Andy isn't currently down to play here - his current ranking doesn't allow him into the Main Draw or Alternates List so he would require a Wild Card to get in. Dan Evans, Kyle Edmund and Cameron Norrie are on the Entry List(s).

Djokovic has withdrawn from Miami.
Novak on Twitter:
Dear fans, I’m very sorry to announce that this year I won’t travel to Miami to compete. I decided to use this precious time at home to stay with my family. With all restrictions, I need to find balance in my time on tour and at home. I look forward to coming back next year!
Chris Clarey:
Miami Open men's event turning into an ATP 250. No Nadal. No Federer. No Thiem. No Wawrinka. And the biggest hit: No Djokovic. The only multiple Grand Slam champion in the field: Andy Murray, who needed a wild card
banskogirl

Andy just take it. It won’t go down on paper as a 250, it’s still a 1000 and you play who’s on the other side of the net. Djokovic would take it if he didn’t want a break.

Miami tickets...
Just had a look at ticket prices for the Miami Open. Utterly insane prices for the latter stages, in particular. Some tickets for the men’s final are more than $2000. That is ridiculous.

Them charging nearly £1,500 just for the men's final feels like they don't want anyone to turn up and watch it!!
Don’t think there should be any spectators with the rise in COVID -19 infections in the USA.
Don’t think there should be any spectators with the rise in COVID -19 infections in the USA.
Overall the USA is steady with the daily increase of cases, still too high in my opinion but at least not increasing. However, Florida, especially Miami are just ending "Spring Break" and there has been crowding on the beaches, no precautions. So there are definitely hotspots. I think spring break ends this weekend.
I'm surprised they are allowing spectators immediately after this, as they have been so careful in other locations.

Racket I have. I'd still need to quarantine when I get there, so if you could ask the ATP to delay my matches for 14 days then I'll be on my way. Seriously, some local youngster ought to go for a LL spot, you never know who else might drop out

Worrying that he can just pick up a random groin injury during training. I really do wonder if Andy doesn't soon think, is all of this effort worth it. Normally, I'd expect him to carry on until they have to drag him off court, but with all the covid protocols as well, shouldn't he just stay home, play with the kids,,and get a job with the LTA or Wimbledon.
Maybe he's been working on baby number 5... :pirate:
Poor Andy ...... he does seem to be bedevilled with injury. Such a shame! :crying:

Not the most thrilling of finals but well done to Herkacz. I didn't have any preference at the outset but once HH went a set and 4-0 up I'm glad he won - would have be a nightmare to lose from there. Looking forward to the bigger names coming back.

I quite enjoyed the final ,even if not one of the most exciting ones. I was rooting for Sinner however felt he faltered at the end of the 1st and Hurkacz took advantage. The 2nd looks like being onesided but a combination of likely nerves and Sinner's fighting spirit made it more competitive. Just a bit too big a gap for Jannik to overcome and Hubert regrouped. It was a bit surprsing that Rublev was the only top 4 seed to reach the semi, had hoped Tsitsipas would have done better.
