If Cam and Dan make it thru to the MD, I really hope that one of them is not placed against Andy (or Kyle). That would mean a Brit having to go out in R1! No thank you! All are playing so well they deserve a round or two (or three).

Certainly a pity but Kyle still appears to be struggling , whilst Chardy can be a challenge (was tough for Dan too even though he now takes advantage) Still Evans has found the better form lately. Good to see that Cameron had a fairly convincing win over Simon!:cheer::cheer:

patlowe

Get in Sascha! Get in Stefanos! Both Roger and Novak taken out on the same day! When has that ever happened before! Really opens things up and makes it so much more interesting. The shine had gone out of Shanghai after Andy left, but it has certainly cheered up a bit now. Not predictable any more!

Oh, what a night. Late September.... Oops, sorry, wrong month.... but this got me singing, great oldie!!!
Anyway, woke up to Fed losing, so managed to see the last game. Agree Pat, livens things up a bit.

Good day for the young guns with Stefanos coming from behind to knock out Djokovic and sacha holding firm in the 3rd to see off Federer (though missed chances in 2nd)- well done! looks like Medvedev was also convincing over Fognini-good stuff!

For the first time since 1999 all four semi-finalists of a Masters 1000 are 23 or under!

Anyone care to take a stab at who the last 4 were?

11-10-2019, 16:56
Excellent to have the young ones coming through. Well past time for a change and I think Fed and Nole might even enjoy the challenge next time they meet any of these players. Thinking there is still room for Andy next year too.

For somebody who was 23 in 1999 would be around 43 now.

Some interesting results today. For the first time I felt Sascha lived up to the hype, he played some really impressive stuff which was entertaining to watch. I'd like Stefanos to win the whole thing but Daniil can be a major beast, tough to even reach the final - good luck to him though

JAMES4578

3rd seed Daniil Medvedev faces 5th seed Sacha Zverev for title, hopefully a good one! Both through in straight sets, though 2 fairly close sets for Medvedev in 7-6,7-5 win over Tsitispas (though time wise was not that long) Zverev had pretty routine 6-3,6-4 success over Berrettini.

Rosalind

Medvedev was excellent but Sasha let himself down at end of first and start of second set. He needs to get that metal stuff sorted.
