2021
Time for a NEW thread to keep us up to date with TV coverage and live-scoring!
We'll add more information as it becomes available or changes.

LIVESCORING - ***UPDATE***
For those not already aware - the very useful App for all ATP/WTA tournaments has stopped. See extract from media at the bottom of this post.

There is an App for ATP livescores here: https://www.atptour.com/en/apps
You can also access Livescores on the ATP website - there is a Black drop across box at the bottom of the main screen for "SCORES" and "LATEST" .

The WTA doesn't currently have a Livescore App so you can only follow matches via Livescores on their website page.

***NEW LIVESCORE APP***
TNNS, available though your App Store, covers ATP/WTA and Grand Slams

MEANWHILE - you can try these sources: Flash Score, Resultina, Tennis One

WATCHING TENNIS

GRAND SLAMS:
Australian Open - Eurosport (pcm fee)
French Open - Eurosport (pcm fee)
Wimbledon - BBC1, BBC2, red button (600/601) and sometimes BBC4 (and i-player)
US Open - tbc

ATP - most events are now covered on Amazon Prime (pcm fee)
WTA - most events will now be available on Amazon Prime (pcm fee)
Amazon Prime is has gained the rights to most of the ATP and all WTA main events so it may be worth signing up for it to follow the majority of tennis this year. It looks as though they're committed to the 1000s and 500s but not all the 250s.

CANCELLATION OF THE ATP/WTA APP (|ProTennisLive) 24.12.20
There is uproar from avid tennis fans on learning that the popular ATP/WTA Live Scores App, the game’s leading leading mobile results app, is being axed for 2021. The App, produced by EDH Tennis Limited, was launched a few years ago and is available in 19 different languages on the Apple store, serving as the official live scoring app for both the ATP and WTA Tours, as well as providing play schedules and match stats for all the pro tournaments. Despite its popularity, tennis chiefs have decided to scrap the App because of ‘changes to the data feed’, which apparently make it no longer feasible.

“The ATP and WTA have announced the discontinuation of the ATP/WTA Live Scores App across all mobile and desktop platforms. As a result of changes made to the data feed, the app is no longer able to support the technical requirements of both the ATP and WTA,” a statement reads. “From today, mobile users will be redirected to the official ATP App, the home of ATP Live Scores which offers an enhanced user experience, and to a dedicated WTA Live Scoring page on wtatennis.com. “The ATP and WTA remain committed to exploring opportunities for alignment across digital products.”

Thanks Jan, I suspect that's what I access using the drop across box but I've seen that there's also an App. I'll add some links as and when I find things.

If anyone wants to add links or price information I'll add to the first post.
We'll probably keep general chat off this thread so it's easy for folks to find information.

Thanks Cazza, that's most of the ATP and all the WTA main events.

I think it is some of the 250 events that Prime are not covering.

edit. I think they have amended this list since I posted - a few more of the 250s that are on soon are now on there.

edit again. Need to look at the far right column. As it says Y or N depending on if covered by Amazon Prime. There are lots of 250 tournaments listed but have an "N" in the right hand column so they are not being covered.

I read that the plan is they cover all ATP but there are possibly still some television rights needing to expire before they can do that? Can't remember where I read it though ...

I think Amazon Prime are doing the same that Sky did. US Open, 1000 Master series, most 500s and a few 250s. It would be great if they started covering the other 250s too.

UPDATE ON HOW TO WATCH TENNIS - from the ever reliable Tennis on Telly

Grand Slams
Australian Open, is exclusively live on Eurosport, BBC has some highlights week 2.
French Open live on Eurosport in full from qualifying week; there is single-court-coverage on ITV.
Wimbledon is shown free on the BBC with all courts streamed online + selected qualifying matches.
The US Open is on Amazon Prime Video with qualifying and all-court coverage available.

ATP Tour
You will still have a choice between Amazon Prime Video and Tennis TV for men's tour tennis. Tennis TV will have coverage from every ATP event while Amazon Prime Video's deal includes all of the Masters 1000 and 500 tournaments plus approximately thirteen 250 events.

If they take place, the ATP Cup, will be included in Amazon Prime Video's coverage, while the
ATP tournament in Adelaide will come under Eurosport's deal with Tennis Australia.
Eurosport also had coverage from Geneva in 2019.

The tournament at the Queen's Club in London will be on the BBC.

The ATP only make doubles matches available to broadcasters at Masters 1000 tournaments.

