So Federer, Djokovic and del Potro have all withdrawn. I have tix to the semi-finals so I'm really hoping Rafa makes it there. And would love to see someone new I've not seen play live as yet, e.g. Thiem or Stefanos. But REALLY hoping one or more of the Cdn contingent get to the semis too (Felix, I'm talking to you!).
According to a BBC article Andy is going to play doubles with Feliciano Lopez. :)

I can't see any of my faves getting to the semis. That's when I'm going. I hope I do get to see some players I've never watched before tho'.

Amazon Prime have changed the way they advertise their matches. They have made it much clearer. Also showing some doubles matches today so fingers crossed!
Cameron leads 4-3 in the first set - Fucs serving at 30-30

Just realised that Kyle gets Kyrgios in R1 and IF he wins he plays the other Washington finalist and in-form player Medvedev aka Meddybear.
This looks promising, though I think ATP makes most doubles available in Masters 1000.

Dan takes first set 6-4 having broken in a long first game. Some lengthy rallies - Dan being very patient so far.
:clap::clap::clap: Dan wins!!! :swingin::swingin::swingin:
Well Done Dan, fought well for that second set 7-6!

Excellent win for Dan  I imagine it was a lovely match between these two stylish players, but hard to know when watching from that ridiculous angle. So frustrating!

Just checked live rankings - Dan is at 42, only one place below his career high of 41!
i see Jamie and Neal Skupski lost 5-7, 5-7 to Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury.

Bruno lost as well. Perhaps splitting up wasn’t such a good idea.

Darn! Andy's clutching his back again and they got broken. Bummer!
First set tiebreak
Ugh lost tb. Andy throws racquet on ground.
Early break for A/F in the second. 2-0
Meanwhile NK flamed out to Kyle in the singles. Pfft. Kept arguing with the umpire and faffing about with towels.
Andy's stopped touching his back so hopefully that was just temporary and nothing serious.
3-0
4-1
5-2
6-3 SET!
MTB. Man they should have/could have won this in straights! :grrr:
0-3
2-4 down.

8-7 A/F
8-9
9-9
10-9 A/F

That was HARD WORK!
Andy looked very grumpy tonite even after they won. But they won so that's all that matters. Now, I'm away to ma beed!
That was a good win.:clap::clap: I hope Andy's not grumpy because he's hurting - that would be really bad news. :nailbiter:

Had to go to bed when the rain delay kicked in but good to see Andy & Feli won. What an awful camera angle on the court though!
Couldn’t stay up beyond rain break. Delighted they won, and congratulations to Kyle.
Good luck to everyone today.

Woke up in the night and saw the last point of the match TB. Feli couldn't get off the court fast enough.
Couldn't hold out any longer at rain delay.. Glad they got the win, hope Andy is OK. Thanks Fiona fir detailed post!!! Well done Kyle!

I'm currently an hour ahead so these late matches are killing and I gave up at the rain break. However I woke a couple of hours later and managed to watch most of set 2 and MTB. Definitely behind the sofa time in the latter but helped by a couple of aces from Feli to calm the nerves. The reward - another late one tonight but I have to wait up for visiting family so it's actually helpful. Also watched Cam v Zverev after Andy's match. Cam played really well saving several games from 0-40 or 15-40 down. Held his own for most of the match but couldn't quite get the break.
Cam Norrie l. A Zverev 76(4) 64
I had to give up at the rain break too! Just finished watching the replay. Great MTB! Both Andy and Feli seemed really pumped to get the win. I must confess, I didn't think Andy was grumpy. There were a couple of dodgy decisions shortly after the resumption of play, maybe that irked him a little bit. And when he threw his racquet down I think he was just exasperated at himself for missing a ball. Overall, a good solid performance and a good start for them. I mean, to take out the #2 seeds...not a bad effort!:clap: Another very late one tonight! Might be another replay job for me! But I fancy their chances in this one even though Chardy and Martin are a solid pair too.

Agree with you about the camera angle, but lookit, we would have given anything for that angle last week in DC when Prime failed to show us Andy and Jamie's match! ;)

Yeah camera angle really did suck! But at least they're showing ALL the dubs matches which makes a change and is really fantastic! Good news is they're not on court 9 today! So hopefully it'll be better.
I wish I was going to Montreal today. Some great matches - Rafa, Denis, Milos, Felix. Then Andy/Feli. Man, soooooo good!
I’m cheering Dan. So nearly the first set.
With all these frequent and pesky rain delays today, it pushes Andy and Feli later and later. I wonder will they even get on court today?
Umbrellas are down and the court is being dried.
Rats. Lost it on the CTB. ☹️
Ah well - we still have Kyle and also Joe Salisbury in the doubles. I wish them all the best, and will try to watch them - Joe at 7.00pm and Kyle at around 9.00pm.
I've just rejoined the real world. Had cut myself off this morning till I had watched the replay of Andy's match. Ok, so they lost, but what a joy to see the Andy return specials and the super angled volleys. Just to see him able to do that! Bliss. I'm rather torn about Andy's return to singles (yet). I'm so enjoying these doubles matches and would love to see more. Of course I would love to see him return to singles, it would be beyond fantastic if/when he does, but is there any rush? The Asian swing might be a good time? Meanwhile, bring on Cinci in whatever format Andy plays.
Now for young Felix AA ....good luck!

Good win for Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram.
6'3, 7'6 v Rojer/Tecau.
Edmund/Fritz just starting v Bopanna/Shapovalov.
Some fascinating doubles pairings at the Rogers Cup this year.

1st set tie-break, FAA 1-3
Shame Felix lost 7-6, 5-7, 3-6 , good match to watch but his serve was not up to scratch, but a great learning curve for the talented young player!

Argh I'm sooooo sad for Felix. He could have won that if his serve hadn't been so inconsistent. And it's his 19th birthday today too. Boo!!!
Happy that Bianca won in Toronto. One Canuck left standing in singles. Denis won his dubs match so that's good!
Good luck to Rafa tonite!!!
I'm driving to Montreal tomorrow with my family coz we have tix to both semi-finals. Hoping for a Thiem-Zverev semi in one of them and Rafa in t'other but not holding ma breath!
If you're not watching Foggy and Nadal, you should be! It's sensational!
oop for Sunday https://www.atptour.com/en/scores/current/montreal/421/daily-schedule
Final not before 9.00 pm UK time.

Really disappointed that I didn't get to see Rafa on Saturday but I did see Monfils win his quarter final and two great doubles semis, but Denis and Boppy lost, sadly. Court was packed. Had fun in Montreal but I knew when Monfils limped off the court he wouldn't be returning. The rain delays were a nightmare. Highlight for me was watching Bianca win her semi during one of the rain delays. Very happy she won in Toronto, first local winner for fifty years!
Glad you enjoyed it, Fiona. I was thinking about you when I read that Rafa was straight thro' to the final. Rain delays are so frustrating and when they result in playing two matches in a day in the latter stages, they can skew outcomes.
