Internationally renowned Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja will also perform as the new No.1 Court roof is closed for the first time, accompanied by Grange Park Opera's chorus. Faith and Calleja will also be accompanied live by the BBC Concert Orchestra, with the four music performances interspersed amongst three tennis matches.
Tennis players include
Martina Navratilova
John McEnroe
Jamie Murray
Venus Williams
Lleyton Hewitt
Goran Ivanisovic
Pat Cash
Further players will be announced in due course. The final order of play won't be announced until shortly before the event in order to allow for any last minute additions to the line-up.

7 tennis players, strange number, wonder who they’re waiting for? In my dreams guess who? Looking forward to going tomorrow. Any other forum members going?

I hadn’t thought of that. I bet you are right. If so I will be very jealous. Fingers crossed.

My sister is going. I was next in line to be offered the ticket but am happier to watch on tv and save myself £110. Not that enthused by the lineup plus I have tickets for court 1 on middle Saturday. Hope those going enjoy their day as it's always a great place to be.

In a recent interview andy said he was only allowed to hit balls from a static position until June so even an exho would be out the question just now. Wouldn't to be surprised if he had some sort of walk on role though.

I am sure he will play a part tomorrow.
Could have got tix for it but still in Bella Italia.

Venus was in the list above - there are still only 7 players listed on the website.
Could it also depend on who made it to the final in Rome.

I was checking the Wimbledon site and it was there that I noticed Venus had been added since I last looked. So there’s still hope!

This is a complete aside but I once worked with a guy called Joe Calleja in Toronto, and his parents were from Malta. Ooh I wonder...

Yeah it's not him. App. there are LOTS of Joseph Callejas in Malta. Must be like our John Smith.
While my main focus is here on #1 court, and thoroughly enjoying it too, I have laptop on in background keeping an eye on Rome final and hoping Rafa can dish out a bagel to Djok.;)

We did too!
Don’t know when they closed the roof but when we got inside we were surprised to see all the seats were wet and the floor damp.
Goran I. was so funny as was John M. Shame they had to rush the last match, the players were told they had 5 minutes to wrap it up - for TV schedules I suppose.
Now looking forward to July.
Was doing the Great Manchester run for music in hospitals and care so I didn’t see the coverage of court 1 or the final but did have a nose a liz and Maud’s photos from today through. Sounds like it was a great day. Now catching up with Rome :) obviously I’m hoping for a dry wimbie as I’ll be camping in the queue so I hoping to not see the roof in action lol

I was there as well, did not apply originally but got one of the returns (actually before Jamie announced participation) and thought it was great entertainment. Thought Andy might have made appearance (though knew he would not be playing) but never mind. It was Kim Clijsters who was the late addition. (announced she only got call the day before). Quite expensive obviously for 3 sets of tennis ( though Joseph Calleja was also great), but money going to charity and it’s a while since I’ve been to Wimbledon. Won’t be at the Championships this year either.
I really enjoyed the coverage - a fun afternoon. There seemed to be a great atmosphere. Well done to Kim if she turned up with only 24 hours notice!

I was happy I could watch it in Canada on their website. Kudos to them. Really enjoyed it even tho' I was looking at it on my ipad with one eye and the Rome Rafa match with the other. Kim C. is my all-time fave female player so I loved watching her. She did very well in the mixed match. The only thing that bothered me a wee bit is the female singer obviously isn't a tennis fan and I wish they could have picked someone who was.

So glad you could go James. I'm sure it was well worth it. I certainly enjoyed watching it on TV. Anything to do with Wimbledon has that certain allure about it...it has the power to pull...certainly me anyway!
