*Robbed of 1st by outrageous mid tournament rule change

Do I sense a hint of bitterness? As a non-FTM player (only because I keep forgetting - i would obviously be really good at it) I have no idea what you are talking about!

Thanks for keeping all the records and posting the scores, Jay.

But what are you talking about? I didn't know there was a change of the rules?

Thanks for keeping all the records and posting the scores, Jay.

But what are you talking about? I didn't know there was a change of the rules?lol you where busy at Wimbledon , while i was being stitched up

Linda

Oh, it was way back at Wimbledon time? Is this change in the rules likely to affect anyone else? Do I need to know about it?

-J-

Oh, it was way back at Wimbledon time? Is this change in the rules likely to affect anyone else? Do I need to know about it? :rolling: others will tell you there are two sides to a story but basically in the ftm i predicted rafa to win in four sets , i gave up my chance to win a PS by having rafa win all four sets in the hope that i could pick up points for getting the set score right (increasing my odds) i got one right so i should have got 3 points but they rulled it illegal and only gave me one point, those two points cost me the the Wimbledon FTM championship

Linda
30-10-2011, 18:33
I see (I think). But I thought you could only score for sets if you got the winner and number of sets right? So for instance, if you predicted Andy to win a 3 set match 6-3, 6-3 and he actually won 6-3, 6-7, 6-2 you wouldn't get a point for the first set being right, you'd only get one point for predicting the winner - and if he lost 6-3, 6-7, 2-6 you wouldn't get any points at all. There have definitely been times when I have got the first two sets right but have ended up with no points because the wrong player won the third set. Or have I misunderstood the point you are making?

-J-
30-10-2011, 18:37
no because i did it with rafa winning say 6-4 6-4 6-4 6-4, so i got the third set right , so i should have got a point for him winning i should also have got a point for the third set and a point for him winning in four
to be honest its all academic now i just had to make the point seeing as who eventually went on to win it

Linda

Oh I see. I don't know what would have been the answer in that case.

As a minor point (since I didn't really deliberately enter this competition, but just noticed I seemed to have scored int it), should I have scored something for the USO pickem for an overall 20th ?

Yorkie

Hi eblunt

You do not need to enter the CofC by deliberate choice you enter it by entering the sub competitions that make up Cof C.

I'll leave J to look at your point on USO pickem

Well done Cazza and Linda but I must say I am pretty pleased with third particularly given I don't normally do FTMs which score a lot of points.

Thanks J for compiling the scores for us over the year and I know the changes of websites have made this more complicated than it should have been but hpefully thats a thing of the past for 2012.

Thank you J for the hard work.

As I pointed out though, your scores for the USO pickem are wrong ( I score 20 on it ), so everyone else's points go down which might change some minor places
