Hi

This year Wimbledon some manage get so many tickets and I like how?? Anyway it seem quite lot of you have LTA membership.

Was looking at website. Someone like me have be Team membership £30 per year. That quite bit compare to £20.

I am wondering it worth getting it? Is better chance get Wimbledon ticket from LTA Wimbledon ballot (compare to normal Wimbledon ballot)?

I see they open September 2018 for Wimbledon 2019.

Re the ballot, no I don't think it gives you a better chance, but it does open up the resales. In saying that, I think they will have a rethink given the way things transpired this year. We are mostly Team members for Davis Cup tickets anyway.

It's worth it in that it gives you another shot at Wimbledon tickets so if your public ballot entry doesn't drop lucky you have another chance. Worked for me this year - nothing in the public ballot but success in the LTA one. I have also had it happen the other way around. It just increases your odds.

I’ve never won in the lta ballot, only once in the public one, this year, but I know many who have so i like to be in wotgba chance. Also the resales this year were great. Kev got manic Monday in court 1 and I got the men’s quarter on court 1. Then on the last Saturday I managed to get tickets for the men’s final on centre :) my first ever wimbie final :) so it’s the best money I ever spent. Plus as Hawkeye says many are members for the D.C. I first joined Lta Years ago for pre sales for D.C. tickets.

On the BTTM returns, i think the only day i didn't see available was mens semis. Felt like a kid in a sweet shop, turned down 7 days. Still can't believe I rejected choice of Centre, court1 or Court2 on manic Monday. Obviously, this was the first year, so just like the classic ticketmaster sales, next year will be more difficult as more people join and others are aware and can plan for last minute tickets

Tried to find a better thread for this, but this is better than starting a new thread...

I had an email today telling me that they are changing their membership scheme to the Advantage scheme, and that I have been put in at a level that doesn't apply to me as I am not a tennis player.

This means paying a tenner more a year than I need to, with no extra benefit.

I got the email too. I suspect that because we're already paying £30p.a. for our Team Membership that they've just moved those folks across without prior discussion. Given we're not "players" we can't make use of the additional bits of discount benefits (or stay at the NTC, perish the thought!) so the Fan + at £20p.a. would seem to be sufficient - especially for those wanting to go to Davis and Billie Jean Cup events.

I've contacted them to ask about being downgraded as there doesn't appear to be any way to do it online.

I’ve also contacted them as I wish to keep the basic Adult Team membership. Found info on their site very poor, couldn’t even find how much the upgraded Advantage scheme cost!

They managed to mess it up. I got downgraded all the way to Advantage Fan rather than Fan+. I have asked them to fix it, but least I appear to have the option to upgrade online if they don’t.

Silverdee, they have transferred you across to the equivalent level of the new scheme, at the same price. But if you aren’t a player of the game, then you won’t need the extra benefits that you get above the Fan+ level.

I let mine lapse. I wont attend this perverted version of D.C., and with my joints I won’t manage Fed Cup.

My LTA Membership lapsed a while ago and probably not worthwhile now, unlikely to be attending Davis or the Billie Jean King Cup in the near future . Not sure the Wimbledon benefits entice me (we do not know how many spectators will be permitted this year anyway )

I'm off to see what I think, it was only really worth it for DC, for me :grrr:

Did you mean a tenner more per year? I used the membership historically for Wimbledon resale and see I probably should downgrade to Fan+ (many thanks for the link to that table) - will probably do that when my membership is up in September

I have asked them to fix it, but least I appear to have the option to upgrade online if they don’t.I got an email to say that I had been moved to the right level, but when I logged in it was still on Advantage Fan. "Not a disaster" I thought, "as I can upgrade online". Came home to an email saying that they had moved me back up to Compete, and when that expires I will be automatically moved down to Fan, at which point I can upgrade myself...

You could call that a long rally of emails.

I was moved to compete + in the new system which is no use to me. Decided not to do anything until renewal date when I cancelled my fee but could only change it to ‘compete’ member. Sent email to request changing to fan + and was told I can do it online when my membership was changed. I want to ensure I have options for buying Wimbledon tickets if there are any saved for members in the online sale. Has anyone managed to change from compete to fan+ online and if so how? Thank you.

I had a look and couldn't work out how to do it ... and decided to wait until about 6 weeks before my renewal is due and email them until they agree to change it. And/or just cancel the existing and rejoin at the cheaper rate of £20 for Fan+. I'd like to keep options open regarding ballot and DC tickets for futures years so will be staying as a member.
;)

I’ve eventually made it to Fan+, but no thanks to anything that the LTA did. If you allow your paid membership to lapse, you should automatically move down to Fan, at which point you can move yourself up to Fan+. I think I’ve actually lost some money, but it’s really not worth following up.

Thank you but the trouble is that I’ve moved from compete + down to compete by cancelling my payment. I can’t find a way of moving over to fan or fan+. The only option I’m given is to rejoin compete +. I could probably join fan + under a new login but can’t find a way to opt out of the compete option so would end up with 2 memberships which I’m sure isn’t allowed. Guess I’ll try emailing again to see if they can give me proper instructions.

Ah, you need to update your profile to reflect the fact that you don't play.

Thanks Hawkeye, I’ve done that now and written to the LTA as I was still unable to change to fan+ online.
