Slightly off-topic but although China spans five geographical time zones, it is always the same official time wherever you go in China!

Kyle serving at 2-4 against WR213 Zhang.
Kyle was 40-15 up in his last service game but then was broken!!!
Needs to focus quickly 'cos he's a lot of points to defend here.

Just noticed Dan's match is up on LS. He was scheduled to play after Cameron. Hope Cam is OK - unless he got the time wrong;)

Update: Dan has been put on a different court where there is no further play scheduled

Prime being a total pain today, but I will be watching the rugby on STV and perhaps tennis on here, if Prime behaves.

Sallydaisy

Kyle levels the match at 1-1 after taking the 2nd set 6'3.

Cam just about to start.

Evo moved to a different court but not televised! Per https://twitter.com/tennisontelly

Dan Evans v Li Zhe has moved court and is underway in Beijing, unfortunately it's not currently showing available on Amazon Prime Video

Dan took the first set 6'2, on serve at 2-1 in the 2nd.

Cam serving to stay in the first set at 5-6, looking to take it to a tie-break.
Shame because he had an early break and was up 5-3 at one point.

Sallydaisy

Sallydaisy

A very long 6th game of the 2nd set between Evans and Li with the latter having Ad on his serve a couple of times but our Breezy Brummie hung in there and eventually broke to take a 4-2 lead.

Sallydaisy
30-09-2019, 11:17
Garin is having treatment courtside, seems (from the replay) that he maybe hyper-extended his knee? He was walking quite gingerly afterwards and then DF'd at set point down. Per the LS board:
The physio has started a medical evaluation on Cristian Garin.

Sallydaisy
30-09-2019, 11:19
Li has just broken straight back!!!!! Serving at 3-4.
Dan needs to break again and then HOLD.

cazza99
30-09-2019, 11:24
Dan Evans is showing live OK on Tennis TV even though not on amazon prime so it is on a televised court.

edit. But picture keeps on breaking up. Better picture on amazon prime with Norrie.

Sallydaisy
30-09-2019, 11:25
Cam holds for 1-0, 2nd set.
Dan is battling to break Li in this 8th game with both having Ad but it's back to deuce.

Sallydaisy
30-09-2019, 11:28
Cam through to R2 after Garin retires at 7-6(5) 0-1 0-40 with an injury sustained in set 1.

I'm feeling sorry for Kyle just lately as he doesn't seem to be finding any form at all.Is it still a knee problem/glandular fever? He showed such promise at one stage but is certainly behind Cam and Dan in terms of commitment and flair right now. Doesn't seem to have much enthusiasm for the game any more. Never been the same since he moved to the Bahamas!

Sallydaisy
30-09-2019, 11:34
Dan holds for 5-4, Li serving to stay in the match.

30-09-2019, 12:16
I feel sorry for Kyle too...to always be so near yet so far. Well done Dan!! Pity they moved his match to another court, otherwise it might have been on Prime. Cam was playing well against Garin who is a very tricky and persistent player. Shame he injured his ankle, but I think Cam could have just edged it anyway. So Cam and Dan, upwards and onwards!!

Tough battle with Thiem and Khachanov , Dom was set and 3-5 down but finally come through 7-5 in 3rd- awaits winner of Zverev and Tsitsipas.

patlowe
05-10-2019, 12:25
Oh my! Domi had to fight SO hard to defeat Khachanov. 2-6, 7-6, 7-5 in 2.75 hours. Great match with momentum swinging either way all the time, but good to see Domi in the final. I really wish TV wouldn't cut off the on court flash interviews! Really irritates me!

patlowe
05-10-2019, 15:21
Very entertaining match now between Sascha and Stef. A few :smashed::smashed: and very loud roars from Sascha who will be hoarse if he keeps it up! But great tennis too.

lynne
05-10-2019, 16:10
Great match, thought Sascha was going to take the set there, but Tisitspas gets the win 7-6, 6-4 to meet Thiem in the Final.....Come On Dom!!!!

patlowe
05-10-2019, 16:14
 :grrr: Complaints Department here! As well as not allowing us to hear the post-match flash interview, cameras pull away to the crowd instead of showing us the handshake at the net! I particularly wanted to see this one given the so-called antipathy between Stef and Sascha. Saw a brief shot at the end, I think it was warm enough at the net. Intriguing match. Enjoyed it! Stef and Domi tomorrow. Could be good.

Well done Domi. So pleased he won. As Stef said, he deserved it. He had to work very, very hard for many of his wins, including his win over Andy. It was a lovely match to watch, esp those sublime SBH exchanges. I was very impressed with the interviewer. I thought he did a great job. I really enjoyed the whole tournament, both men and women. There were some great matches and the 2 singles finals were fantastic, partly because it was impossible to predict the outcome until near the end, but also for the tennis that was produced.

patlowe
06-10-2019, 14:52

Andy beaten by the eventual champion no less! Even better.

JAMES4578
06-10-2019, 15:25
It was good final, though was a bit surprised Dom was so dominant in the 3rd, still Stefannos played his part in many great points-thought it might bed difficult for Thiem to come back from challenging position again but he was so gutsy. Whilst fan of both prefered Dom to take it and Andy's victor went on to take title again!

banskogirl
07-10-2019, 21:11
Well played Dom! I'm glad he won :) Andy was only beaten by the winner! I also have a little annoyance with S'pas wandering off and making the server wait for him as he wanders off at important parts of the match.
