Done. Thanks Xe.
well, i don't think the people who pulled the rug from under the forum feet are on my christmas card list. no one else may share my opinion, but it's why i shan't be adding my name to any card this year.
Do you mean you think that Andy, Jamie and Judy closed the other forum? I thought it was a 'Management' decision.

Sorry that you still feel so raw about that, harriet  I know it's difficult.
I thought I was over it, but was saddened by something I saw today. One of our members (who wasn't a member of the old forum) on Twitter ff'd one of the people who was instrumental in trying to get the old forum closed down (and called them a 'loyal Andy fan'), and who openly cheered on Twitter when it was closed down. I'm wondering whether to PM that member to let them know about it, or whether to let it go.

Linda, my advice - let it go. Twitter is twitter; this is a separate meeting place. Regardless of anything else some firm friendships were made via am.com and continue via twitter, facebook, this forum and others. Various people became friendly for all sorts of reasons (not necessarily tennis related) and it'd be unwise to interfere in what has to be an individual's right to choose.
Fina - Andy's Management operate the official website via a hosting company which ran the am.com forum (linked to am.com) and the closure message came from them.
Beyond that I see no point raking up old leaves; they should be left to wither and die.
Harriet - feel free to send the AMFF team a Christmas message (preferably nice!) instead .....
;)

can we not say who that is ????? think everyone here knows anyway
Best not to mention names as it's all in the past. Sorry, I shouldn't have said anything, it's just that I still feel rather sad about what happened.

Do you really think that is a nice thing to do?
'cos I don't and I hope you won't.
:grrr:
no I wont , but I just dont understand what the big secret is when most of us already know , thats all.
not gonna say anymore about it , guess this issue is still pretty raw for some
Have sent off my messages. hope you got them.

Are we supposed to do separate ones or all together? Does anyone know? Thanks.

Xenon has asked for separate ones in her post. I think it's to make it easier to separate out Andy's because we know we have a tighter deadline for his.

I dream of the day they send us a Christmas wish back. All a bit one-sided sometimes being a die-hard fan.
I know what you mean, Fiona. I see people tweeting good wishes to top players all the time, and think it's rather pointless. I do often tweet congratulations or good luck to our doubles players or our juniors, who I think might not get as many messages and so are more likely to appreciate it, but it seems pointless to tweet to big stars like Rafa and Andy who must get many thousands of tweets (though of course Andy has given up on Twitter - but I read before that he read all of his mentions! It must have taken a huge chunk out of his day - no wonder he gave up!)

I was thinking that too . Remember that book Xenon put together for Andy from the forum ??
I remember she said she had given it to him , but we never heard anything more.
As you say its hard sometimes being a die-hard fan :jitterbug:
not hard at all we all know the deal we give Andy unswerving devotion he gives us ulcers, sleepless nights and a nervous tick
