Hi everyone.

The 2 minute 'silence' on 11/11/11 at 11am is observed both nationally, and world-wide, as
a mark of respect, and in remembrance, for those who gave their lives in defence of their country.

In keeping with many other organisations we've decided to temporarily close the forum for the 2 minutes. It's a very short interlude in everyone's busy lives but gives us all a chance to reflect.

Anyone trying to post or log in during that time will see a message advising them to return after
the 2 minutes and will include the "Ode of Remembrance" as given (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ode_of_Remembrance) below.

Andy Murray is a supporter of the 'poppy' campaign on the website (http://www.poppy.org.uk/) of The Royal British Legion - see photo below.

Thank you.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them."

This is a reminder that the forum will be closed for 2 minutes today
from the strike of Big Ben at 11.00 on 11/11/11.

This reflects a 2 minute stoppage across all walks of life in the UK.
There are some details here (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-15676087) on the BBC website.

Thanks for arranging this on here as I'm sure the contribution is welcome.

Well done. Only just seen this...I came on for a few minutes after 11 0'clock and then not again until after 10.

BBC1 "covered" the 2 minutes silence, although it wasn't in the TV guide.
