Not the best of starts. Come on lads.

Uh-oh 0-2 Andy broken in first game & despite 3 bps, they couldn't break. Cabal/Sarah look determined not to have a repeat of Queens

Where are you watching MM?

It's only on Amazon prime. BBC only have the rights for the women at Eastbourne (It might be on tennis tv but no 'free to air')

Number 1 seeds have brought their A game so far.

1-3 Murray to serve

Cmon Murlo!

Murray’s serve has gone completely awol. 4:1 to Cabal and Farah

Mandiemoo

Murray in a bit of trouble on serve & dumps into the net to be broken again.

Maybe nerves?

Cmon Murlo!

Teresa

They need to up their game in set 2. It could be he is still knackered from last week. Not surprisingly.

Just not going Murlo's way at the moment. 1-5.

Cmon Murlo!

why are they losing so badly?

Teresa

First set gone 2:6. The lack of practice together is showing. Yippee a hold from love 30.

I don’t think they compliment each other in the same way as Murray and López did. I also think Cabal and Farah have probably been plotting revenge.

Andy channelling his inner Jamie a bit there & some excellent serving from Melo means they hold at start of 2nd set.

Cmon Murlo!

Broken to love. Murray hasn’t held yet:-(

DF for Andy, tighter than a drum, Melo is not exactly looking positive, broken to love.

Cmon Murlo!

Looks like climbing the Himalayas would be easier than Andy / Marcelo winning at the moment.

Cmon Murlo!

Another hold for AM. They are much better in this set, but I don’t think they can come back from the deficit. Unless they break now they are stuffed.

A reality check today, the Columbians on fire.

Not feeling much in the way of chemistry between Andy & Marcelo

2-6, 3-4 Columbians serve next

Teresa

I agree there doesn’t seem to be any chemistry between them. Andy hasn’t been brilliant, but neither has Melo.

Just not gelled together. Perhaps the rain delays last week helped Andy & Feli gel together

Cmon Murlo!

They have held, but I can’t see them breaking these two now.

They have had very little time to practice together.

It showed. It won’t do AM any harm not to push it. I am glad he celebrated with Feliciano, rather than rushing straight down. He hasn’t done enough of that in the past.

What a shame they just couldn't get any fluidity going. Not a good partnership but the Columbians did not want another first round exit & were very good from the first point.

Herray or Murbert?

They just did not gel. Andy and Feli was a brilliant partnership. I feel that together they could have gone far. Shame but means Andy will have time before Wimble to recover.

Just wasn't working but they did play better in the 2nd set. Oh well, another match played to help Andy get back in the groove

Mandiemoo

See, this is what happens, we get sucked right back in, totally forgetting that he has a metal hip, surgery 5 months ago!

Looking forward to Wimbledon now

oh well, plenty of time for Andy to practise or just relax now.
thanks Mandiemoo for keeping us informed.

A bit disappointing but thought it would be difficult for Andy to repeat last week's form anyway and did not seem to combine so well with Melo, of course limited practice made that challenging. Cabal/Farah made life tough and were pretty domimant on serve, coming back from 0-40 early on may have been significant. Silver lining is that Andy has more time to prepare for Wimbledon.

It was the red shirt that did it - I've never liked Andy in red!! ;). Seriously though, Melo seemed to be paralysed with nerves to me. It must have been really daunting for him to play with Andy after his success last week ......... and in front of a British crowd. No bad thing for Andy though, I think - he must be sore after last week and now he has time to re-group and, hopefully, practise with Herbert before Wimbles.

It was a pity that they drew Cabal and Farah in the first round - hell bent on revenge for last week. If Andy and Melo had had a match to settle in things might have been different. Let's hope for a better draw next week.

I was called away and had to miss Andy's match, but was able to keep in touch via here (thank you all) and livescores. I'm not in the least disappointed. Have to guard against too high expectations...too soon for that! It's enough for me he is back, he's happy and there's still so much more to look forward to. Last week was pure magic and if he never wins another thing, (not going to happen!) that will remain one of the biggest highlights of his career.

@Pat Lowe - I agree, Queen’s has wiped out the memory of that awful interview at the A.O.

Agree with most of what has been said ... apart from Andy in red ... I loved his red outfit! The chemistry wasn't there I agree but it was always going to be hard / impossible to match the magic at Queens.
