Really enjoyed watching Fedal 2008. What an incredible match, and Rafa receiving the trophy in the dark is a truly iconic moment to re-live. Obviously we all miss the live action but Wimbledon is such a wonderful event and given us so many memories, the next fortnight is still going to be a lot of much-needed fun.

Going to watch Henman v Kafelnikov at some point - wow, that was a thriller. Hoping also to find Bailey v Ivanisevic - a heartbreaker with the 2nd serve ace to save MP but we were on the edge of our seats. Although Andy will always be our fave it's good to remember we had fun before him and will after as well.

BBC (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/53007200) - Wimbledon 2020: BBC TV to show classic finals, rewinds & Andy Murray weekend

Wimbledon Rewind day-to-day listingsAll times are BST and subject to late changes. Programmes are repeated on the Red Button and available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
Monday, 29 June - BBC Two, 13:30-16:30
A chance to relive the 2008 Wimbledon men's singles final between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, which many consider to be the greatest tennis match of all time.
Tuesday, 30 June - BBC Two, 13:30-16:30
Today's trip to the Wimbledon archives features two finals featuring four great American champions: Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert's classic 1978 final and Venus Williams and Lindsay Davenport's epic 2005 final.
Wednesday, 1 July - BBC Two, 13:30-16:30
The flamboyant Andre Agassi's baseline game did not seem a natural fit with the grass of the All England Club but in 1992 the 12th seed made it through to the final, where he faced the big-serving Goran Ivanisevic in a match that lived up to expectations.
Nearly a decade later in 2001, Ivanisevic had to rely on a wildcard to compete but the world number 125 came through the draw, breaking British hearts by beating Tim Henman in the last four. Ivanisevic played Australia's Pat Rafter in a rain-delayed final which was completed on Monday, in an atmosphere that will never to be forgotten.
Thursday, 2 July - BBC Two, 13:30-16:30
In 1985, Boris Becker, then an unknown 17-year-old, battled his way through to the Wimbledon final to face Kevin Curran, who had beaten Stefan Edberg, Jimmy Connors and defending champion John McEnroe. Could the German make history?
Becker's compatriot Steffi Graf already had five Wimbledon singles titles when she faced Arantxa Sanchez Vicario in the 1995 final. The Spaniard's indomitable spirit meant that Graf was never going to have it all her own way.
Friday, 3 July - BBC Two, 13:30-16:30
Time to rewind to one of the most famous days in British tennis history - Virginia Wade's clash with Dutch player Betty Stove in the 1977 Wimbledon final.
Ten years later Ivan Lendl, who had won three of the previous five Grand Slams, took on Pat Cash, who was looking to become the latest in a long line of Australian Wimbledon champions.
Monday, 6 July - BBC Two, 14:15-17:15
BBC Sport turns the clock back 40 years to 1980 in today's classic Wimbledon finals, which feature four tennis legends and the most famous tie-break in history.
Evonne Goolagong Cawley had won the Wimbledon title as a teenager back in 1971, and the popular Australian, now a mother, was looking to win it again nine years later. She faced another fans' favourite in American Chris Evert, who was aiming to lift the famous Venus Rosewater dish for the third time.
The men's singles final that year featured the top two seeds, with ice cool Swede Bjorn Borg up against fiery young American rival John McEnroe. Borg had won the Wimbledon title for the previous four years but 21-year-old McEnroe had claimed his first Grand Slam at the US Open the year before, and now had the Wimbledon singles crown in his sights.
Tuesday, 7 July - BBC Two, 14:15-17:15
American Billie Jean King came into the 1969 final looking for a fourth consecutive Wimbledon singles crown. She was up against British hope Ann Jones, who was looking to avenge her straight-sets defeat by King in the final two years previously. No left-hander had ever won the women's singles title at Wimbledon - could the 30-year-old from Birmingham make history on Centre Court?
Fast forward 50 years to 2009 to watch Roger Federer attempt to regain his Wimbledon title against the big-serving Andy Roddick. The Swiss maestro had beaten Roddick in two previous Wimbledon finals but his American opponent was in no mood to be rolled over a third time.
Wednesday, 8 July - BBC Two, 14:15-17:15
A chance to relive a couple of great Wimbledon finals - the 1993 rollercoaster involving Steffi Graf and Jana Novotna, and the 1975 classic between Jimmy Connors and Arthur Ashe.
Thursday, 9 July - BBC Two, 14:15-17:15
Having battled her way back from serious illness and injury in 2012 could Serena Williams clinch a fifth title or would former junior champion Agnieszka Radwanska deny the American?
Pete Sampras dominated Wimbledon in the 1990s, winning the men's title six times in the last seven years of that decade. In 2000, he was chasing a piece of history because victory would mean a 13th Grand Slam title, thus breaking Roy Emerson's long-standing record. In the final, Sampras was up against Pat Rafter, who had his sights set on becoming Australia's first Wimbledon singles champion since 1987.
Friday, 10 July - BBC Two, 14:15-17:15
A look back to last year, when the singles finals brought together top seeds Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer, and former world number ones Serena Williams and Simona Halep.

