Andy suggested he might play here before going to Miami but he'll need a Wild Card to get into both events as his ranking currently wouldn't get him into the Qualifying draws. It's been suggested that he'll have a practice week comming 8th March rather than opt to play in ATP250 or Challenger ... but he was at home welcoming baby Murray mark 4.

Sonego has only just started his singles match so this will be some way off starting because he'll be entitled to 'suitable rest'. Maybe another 2 hours or so? Depends on whether he and Karatsev go to 3 sets ... in which case about 3hrs for the doubles!

I think they're usually allowed 1/1.5hrs to recover before starting a doubles.

Aslan Karatsev is already closing in on a seeding at Roland Garros, now firmly into the top 40 with his first ATP 500 semi-final in Dubai.
He is 13-0 against players not named Djokovic or Thiem.
Karatsev was ranked #253 12 tournaments ago.

Shapovalov is also through after beating Chardy (another older player having a resurgence!)

There's one heck of a battle in Dubai between Harris and Shapovalov.
Tiebreak for the 3rd set and 6-6 after Harris failed to take his first match point at 6-5

Karatsev took the first set 6'2 and Rublev has only just held serve for 5-4 in the 2nd set.

Rublev managed to break and take the 2nd set 6'4 but is now in trouble in the
3rd set where Karatsev has a break and is serving for the match at *5-4.

And Karatsev wins ...

What a different Dubai this is ...
No seeds in the Final, Harris is a Qualifier and Karatsev a Wildcard.

“I didn’t know what happened. Neither did Dominik. We just heard the crowd. I guess the lights started shaking and the crowd felt it more than we did. We were running around the court, so we had to play a point during the earthquake,” Zverev said


Players who were off court felt the earthquake to a greater extent. Ken Skupski and Neal Skupski had recently won their doubles semi-final against Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury. Neal had just laid down on the massage table when the quake hit.
“It was really strange, that,” Neal said. “I actually thought it was some massage technique that he was doing, because the bed was shaking. I just thought it was normal. Then an alarm went off on his phone and that’s when I thought, ‘This is a bit strange.’ Then he said, ‘We’re going to go outside because of an earthquake.’ I couldn’t put my clothes on quick enough to get out of the building.
