I have just watched 'Andy Murray's 50 Best Points' on youtube. It brought tears to my eyes.
Andy, welcome back, just hope that you can regain some of that magic we've all enjoyed so much in the past. Good luck tonight - praying all goes well for you
The Very Best of Luck Andy!!!:thumbup:

Drat. It's raining in Washington. Looks like Andy's match will be delayed
Rain is still puring down heavily but forecast is OK for later on.

Andy has just levelled one set all
Can't find any posts! Andy has just levelled one set all! Guess he was nervous in the first set and perhaps worried about the court dryness (only following on FS). x

Think it's safe to say Andy is chuffed
Worth every shattered nerve to see that young man win!!...well Done Andy!!!:clap:
Happy, happy !! Forgotten how stressful it is, especially watching FS!
Excellent. I thought it was tonight. I have just rejoined Sky Sports for AM. Will watch it later.
Hello fellow night owls! Well wasn't that worth it! When I heard the commie say "match point Murray" that was music to my ears! Even though it took 7 in the end, it was a great test for Andy to come thru that. It was fascinating to watch Andy battle his way thru the rust and find a way to win. What was most certainly not rusty was his intensity, competitiveness and ardour. So so good to see. Welcome back Andy. This is really like old times.:bravo::clap::clap::clap:

Only seen most of 3rd but have it recorded. Anyway a gutsy display from Andy in coming through that tight decider. Looked a bit dicey after the missed chances but came through well in the end. Great stuff and certainly up for it,well done!:dance: Likely to need to step it up in next round with Edmund but that’s for other day .
Up to 644 in the Live Rankings.......

Great to wake up and find Andy had won, although it sounded like a hard fought battle. Onwards and upwards.

Only saw from the middle of the 3rd set so will catch up with the replay tonight. In the latter stages there did still seem to be a slight limp so wondering if that was there the whole match? Didn't seem to be bothering Andy mind you
I'd forgotten how stressful Andy's matches usually are! I watched it all and if grit and determination can do it, Andy will be fine. I thought Mac Mc played great. I've been following him since he came on the Challenger circuit (mainly intrigued by his name) but only on LS so it was good to see him "live". I noticed Andy's limp from the start but it didn't seem to bother him although his sharpness has some way to go yet. Interesting to hear that Andy found playing under the lights upset his rhythm early on. Hope his next match is earlier, although the forecast for the week isn't great.
On my way home, from my holiday yesterday, I heard a sports presenter on radio two say that Andy would be playing and it was his first hard court match since he had back surgery!!! I heard he'd won, when I woke up. I was hoping he would win in straight sets, but a win in three sets is a good start.

Just great news - well done you guys for staying up to watch him - especially when it was delayed.
Sounds like a tough one but one he was thrilled to win. And we are so pleased to have him back again.
Hope that wasnt a limp LoveTennis but maybe that's just what he lives with now?
As long as he can move freely that's the main thing.

Great news - looking forward to the recording tonight.
We are all well practiced with nerves and 'behind the sofa' antics on this forum but it will be nice to watch this one relaxed.
In many ways I think losing the first set and then going on to win is a good sign - Andy's raw determination shines through again.
As for Kyle .... well that's another matter......but it must be pretty hard for Kyle too

I can’t believe it!! My Sky Recording just ended during the last game of the match so I didn’t see Andy win. Would like to complain, question is how? Those of you hoping to see the recording may be affected too.

Yes I wondered if that might just be how it is and it's not actually a problem for him.

Great shout out by Andy at the end. I noticed he was favouring his right leg several times, still getting some discomfort in that hip. I wonder where the name Edie came from for Sophias' sister.
Was there ever a definitive view of McDonald's over-reach?

Edie seems to be quite popular at the moment. My daughter was working at a nursery recently and there were three girls named Edie in the under two bracket

Andy said that he was happy with his movement, so maybe it looks worse than it is.
Perhaps Edie or Edith is a family name or maybe they just like it.

Not really but it was directly in the umpire's eye line.

Edina from Ab Fab? Sure Kim's a fan :rolling:
Good win for Andy too.
Edit. On Reporting Scotland news reader just said Andy beat 'MacKenzie McDonald Murray'
That really would be taking the Scottish link a bit far..

Watched the replay this evening. Andy was hitting the ball better as the match went on. MacDonald was a really tough opponent so well done Andy for finding a way past him on his first match out.
Was there ever a definitive view of McDonald's over-reach?
It seemed obvious to me on TV over here. It was a shame, not for Andy, but he was focusing so much on not touching the net. I'm not sure the ball would have gone over the net if he hadn't touched it!!
I was out all day with my lovely twin grandsons from New Zealand but I sat and watched the match when I got back It was SO awesome to watch Andy again and to see the clear evidence of his fighting spirit. I thought he did amazingly well to come from behind like that to get the W.
Very well done Andy
Onwards and upwards!
You still have a lot of tennis in you!!
I couldn't stay up for it as I start work at 7.30 on Tuesdays. If I'd known how delayed it was, I could have seen the end! I am up at 5.45 anyway on Tuesdays so I could just have got up earlier. Steve is up at 04.45 when he's on early shift so I could have got up with him. Oh well, enjoyed watching it on catch up on tennistv. Hopefully tonight's won't be delayed and I will be able to watch live.
