I've found out, one of my relatives called Frank Fenner won the 1946 Wimbledon naval championships. Does anyone know anything about this?

Since I did this, I've contacted the UK Armed Forces Tennis and Wimbledon library to see if they've got any more information. But, I still haven't received a reply from them.

As none of the above replied, I have now contacted the BBC about it. I've asked the people, behind the TV series called Who Do You Think You Are?, to see if they can come up with any other ideas.

The BBC have now given me the contact details for Wall to Wall, who make the TV series Who Do You Think You Are?. I've already sent them an email.

As Wall to Wall never replied to my email, I've now decided to go to the general public. I've now started contacting all the newspapers.

Wall to Wall finally replied to my email and told me to try the National Archives in Kew.

I hope you have some luck. This sounds like an interesting story for you. Have you thought of trying the family history magazines? They often do some special articles. Disappointing that Wimbledon have not replied.

I found out that the National Archives do a live chat between Tuesdays and Saturdays. So, I'll try them first before looking elsewhere.

I've done a live chat with the National Archives and was told that they probably don't have any record of it and also suggested to try the old family history magazines.

I've now found out that he was living in Bridgwater two years before he died.

I've now found where he's buried and I hope to go and see his grave soon.

As it was a sunny and warm day, I went to visit his grave in Ashcott, Somerset, and took a photo of it.

That sounds nice weather day. Lot of rain here lately. Nice to get out after very very long over year lockdown and restrictions. I haven't even chance go out properly yet. Soon hopefully.

I decided to order his death certificate and it has just turned up. It says he became a secondary school teacher after he left the navy. He died from dementia, what a shame.
