It's an early start for 'oor Andy as he takes on Andy Roddick for the 11th time at 9.30am on Thursday 10th November at 9.30am UK time!!! Hope Muzzah will be awake!!! (and the fans too ...)

Anyhow, Mandy leads the H2H (http://www.atpworldtour.com/Players/Head-To-Head.aspx?pId=MC10&oId=R485) 7-3 against Randy and the most recent win, at Queens 2011, was a bit of a rout (6'3, 6'1) with the 29yr old American at one point asking Murray to "keep it social".
IIRC Murray then sent down a booming ace to which Roddick replied "that's not social"!!!
Much will depend on who starts out of the blocks quickest in this match and AndyM has been much better at doing that of late. Even if it went to 3 sets the records suggest that he'd find a way to beat ARod.
Catch the match 9.30am UK time Thursday 10th November.

Unfortunately my screen is projected onto a wall so all students can see what I am doing.
Hmm...doesn't that bulb need replacing any day now ..... do they need a consolidation lesson working on their own.... tricky, tricky....

Cross-curricular module could work well here David! I could see English, geography, maths, social studies, history, PE, science, MFL, all fitting in well with watching a tennis match!

Hmmm - the first OOP said 11am, not 10.30 am. Sneaky. I went to bed planning on a 10am UK start - luckily I switched on the computer early.

Don't use Quick Reply. If you click on Reply to Thread you'l see a little smiley image between 'A' and the World icons on the upper tool bar. That Smiley icon gives you a selection of 15 to choose from. If you click Go Advanced at the bottom of the posting box you'll get the full list of about 60. Also, when you want to post if you double-click on Reply to Thread it brings up the Advanced box anyway.

The next match is going to be very interesting to see just where Andy's game is at against one of those who have the power to potentially hit through Andy, though on this court....

Saw this on the telly this morning. Andy really did give Roddick a good thrashing!
It was a masterclass from our Andy, really good to see him play so well. Can't help but feel sorry for Roddick though - he's just not able to be competitive with the top players anymore.

I would have but it was the whole of the island that was off - verrrry frustrating! Never mind - hopefully they'll show the highlights tonight and I can look forward to a scintillating performance against Berdych tomorrow. :)

I can only assume it's because there's another 3/4 hr to go before the night session starts at 7.30pm local time and they had the slots open in case the earlier matches took a long time.

Amazing Andy - was a terrific match, thoroughly enjoyed it before I went to work this morning.
Great win - thought Andy looked a little lack lustre against Chardy - couldn't seem to find the lines or his range but fortunately of course it didn't matter. Today he was the player we've seen of late. I had to laugh when one of the commies on Sky - forget which one - said something to the effect that of course whilst Andy M was playing well, Fed, Nole and Rafa, if they watched the match, would all think "I can do that", so Andy playing so well aganst ARod wouldn't really worry them. What WAS he on about - of course they can't "do that", nobody does what Andy does and we know that on any given day, with an on form Andy, he can beat any of them. So they should be quaking in their tennis shoes!!!
Although I thought Andy played really well yesterday, I think at times Roddick made him look even better than he was. Duck boy's court coverage isn't great these days, and if he doesn't think he'll get to a ball, he doesn't bother running for it which makes it look much better than it is. Also, Roddick really wasn't attacking Andy's second serve. Andy was just rolling them in to mid-court by the end, and Roddick still just bunted them back with nothing on them. We'll get a much better idea about how well Andy's playing when he plays Berdych today.

Don't think Roddick made Andy look better than he was at all. Wouldn't have made any difference if Roddick had taken on the second serve with more purpose. He still would have had to get out of the rally alive. That was a clear example of a player being in form and in complete control of the court from start to finish.
