas is a fascinating player to watch - and definitely one for the future.
James, sadly, isn't any longer the future of British Tennis.

Korda is the spitting image of his dad, Peter Korda, who famously won the Ozzie Open 1998 against all the odds (and a weak competition including Marcelo Rios in the final) and became World #2. He failed 4 times to convert that to #1 ... He also beat Pete Sampras (defending champion) in the 4th Round of the 1997 USO, thereby serving notice that he might win a GS at some stage and did so 5 months later. He retired shorly before being banned for a doping offence (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petr_Korda).

Anyway, young Korda, to whom none of the above is relevant apart from an inherited talent for great tennis, is another one to watch. Boodles has a habit of showcasing them ...

No really big names tomorrow but a decent day of tennis watching ahead methinks.
I'm skipping the first match - am on holiday and Saturday is a lie-in so yah boo sucks!
I like watching Seppi and Kokki, and shall be interested to see what happens with Wardy.
Will pass on vibes from Glenys ...

So, to wrap up The Boodles. I only managed 90mins yesterday and set off later because (a) a friend and I met for an impromptu lunch outwith the event and (b) the OOP changed so I decided to skip Stakhovsky v Seppi. Anyhoo, Kokkinakis was highly entertaining and Tomic good humoured. The results are below. Wardy came up short against Popsy and I left after the first set to scuttle back to the air-conditioned bar of the hotel I'm staying at.

I loathe this heat and there's another 10 days at least to come.
