QUEENS!!!
It may go through various sponsor name changes but it's always Queens to me.
;)
This year The Cinch Championships (!) are delighted to welcome back five-time champion Andy Murray, British No.1 Dan Evans and 2017 doubles winners Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares.
https://t.co/fQFHTwVALf?amp=1

As ever many of the top players jostle for places at either Halle or Queens, both ATP500 events which start 2 weeks before Wimbledon. For many it means they can book into a rented house for potentially 4 weeks in London (if they make the Final of the best Grand Slam) and enjoy being settled for a while.

That'll be different this year as Covid sets restrictions on where they can stay ...

Many top players have not yet committed to either London or Halle - among them Djokovic, Nadal, Thiem and Tsitsipas - so there may yet be some interesting Wildcard choices.
;)

The Queens Qualifying Entry List is below - a few them might also be interested in a Wildcard!
1st Alt is Tsonga, Liam Broady is 9th.

Not a stellar line up so far but if there’s Andy and Evo, I’m happy ... as long as I get to see one or both of them ;) Hoping Tsitsipas gets a late wild card too.
Disappointed to see Grigor on the qualifying list! As a former champ, you’d think they’d give him a wildcard!
Gill and I are going Weds 16th

Possible Andy won't make it to Queens ...

I was hoping that was untrue.

That’s worrying - especially given Queens is only a few days away.

Hope he will be okay to play. He’s got a chance to have a good run there

Where is Schwarzmann?

Doubles field much better quality than the singles.

I read in the Times Andrea Gaudenzi is trying to upgrade Queens or Halle to a 1000 event. On this year's partcipants it is a no brainer, plus which Halle has a roof.

Maybe Halle has better facilities for the players onsite, a bit like the snooker in Milton Keynes. To my knowledge there are no decent hotels near Queens, or Wimbledon come to that. Eastbourne is a different story.

Huzzah, it's not only time for Queens but it's an odd numbered year so just maybe this is the point things start falling into place for Andy :peace: In 2013 he had a terrible clay season, which saw him skip RG to protect his back but we all know what happened once he got on the grass. It makes a massive difference and I wish him all the very, very best as he takes to the lovely green stuff this year.

Hope everyone going to Queens has a brilliant time! :)

Given the Met Office weather forecast I doubt we'll see much tennis being played today at Queens! It might ease up sometime after 3.00pm ... but they might have abandoned play by then. Here's an update from Cinch an hour ago:

Unfortunately, it's still raining.
There will be no play on any court outside before 2pm
and the wheelchair singles today has been cancelled.
Wheelchair doubles will be played indoors from 2pm:
Bailey/Houdet vs Egberink/Fernandez
Followed by: Hewett/Reid vs Gerard/Olsson

BBC2 is now showing an old black and white movie version of KingKong!
Why on earth couldn't they show a previous Queens Final with Andy Murray winning it???

All the Brits so impressive today. Cam beats Jack in a high quality match, and give him as good a chance of going all the way as anyone left in - he's so confident. Jack a hugely exciting prospect for the future. And bravo Dan - just pipped by a player many are tipping to win Wimbledon.