WTA TOUR
The only place to watch the majority of the WTA Tour will continue to be on Amazon Prime Video as WTA TV is not available in the United Kingdom. Amazon Prime Video will have all singles and doubles matches at the WTA tournaments it covers.

Notable exceptions to Amazon Prime Video's WTA coverage are expected to include Nuremberg and Linz, plus British events in Nottingham, Birmingham and Eastbourne where rights are sold separately and these are expected to continue on Eurosport.

Other events
The Olympic Games will be broadcast for free by the BBC and September's Laver Cup in Boston will be shown by Amazon Prime Video.

Great Britain's tie with Mexico in the Billie Jean King Cup - the new name for the Fed Cup - will be on the BBC, but there is no information on other ties and the finals which were postponed from 2020.

Eurosport secured a 2-year deal for the Davis Cup Finals in 2019 and, with 2020's event postponed, this is expected to continue into 2021.

ATP Challenger tournaments and many ITF-level events are streamed for free online. The higher levels of these events in the UK are expected to be available on the BBC's online channels, and almost all domestic competitions are streamed on the LTA's social media channels.

What to subscribe to:
By far the cheapest way to watch most tour tennis is to take a subscription to Amazon Prime for the year at £79. If you aren't interested in all the perks of Amazon Prime and just have the Video option that's £5.99 per month and works out slightly cheaper over the year.

If you are interested in watching more ATP 250 tournaments than are offered by Amazon Prime Video, you will also need a Tennis TV subscription on top of this but for most people, Amazon Prime Video's ATP coverage will be sufficient.
For the Australian Open and French Open, you'll need a subscription to Eurosport Player for full coverage. This currently costs £39.99 for a year's pass or £6.99 per month. If Eurosport retain the rights to the British grass court WTA events and Linz, you'll need this subscription for four full months. For the Davis Cup finals you'll need a fifth. If you keep Eurosport for six months, for example if you are interested in other sports shown on their channels, then the year's pass becomes cheaper (unless there are other offers available). Eurosport Player is available standalone or as an add-on channel in Amazon Prime Video (https://www.google.com/url?q=https%3A%2F%2Famzn.to%2F34kaBeg&sa=D&sntz=1&usg=AFQjCNHf_LrEYCtPElywsMav9gZ9NA0wJQ).

Our calculations put the cost of watching tennis in 2021 at £100.84 (11 months Amazon Prime Video + 5 months Eurosport Player), no change from 2020.

Remember you’ll need a TV licence to watch Eurosport, the BBC and ITV in the UK, even online.

Disappointed not being able to watch Andy's match against Sinner, l am thinking of getting Bet365 for the rest of the tournament.

Can someone tell me how it works ? How do you set it up, do you have to watch on laptop or can you watch on TV, do you have to watch match live or are you able to record or watch match replay, thanks

Hi Jackie, I have bet365 and I only ever got it, years ago now, for watching Andy. You must deposit at least £10 but then you don’t need to use this. Just keep that balance and you can watch matches. They are only available live and I watch on my windows laptop or iPad. It should work on a smart tv but I haven’t tried. It is hard to get it full screen and requires a lot of jiggling but I’m still happy with it when I have no other choice. You need to give credit card details which I worried about originally but I’ve had no problems. It’s still a bit weird for me to have a betting account :rolling:

Having said all that, I think Stockholm is also on tennis.tv but I’m not sure how it works.

It turns out that tennisTV is returning to Samsung TVs sometime in February.

They just say amazon fire TV update coming soon.

It has been discontinued on some devices such as googleplay and android TVs - "due to a change in their technical providers"

I have contacted their support team for more info.

It looks like amazon had said they re not going to continue with the tennis, before Sky has said they are going to take over.

Something else at the end of the article indicates that ITV contract for Roland Garros terminated last year. I like their coverage. I hope they renew.

Eurosport has the exclusive rights to show both the Australian Open and the French Open, after ITV’s deal with Roland Garros chiefs ended in 2021 after ten years.

Not surprised that Sky planning get tennis back from Amazon. Amazon done poor job with tennis streaming cos they are so hard to find and there so many complaints about it online even though they did improve last year but still not as good to find matches you want watch etc like Tennis TV or Eurosport or BBC (with Wimbledon).

It shame cos I can deal with rubbish layout format from Amazon cos it got other benefits other things to watch films and TV series, I can binge watch series before month is up, it is much better deal than Eurosport. I never see tennis on Sky since I don't know anyone have Sky.
