I'm going to miss Rogers Cup this year as I'm off to New Zealand all August. Very sad to miss the men play there esp. as I could have met up with Xenon who no doubt would have introduced me to lots of players (she has no shame! lol). Very happy to see Andy's going to play there so I'm sure I'll be watching on my tennistv app on my ipad in the middle of the night in NZ.

Word that Andy has now pulled out of Toronto.
@stu_fraser Andy Murray has withdrawn from the Toronto Masters. Will instead arrive early in Cincinnati prepare there.Murray: "I’ve played quite a few matches this week in Washington and I need to be smart with my rest and recovery as I come back from injury." 9:45 PM - 3 Aug 2018
Sad for Xenon and the others who were looking forward to seeing him there.

I guess pacing himself is a bigger issue if Andy is going deeper into tournaments than he was expecting so early in his return.

Sensible decision in view of how much tennis he's played this week.

See Wawrinka got the better of Kygrios after slow start, taking it 1-6, 7-5,7-5. Disappointed Nishikori out falling to Haase 7-5,6-1.

Some of the youngsters coming through here, Tiafoe beat Raonic, Khachanov bt Carreno Busta(12) and Shapovalov bt Fognini(14)
Wee Diego at it again. He beats Querrey! (Pleases me mightily!)

Me to. I do feel a faint stirring of sympathy for Raonic, (in as much as I feel sympathy for any player not called Murray or representing GB.......!!!), I think a combination of injury and the up and coming youngsters means he has missed the boat.

Good for Diego though wasn't so pleased Dom out to Tsitsipas though the Greek player is promising. Wawrinka again came back from a 6-1 drubbing , this time taking next two in breakers to get better of Fucsovics. Bit of a surprise Tiafoe put Raonic though had some good results. Whilst Milos struggled for consistency somewhat was in Wimbledon Quarters.
Anyone watching Djok andTsitsipas? Really interesting. Tsit giving Djok a really hard time. Currently the Greek is a break up in the final set.
I really like Tsit's game - c'mon boy!
Wow! Tsitsipas has just taken out the Wimbledon champion. What a scalp for him to claim. He held his nerve very well.
Well done, Tsitsipas! :clap::clap::clap:
Hugely impressed by Tsitsipas & not because it was Novak he beat but great tennis, brilliant match & a lot better player than Sascha( eek yes I am sticking my neck out there,) great match to watch, plus the young Felix Aliassime(good tip from Fiona) Yes great match to watch..... just wish they had names we can spell

Seems it was a great performance from Tsitsipas (even if it was not quite the best of Djokovic) well done!

Nadal as expected put out Wawrinka but two tight sets, will now face Cilic who easily beat Schwartzman 6-3,6-2. Khachanov put out Isner in 2 breakers and will take on Haase who got better of Shapovalov. Will be Dimitrov v Anderson and A Zverev v Tsitsipas.
We need to talk about Kevin! He has just beaten Grigor comprehensively: 6-2, 6-2. It looks to me like his mental strength is growing in stature day on day-almost matches his height. He gave Dimi a real run around and as good a scrambler as Dimi is, he really struggled with some of Kevin's shots. I'm now looking forward to watching the "youngsters", Stefanos vs Sascha.
Stefanos not finding his best game tonight (yet). Probably hard to come down after such a huge win yesterday.
Stefanos has woken!!!! ...Come ONNNNNN
Wow! Match has really come alive now. Great TB. Into the decider we go.
Knew he could do it, great fight back, good result!! Afraid I have to agree with Greg R for once, Stefanos does remind me of Borg also!
My goodness. After the way he started I thought Tsiti was down and out! What a win from behind. Last game a bit dodgy. A poor line call robbed Sascha of a point but he didn't challenge and ball was well in. Then a lame double fault handed the match to Tsiti. But well done him. He hung in there and toughed it out. Very entertaining.

Stepanos certainly having a great tournament, though wonder if Sacha let it slip to a certain extent-still well done!
Semis are Nadal v. Khachanov and Tsitsipas v. Anderson.

Nadal outplayed in first set, faced sp's at 5-1 down and lost it 6-2, however came back to take next two 6-4,6-4.
Well Done Stefanos!!! ..Good Luck for the Final!! Must admit did feel a bit sad for Kevin!!
Wow again Tsitsipas! I'm shaking my head here in utter wonderment. What a player! Great close match lasting nearly 3 hours. The one thing Tsiti did not do so well was challenge! He wasted most of his challenges, but still came thru. Kev played well too. Happy 20th birthday tomorrow Stefanos!
yayyyy Tsitsipas , what a great player he is !!!!! :cheer:
Now if only , Khachanov could beat Nadal in the other semi , oh what joy !!!!!

Tsitsipas certainly making waves with another scalp in Anderson, pretty sure Nadal will be his final opponent though- if so spaniard still clear favourite.
true James , but still holding out hope !!!!
Not to be I'm afraid, it was a late start for Rafa due to rain delay but he gets the win 7-6, 6-4!
Looking forward to the match tonight. History will be made whoever wins. Rafa if he wins will increase his record of ATP masters titles to 33. Tsitsipas if he wins will win a title having beaten 5 top 10 players (outside the world tour finals) - which nobody has done in the open era.

Final is due to start at 9.00 pm UK time.
@ Cazza - didn’t a certain AM do that at The World Tour Finals in 2016? Didn’t he beat:-
Djokovic, Wawrinka, Cilic, Raonic, Nishikori en route to the title?
Or am I confused again?

Yes but that is the world tour finals where most players are in the top 10. It does say that in the ATP article. Have edited my post to make it clearer.

That’s ok. I thought I was missing something:-)
A bridge too far for Tsitsipas tonight but he will learn from it. I'm really looking forward to watching him going forward.
One match to far I think for young Stefanos, but a brilliant week for him, more to look forward to!! Well Done Rafa!!

Good fightback from Tsitsipas to extend the set, maybe not his best today but certainly showing potential and Nadal was playing well. Mind you did not see a lot of the tournament.
For a wee while in the second set I thought this kid is going to do it again...take the match to a decider. But Rafa was too strong. Congrats Rafa. Turned out quite entertaining in the end but I have come to expect nothing less now when Stefanos is playing. Loved their speeches, Stefanos is a very natural speaker.

So happy for Rafa! Canada has certainly given him some wonderful results. And what a fantastic week for Stefanos. He's got a great future ahead of him. Amazing! I wish I could have been at the final today but I watched it during breakfast at my airbnb in NZ. Now I'm looking forward to some Andy at Cincy.
