Very tight first match - well done to Liam and Cam for stealing it. Bit of an upset but of course not normal conditions. Back luck J&N

The umpire warns Liam about his language, as Andy makes it 3 - 1.
Andy scraps out a hold for 4-2, and is now in with a sniff at 0-30...
0-40... 3 virtual match points.
But (eventually) Andy breaks and will serve for the match.
Game set and match Murray, 6-2 6-2!

Fairly straighrtforward for Ward against Broady earlier,Norrie came from back from losing first 6-3 to win breaker over Peniston. Andy starting fairly well up 2-1, let's go!
Kyle's coach tells him that he and Andy are both very good players, as Kyle makes it 4 - 4.

Andy with a break point... Saved.
Tie break? I did hear a clanging noise, which made Kyle do the double fault.
I am knackered. I really am out of practice for this. Never mind the players. So tie break or tie break and champions tie break.
Second set tie break. Let's hope for a repeat of the first set tie break!
I think this match deserves two tie breaks.
As long as that's all we get, I agree!
A lucky net cord and Kyle leads 3-2*.
An unlucky net cord gives Kyle a mini break *4-3.
Andy gets it back, but Kyle gets another and has two set points, one is saved...
One set all. Match tie break.
Just said a very rude word.
Early mini break for Kyle.
Errors coming from Andy now, *5-1.

That was close but Kyle rose his level as Andy's dipped toward the end. A good game, hope he can build on this.

A good match, but the right man won in the end. I think Andy might have been feeling a bit fatigued. Looking forward to Andy's match against Ward, as Ward said in his interview earlier that it'll be the metal hip vs the dodgy knee.

Well done Kyle  A slightly weary Andy edged out of a tight match but I liked what I saw. Give it 8 weeks intense training and I give him a good a chance as anyone at the US and postponed French, where the whole field will be rusty. 18 months ago we were in bits about Andy retiring and here we are looking forward to him playing (and potentially winning!) two slams in the space of a month. And all it took was a metal hip and a global pandemic :big grin: Funny old world. I wonder what Mr Lendl is up to in September  Don't @ me, I can dream! :)

Certainly a quality match, pity for Andy but he ahowed a lot of his skilll in the 1st two sets but looked fatigued towards the end, credit to Kyle for some impressibe shotmaking on the run and he showed was up to the challenge today, even if he had a few shaky moments.
Still positive and impressive for Andy but nonetheless a challenge in the months ahead (a bit of uncertainty for everyone though)
A really competitive match and just great to see Andy back on the court. A pity it wasn't a win for Andy but I hope he will be pleased with how he played for the majority of the match. Very entertaining .... well done to both players!

Never change Andy, never change!
C'mon Muzz!
Andy admitted that he was feeling tired at the end of his interview. I'm not surprised considering what he's been through.
He’s sounding very tired. Hope he’s not in pain.
**** James has broken him. Well done to James, but not what we want.
Andy gets frustrated as his serve is broken.
I’m half hoping James wins (sorry!) because Andy seems so tired and I’d hate him to injure himself or give his hip more trouble. He’s done well to get this far seeing how little tennis he’s played and he can’t really be up to top match fitness.
I hate to see him struggling like this.
No one can hold on to a break! Back on serve.
"Do the best you can" Delgado tells Andy, as Andy breaks back.

goodness me, Andy is no fit! never seen him panting so much! certainly needs a day to recover. and so odd, no crowd, no noise, no atmosphere, sure thheir concentration must stray.
well, another day, another dollar! ice bath for Mr Murray, let's see you back on court on Saturday.

Andy struggling at times but some marvellous points in the crucial moments, though so gruelling in several exchanges. Certainly James acquitted him self well but tightened up on some of the chances and could have put Murray under more pressure.
My link went down, just before the end of the match, so I had to rely on BBC radio five live sports extra. The commentator believed Kyle could play Paul Jubb in the semis. I've read Andy plays Dan tomorrow.
I think he plays Dan on Saturday- luckily he has a day off now.

Evans/Glasspool through to final with 7-6,6-3 win over Edmund/Ward, Kyle/James lead 4-1 initially but Dan/Lloyd turned it right round. In the singles Kyle beat Broady in straights and Dan won in match breaker over Peniston ,whilst Cameron routed Paul Jubb 6-0, 6-2.
Jamie/Neal have an early break and up 4-2 on Salisbury/O'Mara, keep it going! Pegged back but Murray/Skupski take the 1st on breaker-come on!
Not so good in 2nd as Salisbury/O'Mara take it 6-2 , so into match breaker- let's step up!

Interesting comments from Martina N about Andy. Said he looks pain free but can see recovery on right side not what it used to be. Movement used to be such a big part of his game but now he'll have to rethink his style/strategy and go for bigger shots, more aggressive play. She adds that he's perfectly capable of making such an adaption. I agree with her. Fed restructured his game under Edberg very successfully. I look forward to seeing Andy doing the same - he's at his most exciting when being aggressive so looking forward to more of that.

A few breaks a piece in early stages but Evans stepped it up and more solid as he takes first set 6-3, also using greater variety to good effect.
Dan takes the first set 6 - 3
Dan takes the title - 6-3, 6-2 ..... well done. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :trophy:
so Andy lost to both finalists?

Kyle broke at start of 2nd but little impact afterwards, Dan pilling on the pressure and Edmund had tendency to overhit. Still great match from Dan with his skill on display.:clap: Maybe not Kyle's best day but had some good wins this week. :cheer:

Certainly some great tennis throughout the week, well to done to Jamie who done great job as Tournament Director, Mary Greenham (Martina Navratilova's agent) and all those involved in some way. Tbh hoped for a bit more from final but Dan played very well, no match breakers today but we did have soime exciting ones!

Bad luck to Kyle. Congratulations Dan! A sweet win, I'm sure. Wonderful to see him fulfilling all that talent :bravo: And what a brilliant week for tennis fans - so lovely to have some light relief to offset the sad and mad stories that dominate the news these days. Can't wait for more - from all the Brits but especially Andy, every moment he's an active player, even between tournaments, feels like a miracle to be treasured. I certainly intend to, anyway!
Thoroughly enjoyed Dan v Andy. I was torn. But pleased for Dan.
What a fabulous week of tennis!! Well done to all the players and especially to Jamie :clap:

Really enjoyed this event. Well done to Jamie and everybody involved in the organisation of it. So great to see Andy back on court and he got better with every match. That first set against Evo was smoking. Saw him rubbing one of his shins while he was in James' corner this afternoon, but hopefully it is only a niggle.
Aside from seeing Andy, what struck me the most was what high quality the tennis was and what a fantastic bunch of GB players we have now. Dan has taken himself to a whole new level , I'm so pleased to see him making the most of his undoubted talent. His fitness work is really paying off, with him showing great speed around the court. Well deserved win for him
Nice to have some live tennis to watch this week. It is going to be strange tomorrow without a live Wimby but looking forward to watching some classic matches

Who would have thought that Dan, after April 2017 having been given a 1 year ban for a failed test and eventually restarting with a ranking up to nearly 800, he would be ranked in the top 30 and be Britain's no.1. All credit to him
More Brit battles ahoy!

Brilliant news and great that the British women are also getting some matches. Big credit to Jamie for organising another event
Brilliant news about the BBC showing the British Tour between the 23rd and 26th of this month on their Red Button, website and app. Also, them showing the Tie-Break Tens next Friday between 5pm and 6pm (17.00pm and 18.00pm).