Just finished the Henman v Kafelnikov match on Wimby YouTube channel. Great memories of watching it on TV, trying to keep a toddler entertained while I leapt up and down like a maniac. The toddler is now 25 and loved watching Tim tonight as she remembered all the times I used to watch him a she was growing up.

Amazing to really see how the game has changed over the years The glorious serve and volley grass court game was so gorgeous to watch. No towelling down between points (when did that become a thing?), sit down after the 1st game of the set, no hawkeye and no Andrew Castle commentating. I did enjoy Bill Threlfall and Mark Cox - both very knowledgeable and no prattling about celebrities in the crowd. Come to think of it they didn't show any celebrities so there's another difference

Our sports channel TSN is also showing classic Wimbly matches for the next two weeks but I asked for the 2013 men's final to be told they are not allowed to show it, so I am mega disappointed.

Yes the Henman/Kafelnikov match certainly was entertaining and a few contrasts with both the tennis and commentary! Seem to remember Greg towelling down a bit though.

That's a real downer, take it TSN do not have the rights. Hopefully still enjoyable Wimbledon matches though.

Do you have a copy of it on DVD? There are loads on EBay. You would need a multi region DVD player though. Would be quite happy to buy one and send it over if it’s any help?

Thanks Teresa, but we don't. And that was the problem when I tried to source the DVD. :( Was hoping they'd show it on tv so I could keep it on my PVR.
Thanks so much tho'!

I was at that final. Lucky enough to get a ticket at 5 p.m. the day before. Still believe this is one of the greatest finals ever.

The oldie commentators on the Wimbledon Rewind doing my head in! Such stuffy comments! Bring back Bouncy all is forgiven. I feel I will never moan about the modern ones again.

On a positive note- really enjoying seeing the old matches. Remember so many if them. I think they are making the best of this sad time.

I'm finding the old commies a bit of a mixture. I enjoyed Bill Threlfall & Mark Cox, but John Barrett commentating on the Doohan/Becker match sounded awful to the modern ear. So condescending to Doohan and mansplaining the game in such a superior fashion to us thicko viewers :dunce:

So here in Canada we've been treated to a few Wimbledon oldies inc. the 1980 Borg McEnroe final and the '93 final between Jana and Steffi. I can't get over how different the tennis is from back then to today, so much serving and volleying for one thing. I found it hard to follow the scores because there were no scorelines on the screen and the British commies hardly said anything. Here, the ESPN commies talk sooooo much even during points.

I watched the BBC 2013 men's final on the link Hawkeye provided and there is such a difference between the BBC commies and the ESPN ones. Firstly, can't stand Becker. But I honestly think the Americans (Johnny and Pat McEnroe, Chris Fowler) were way more excited about Andy winning than Castle, Henman and Becker. But it was cool to see the beginning with Sue barker and also cool to see what was going on during the changeovers because here they stuff those full of commercials.

One thing about the 'old' coverage, how difficult it is to pick up the white balls on the screen compared to the yellow ball. (Since 1986)

The wimbledon website talked about digital enhancements but the picture quality on modern broadcasts is far superior. That said have enjoyed watching some of the older matches. Venus Williams v Lindsay Davenport 2005 judged the best Women's final by BBC pundits and it also won the public vote. With pundits Virginia Wade v Betty Stove 1977 2nd and Martina Navratilova v Chris Evert 1978 3rd. Public vote here https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/53048847

We will find out about the Men's finals tomorrow.

Nadal/Federer 2008 had commanding lead in public vote with 39%, Andy's win over Djokovic 2013 2nd on 19% and Borg/McEnroe 1980 3rd on 17%. Not too surprised at winner but thought might have been a bit closer. Now we've found out Andy/Novak only finishing 4th with pundits ( obviously it was not the closest contest but was inspiring and we seen plenty drama) and again Fedal finishing top, Borg/McEnroe 1980 2nd and Ivanišević/ Rafter 3rd. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/53052577

Me too. My favourite Wimbledon moment is obviously Andy winning but the vote was abut the best match and I thought the 2008 final was that, very closely followed by the 1980 Borg/McEnroe one
