Jamie/Neal 3-5 in the first set after Jamies' serve was broken.
BUT they've just broken back so it's with serve (Neal) at 4-5.

Jamie broken again so Kontinen/Peers take the 1st set 7'5.

And the second. Alas. Not sure how long this partnership will last.

It is early days for them.

If it's for the Olympics, they'll have to persevere.

Disappointing but fairly tight, Peers/Kontinen was also a challenge for the previous partnership. Early days of course, hopefully can get a run going in due course.

Meanwhile in the OTHER DOUBLES SEMI-FINAL

Salisbury/Ram took the first set off the Bryans 7'6(4).
Now a 2nd set tie-break so fingers crossed for Joe and Rajeev
3-3 at the change of ends and all on serve so far with no breaks ....

Bryans held for 6-5 which gives them a set point ...

6-6

*7-6 = match point for Salisbury/Ram
7-7* = a Bryan held
7-8* = another set point for the Bryans ...
*8-8 = this could go on for a long time.
*9-8 = another match point for Salisbury/Ram

Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram reach the Final of Queens with an excellent 7'6(4), 7'6(8) win over the Bryans.

Excellent. Joe has done amazingly well since finishing at university.

I wonder if Jamie is regretting his decision to say no to Andy and his metal hip now! :trophy: ;)

I actually feel sorry for Jamie. His brother, who has been out for months, had major joint surgery comes back and beats the team that took him and his partner out, and then goes on to win the tournament. It must sting.

I agree - it's harsh but I'm sure that after all this time Jamie has developed a thick skin. He could, of course, have opted to play with Andy during the grass court season!

Jamie had decided not to risk playing with Andy when no-one knew whether or not it was possible for Andy to come back and play to a reasonable standard. Yes, Andy has now shown it IS possible!
