Despite being billed as a Challenger event the Mens ATP event here will draw some decent players who are seeking grass court practice in the UK ahead of Wimbledon. Other grass court events next week are on grass in Strasbourg and Den'Bosch, both ATP250s and with their own thread. There's no doubt that if you want to see British players Nottingham is a good place to go both for the Ladies and Men.
MENS DRAW
Dan Evans (WC) is top seed and gets a Bye in R1.

Some matches being played indoors now - not great preparation for grass!

Watching the scores of this "indoor" tournament it seems Dan had to work hard to beat young Jack Draper 7-5 6-3

They are showing the Ladies on Eurosport 2. I have tickets for tomorrow but have decided not to go because of the weather because it will probably take me about 4.5 hours each way travelling

Maia Lumsden beat Tara Moore yesterday for her first WTA win but lost today to Caroline Garcia the top seed.
Thanks! I had a feeling Caroline would have too much experience for Maia but at least the Scottish lass has posted a main WTA tour win up at Nottingham.

May have started slow but took control eventually ... this from Steven on Twitter.
Nottingham Challenger R2: Top seed Dan Evans wins 9 games in a row from 2-5 down in the 1st set and ends up defeating (WC) Jack Draper 5&3
Dan playing Ymer - 6 -2, 2 - 6 - come on Dan
Can’t watch it anywhere but Dan seems to be losing the third set too. Has he got ideas of going down to Queens to practise there over the weekend??
Dan back on serve in the 3rd 4-4*
Dan now with the break. Can he serve it out? Come on Dan.
Dan now with the break. Can he serve it out? Come on Dan.
Yes he can!!!!!:superman:
Yes he can. An excellent turn around. Well done Dan. Into the QF.
Dan gets the third set 7 - 5 and therefore the match. Seems like it was a bit of a struggle in the second set, but he got there in the end. Well done. :cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer:
:clap: Brilliant news about Dan! He is one heck of a fighter. Pity he is not getting more grass practice. Maybe tomorrow?

Whilst I was disappointed not to go today, I think I made the right decision. The ladies are now playing inside so no more grass play today. No refund though on tennis or train tickets.

Do you have a live score link?
You can watch the match an the ATP website under the "Challenger" button, and live scores on the App available at the same place
Ouch! Serving for the match and lost his serve! If Dan comes thru this, he will have to play again today. The opponent for that one, Go Soeda, has already played and won ages ago today! Come on Dan! Break now and win.
One set all, which means a busy and tiring day for one of them - hopefully Dan!!
Dan very cross with himself! Shouts 'unbelievable' very loudly and very belligerently! Colourful language too! He's fired up, so come on Dan.

Dan playing G Soeda now. He has just broken, so now 3:2.
He has held so 4:2 to Dan.
First set to Dan. One more please.
:clap: A neat business like performance from Dan. Into the final where Donskoy awaits.
Dan gets the win - well done :cheer::cheer::cheer:
Final at 16:30 - weather permitting.
I was hoping to watch the final on the ATP website, but they only seem to be showing the doubles final at the moment.
Evans breaks Donskoy's serve to make it 3 - 2 in the first set.
Donskoy saves two set points. Now 5 - 4.
Donskoy breaks Evans's serve to make it 5 - 5.
Dan takes first set on the TB. He's making these TB's a bit of a habit!
Dan just been broken. He's cross! Dan: "A break up in every single match. Pathetic! Very British!" Thumps the ground or anything he can thump! Then proceeds to very quickly break Donskoy again! Serving for the match. Come on Dan.
Dan wins - 7-6, 6-3 - well done:trophy::dance::dance::dance:
Makes no mistake this time. He is the champ. :trophy: Well done Dan. And now for Stan.....
Excellent result. I loved Pat’s description. A cross Dan sounds very scary:-)
Hate it when the livestream closes before the presentation. :grrr::smashed:
Well Done Dan. Thoroughly enjoyed that.
Had to chuckle when Dan said how British it was to lose the break advantage!
Very well done Dan :superman:
(And the stream almost stayed going long enough for us to see the trophy presentation....almost :grrr:)
Excellent result. I loved Pat’s description. A cross Dan sounds very scary:-)
Nearly every match he played on the grass this week, Dan was serving for either the set or the match, he managed to get broken and had to do it the hard way by winning the TB. I could see how frustrated he was as it had happened in the first set of this match and again when serving for it! I laughed when he said "very British"! Whatever could he have meant!!! ;)
Dan has won more matches than any other British man this season. Tomorrow morning Dan will be world number 63 in the rankings. He has achieved this feat in less than 14 months.
In the ATP Race rankings, which are for points gained since the beginning of this season in December, Dan is world number 34.........he leads the rest of the Brits by miles.......
WELL DONE DAN!!!!!!!
