I have heard so much about young Felix Auger Aliassime, so last night curiosity led me to watch some of his match vs Munar on the clay of Rio. He's good! He's through to his first ATP semi. And a 500 at that!

And yet Canadian sports tv showed the first two matches from Rio then cut off the feed just before Felix's match. Unreal!

That is totally incomprehensible!

Now watching young Felix A-A playing his semi vs Cuevas. Felix a break up in the final set. As he has chosen to play in Rio I'm assuming clay is his favoured surface?

Ha! Ha! I've just seen the draw for Sao Paulo next week and guess what...Felix is drawn to play Cuevas in the first round!

Dramatic last game but A-A makes it to his first ATP final. Plays Laslo Djere who had a w/o into the final. I read earlier that Djere has lost both his parents to cancer. That is so sad. I think he's only 23.

Jose Morgado on Twitter has satisfied my curiosity about clay being the surface A-A prefers to play on...so perhaps he will be a clay court 'specialist'? A follow up to Nadal?

I think he and Denis won the French Open junior doubles title. So he's comfortable on clay. It would be AWESOME if he was the NEXT Rafa - for Canada!

It is a shame the final clashes with Dan's final and Baptiste.

Due to the rain delay in Dan's match I was able to catch the end of the final in Rio. Djere won in 2. Felix maybe not quite at his best tonight but hey, what a week he has had. He can set off for Sao Paulo now and face Cuevas all over again. Will certainly be keeping an eye on him. Lovely speech from Djere...emotional too.
