Munar/Norrie have just beaten Inglot/Krajicek taking their 7th match point in 5 sets.

Andy/Serena could play defending champions Soares/Melichar 3rd Round, reasonable draw early on. Jamie/Bethanie in other half and face Brits Salisbury/Dunne,then would be 3rd seeds Pavic/ Dabrowski.

Evans/Glasspool 4-3 on serve in the first set v Mayer/Sousa.
As I feared - Andy's and Jamie's matches are on at the same time:sad:

pity Jamie/Neal could not get it finished but hopefully in strong enough position, unfortunately Heather/Mandy go out 6-4 in the 3rd.
Can someone please tell me how they decide the seedings for the Mixed Doubles?
Pretty sure it's simply based on doubles rankings.

I saw only a little of this match but British pair Hoyt/Silva beat Paes/Stosur in 3 sets so a good win for them.

Did not see but good that Hoyt/silva went throgh 6-4 in 3rd-well done! However in resumed match Jamie/Neal Skupski in trouble, Doig/Polasek took 4th 6-1 and still break up in 5th at 5-3-come on guys!

Ah well, we don't have to worry about Andy and Jamie facing each other in doubles - and in the mixed they are opposite sides of the draw!
JAMES4578
05-07-2019, 14:28
So disappointing but Dodig/Polasek were definitely up for it today-they serve it out 6-4 in 5th. Jamie had chance on 30-15 point but hit it long, suppose still fairly early in the partnership. Hopefully Jamie can have a good run in the mixed.
Jamie/BMS win their mixed 7-5,7-6 (10-8)-well done though bit of test! Watson/Kontinen have gone through 6-3,6-2!

Ram/Salisbury[12] having it tough BUT they're up a break in the 4th set and another break could take it to the 5th. Current scoreline in favour of Kontinen/Peers[8] 7'6, 6'4, 3'6, 3'5 and serving.

Jamany break back and serving at 3-4 but not sure how much longer they'll be able to play.
Court 18 is now quite dark and they're the last match playing.
Wayne McEwen has just stopped the Mens Doubles.

Think sensible decision even if challenge resuming at that point, good Jamie/Behanie got break back- they were not keen on playing just one more game. Crucial point in the Men's Doubles too.
Jamie and Bethanie warming up now on C18. :strawberry:
Watched Hoyt and Silva earlier. They had a great win over Vliegen and Zheng.
Aw. Jamie/Beth lost. It only took 2 more games and they lost them both. Shame it had to be interrupted last night.
And now it's the turn of Joe and Rajeev to return. C12 just awaiting the players.
And we have the first 12 all TB. Come on Joe and Rajeev!
But Joe and Ram lost the TB 7-2. Such a close match.

Kontinen/Peers d Ram/Salisbury: 7'6(2), 6'2, 3'6, 4'6, 13'12(2)
Such a shame for Joe Salisbury but he and Rajeev fought very hard from 2 sets down.

Pity for Jamie/bethanie-not to be but was close contest. Knew it woukd be tough if BMS did not hold serve on the resumption. Tough loss but great fight from Rajeev and Joe!
I was gutted for Jamie & Bethanie, such a shame!!......Now watching Fleming & Hutchins!!

Mixed QF the much higher ranked French Open champions Dodig/Chan were really pushed by Hoyt/Silva. 7-5 7-6. Hoyt/Silva were a break up in each set and up in tiebreak but just couldn't hold on to the advantage but well done to them!
Just watched Hoyt and Silva. It was a great match. Although they lost to Dodig and Chan, 7-5, 7-6, they played GREAT. Really pushed the French Open champs all the way. Great effort for a first Wimbledon main draw.
JAMES4578
11-07-2019, 18:41
Great display from Hoyt/Silva, even if just pity they could just not quite get over the line in either set. However were up against formidable opponents in Dodig/Chan.

Watching men's doubles final. 4 tiebreak sets can't separate them. Roof now closed for 5th set.
They surely must have postponed the ladies' doubles final until tomorrow - it could be past the curfew before this is finished! I haven't heard an announcement though. Mahut could be part of the longest doubles match ever as well as the longest singles!!
JAMES4578
13-07-2019, 19:38
Intriguing contest, Cabal/farah has 2 bps at 4 all in 4th but unable to capitalise and the Mahut/ERV carried the momentum, remains to be seen if roof closure will make much difference.

Poor Mahut - that's three times he's been hit in one match!

Final set did not take as long even if there were a few shifts in momentum, certainly many exciting points-well done Cabal and Farah! Mahut/Roger- Vasselin certainly played their part-all credit to them too. Mahut certainly took a few knocks!

I am SO very disappointed for Team France. :crying: They had leads in both sets 2 and 3's tiebreaks and everything! :grrr: But apart from that it was a really good match.
It was a fantastic match - such a pity that either team had to lose. RV was distraught at the end and poor Mahut will have the bruises to show for it tomorrow!
Poor Mahut - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/tennis/48974800

Dodig/Chan are now the Wimbledon Mixed Doubles Champions, seems to have been a fairly routine win as they beat /Ostapenko 6-2,6-3. (4 breaks to one). Should you wish you will be able to catch it on iPlayer (UK)

I like Dodig. Interesting to see so many Chinese or Asian players dominating the doubles scene on the ladies' side.
