Wimbledon 2020 - who's going?

Thought I would start this thread since we have entered the new year and the tennis season is back underway.

The public ballot will begin this month, so good luck to all who have entered. I called the ticket office earlier and they said the first ballot will likely be towards the end of the month.

I hope I get lucky this year with ballot. Not have any luck over 10 years. Use ticketmaster instead but I hope get ballot ticket cos they have better seats instead of back all time with ticketmaster (for centre court).

I'm in both the public and LTA ballots so hoping for some luck in those. If not I'll try for LTA return tickets like last year - did pretty well then and got Ct3 for the first day and Ct1 for the second day, so hoping to get something similar this year. If all else fails I may queue on the first few days. Booked the whole 2 weeks off work to give myself some flexibility

Very appropriate with the AO starting on Monday. Will we be advised by email or post I wonder?

We'll be informed via email. They said you'll get an email regardless of whether you are successful or unsuccessful rather than the successful or radio silence in the past.

You can also check MyWimbledon for your ballot status, which I imagine will update before an email is received.

My partner got tickets on mens final day...but on no.1 court, so we will very likely decline. I didn't get anything, so fingers crossed for the LTA ballot.

Yes, I got an email telling me I was successful in the ballot and then I had to log into 'mywimbledon' for the details.

Sounds like there has been a 2nd batch of ballot results. Not giving up hope yet, there will probably be more yet. And the LTA one too - just renewed my membership.

On the Wimbledon voicemail it says the first phase of the ballot has been completed with applicants having up to 5th February to pay.

Correction. I called Wimbledon this afternoon and, after a long wait, I was advised there are in fact 3 main ballots that go out, so around one-third of applicants have been advised. The lady I spoke to said she thought the next one would be end February but, given the payment date is 5th February, I think the next one could go out around the middle of the month.

when I see email from AELTC though tend to think I've been lucky,not been the case so far though of course still time! Personally though with things to arrange would really want to know well before June.

Has anyone received an email from the LTA regarding their ballot? I looked on the website and they say "The LTA Members Ballot commences from 2 March 2020".

I looked on twitter, but didn't seem like anyone had got anything.

Okay, thanks. I'm not part of a club - just a member so will wait and see until I hear more. I've booked off the second week in any case, though I've got tickets to the Euros so may have to turn Wimbledon tickets down in an unfortunate case that they clash.

Well done James. I hope by the time Wimbledon comes around there will be much less uncertainty. I too was lucky in the ballot this year for the first time in many many years. I need to book flights, but not only is there the C19 crisis, we have lost the flybe routes. I'm so pleased you managed to get tickets too, James.

I haven't received my ticket refund from the LTA (Team Members' ballot) due in April so I have asked my bank to 'chargeback' the transaction.

I only had a ticket from the Public Ballot, was informed a week ago that it would take a few weeks to complete the Refund process and firmer update would come in due course.

My refund has just been processed,though may take a few days for card to be credited.

I should have received right now the refund from AELTC main ballot: there isn't yet the record line with explaination but it is highly probable that it is the refund because it was the only purchase (moreover towards a virtual card still valid)

For your info I'm italian and the refund seems in full (without losing anything from last 4 months pound depreciation).

I got my full refund last week. They said they would email in January 2021 to offer me the same tickets again :thumbup:
