Stan breaks in the 8th game and has just held to take the match 6'7, 6'3, 6'3.

Shame for Evo but he's done well to come through Qualies and Stan IS hitting form right now.
Battle of the beautiful backhands won by the Swiss.

Just an FYI, in case any of you don't know. We put our clocks forward, Indian Wells is now 7 hours behind UK.

Disappointing Tsitsipas out, though Felix Aliasime one to look out for. Coric went down to Karlovic 6-4,7-6 and Kygrios could not build on the Mexican Open win as Kohlscreiber got the better if him 6-4,6-4 (not totally surprising). Did not see this match but the Australian had another troubled day.

And apparently this is Dom and Frank's last tournament together. They will be splitting up after this. Would be nice for them to finish on a high.

certainly a day of upsets, great win for Kohli though Djokovic was abit of sorts. The German bit tight at 5-2 but no mistake 2nd time. Good win for Dom and Frank!

Please forgive me for venting. But I am SO TICKED OFF that Canadian sports channels are not showing WTA tennis outside of the slams. We have a Canadian woman in the Indian Wells FINAL for pete's sake and they aren't showing the match on tv. You have to BUY a subscription to an app. Listen, I already pay almost $200 a year to have tennistv on my computer, I don't want to pay more for another app. It should ALL be on tennistv. Our Cdn tv broadcasters use the tennistv feed anyway. I'm so fed up with it all. Women's tennis gets shafted. I know it's all about economics bla bla bla. But I'm so disappointed they're not showing Bianca's matches at least. She has Romanian heritage so I wouldn't be surprised of she represents them in the future because I'm pretty sure they'll give her every support possible INC. NATIONAL TV COVERAGE!!!

There, vent over. Thanks!

Sad but not unexpected, Rafa has pulled out with a knee injury

JAMES4578

Not surprising really with Nadal struggling somewhat in 2nd set during his win over khachanov , Russian could not put enough pressure on him in end though. Two breakers with Thiem and Raonic, now into 3rd-would rather Dom came through but good contest! In the UK ATP tour mostly on Amazon from this season as well as Tennis TV rather than TV sports channel (no tennis at all on Sky sports whilst Eurosport still have a few slams ) ,whilst since 2013 WTA has been mostly on BT Sport.

I'm glad Rafa withdrew. I'd hate him to lose to you know who yet again.

Disappointed Milos lost but Thiem clearly had the edge. And Milos did take a set off him. Anyway, he's playing well and uninjured (so far) so keeping fingers crossed for a good year.

Good final and great fightback from Thiem as he edged Federer out in the final set, pleased for Dom! Roger may not be quite the same force but still not easy to crack in final.

Only posting now as the match finished very late last night. I enjoyed watching Domi gradually imposing himself on the match. After the first couple games when Fed broke early I thought, oh no not another one-sided match. But one-sided it was not! Domi really held his ground and produced some great tennis. Fed played some good stuff too, but in the end Domi found a way. Both made good speeches, but it was so nice to see the delight and happiness in Domi's face. So happy for him. Well played Domi!:clap:

Really happy for Dom!:clap::clap::trophy: Shows he can deliver in the big moments - he so deserves this breakthrough. Gives me high hopes for the French. He's played great tennis there and made SF several times; would love to see him go all the way and get his first slam to go with his first masters.

Thrilled for Dom. Great win for him. Must admit at start also thought "here we go again". He played well and really showed what a fantastic game he has.

Was a great match. Pleased for Dom. Glad that he fought back, some good tennis. Missed watching the first set, which was probably a blessing.

Anyone beating Feddykins, and wiping the smile off his smug face gets my vote.
