View Full Version : WIMBLEDON 2021, Tickets thread. LTA Ballot ... not
LTA have announced that there will be no ballot next year as they have already announced that 2020 ticket holders will be allocated the seats that they won this year. Of course that is only fair but still sad.:crying:
There will still be the LTA members ballot.

Received some information from Wimbledon today, at the moment a reduced capacity championships considered the most likely scenario but too early to be certain at this stage. Allocations for those successful in the Public Ballot last year will be confirmed at the start of May. A survey to guage opinion was attached , some of the questions asked included the likelihood of considering a different court or different day from originally allocated. They also asked how likely you would be to defer till 2022 if it was an option.

Word that those who were successful in the 2020 Ballot will now be offered the same day and court in 2022, rather than for this year's championships ( likely to be limited crowds this time) Indeed there will be no queuing and all ticket sales for 2021 will be online likely starting in June, more details later.
As someome who was fortunate in the ballot last time I am quite happy with the arrangement, even if wish could have been different. However the proposal makes sense to me. https://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/news/articles/2021-03-18/2021-03-18_update_on_the_championships_2021.html

I just get very long email from Wimbledon about this so this good news for me. I also have 2020 ticket too. I think that is fairest option since 2020 ticket ballot is full house and it not possible get full house this year (2021) and that means some people have to lose their ticket (that be unfair) so it best move to 2022 be safe side so everyone have chance rebuy 2020 ticket in 2022.

Hi all
I've received an email from the LTA advising on how to register to apply (through them as an Advantage Member) for tickets for Wimbledon.
Instead of running a ballot for members this year, there will be an online Advantage ticket sale this month, similar to AELTC's online sale (https://click.lta-tennis.com/?qs=ffd097b02c39f1474a3ec88fb4e47ee2e8e3a9d2b40aae 5ed703acf58b30a8353f4cfe5101a6947183062bc8e3ecb607 ba1a1261d7324a17a770417391111af0). This is an exclusive Advantage sale and as you're AdvantageCompete , you can now take the first step towards getting hold of a pair of tickets.
Tickets will be available from LTA Tickets and a link will be provided to you in advance of the sale. A queuing system will be in place to access the site, as we're anticipating a high volume of traffic.
To ensure fairness, each eligible member will have the opportunity to purchase* one pair of tickets only, due to the very limited number of tickets available.
The on-sale date is still to be confirmed, but don't worry, we will email all eligible members holding an LTA Tickets account 24 hours before the sale starts.

Just read that Wimbledon and euros will require COVID tests before and after, for Gov data. Was going to try our luck with online sales but not so sure now as getting tests could be a bit of a battle.
I cannot see anything about Wimbledon. The Euros require proof of vaccination or a lateral flow test taken within 48 hours according to Sky News and the BBC website.

Ditto re vaccination and lateral flow tests. Only problem as I see it is that if lateral flow test required I think these have to be done at a centre so you have the actual evidence of negative test confirmed.

The information says .."You will need to share your additional ticket with your Guest (if you have purchased a pair)" and further on "You may purchase up to two tickets" and then "Can I buy a single ticket or must it be two?
You may purchase a single ticket. Please ensure you select the single ticket option upon purchase."

Not fussed on seeing Djokovic who is a cert for Centre but would they put wildcard Andy on Centre? Maybe depending on who he draws.

why not buy a pair and invite your favourite Forum friend ? I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem finding one, although I got a pair of tickets for the Olympics at Wimbledon and couldnt find a soul to go. I tried friends, friends who are tennis players, work colleagues, relatives, friends of friends, tennis playing friends of friends. In the end I sold them to a lady to treat her son.

Beginning to wonder if they are going to be able to sell all the tickets with the controls they have put in place. So many people missed out on getting a code either due to not having selected the marketing preferences on their MyWimbledon account or missed the emails from AELTC and the LTA telling them need to pre-register for the 2 sales. I totally missed the LTA email in my inbox on 3rd June  and now they've closed registrations so I can't buy via the LTA even though I am an active member and they have tix left. Seems a bit daft.
Whichever route (LTA or AELTC) due to the pre-registration requirement only the same people who were trying for tix yesterday can try today, but you can only buy for one day so if you were successful yesterday you can't buy again today
Perhaps there will be enough people who weren't successful yesterday who will try again today but there hasn't been much publicity about it. Just checked my emails today and no more info sent out but if you're logged into MyWimbledon it's possible to see the sale is due to start at 2.30

Little sympathy from me, the rules are perfectly clear.
Bit harsh though, the three of them had individual access codes, but used the same card to pay for them. But, as you say, if they'd read the rules then they would have realised that you couldn't use the same card over multiple bookings.
I rang the AELTC (unsuccessfully) this afternoon to enquire about vaccine proof. The idiots haven't realised the NHS is devolved in Scotland and Wales and in Wales we have neither an NHS App nor the non digital letter so I'm trying to get an answer as to whether a letter from my GP will suffice. Anyway, whilst listening to the recorded message, it seems tickets will be available in the Wimbledon app 48 hours ahead of your date of visit.

I posted this on Twitter:
Did anyone in Wales buy tickets for 2021? If so how are you proving your vaccination status given Wales is devolved and its' residents cannot access the NHS App (England only). Have Wimbledon given any sensible advice on what will guarantee access? @Wimbledon (https://twitter.com/Wimbledon)
And got this by way of one reply:
It’s not just via the app. The entry requirements section on @Wimbledon (https://twitter.com/Wimbledon) website tells you all the different options
119 or you can show sms or email confirming negative lateral flow from previous 48 hours. If I couldn’t access stuff on site or app I’d do a test day before and show the sms confirmation

I just tried checking my NHS app information to show my husband but it came up ‘not currently available’. Going to be fun if it’s not working next week! Just wondering too, if you have a lateral flow test kit with a reference code at home, what is to stop you sending a result in without actually having done the test? You then get an email sent back that you can show or does it have to be an official test done elsewhere?

Yes - quote from an AELTC email sent to punters yesterday:- "If you are unable to provide evidence of your vaccination status, you can still gain entry to The Championships by undertaking a free Lateral Flow Test, which can be self-administered at home or at your accommodation in England, and report your result via the NHS Self-Report Tool. You do not need to be a resident in England to upload your result using the NHS Self-Report Tool. The test needs to be taken within 48 hours of your entry to the Grounds."
So this might be the way to go from Wales (from a quick look at the nhs.uk website it seems as if the 'home test kits' are available for collection at sites outside England - sites in Cardiff came up - is Cardiff in Wales?)

I tried copying and pasting the correct date into the field and despite appearing to accept it, when pressing the submit button, it asked for date of birth. This MyWimbledon account is really um well I'd better not say the word or I'll get banned from the forum. It's so glitchy. The Manage Benefits option keeps appearing and disappearing on my laptop. Cleared internet history and tried different browsers but it's consistently unstable. At the moment I can't access Manage Benefits at all on my laptop but did earlier. I can access it on my mobile phone if I'm on the app and follow the Manage Benefits link.
I have my ticket in the app but it has no seat number or even gangway number. Lots of others reporting the same on Twitter yet other people do have seat numbers. Ticket also doesn't show my name so I don't see the point of the photo ID needed (unless that's just to match against my COVID status). I hope someone at AELTC is taking notes about all the glitches to improve this for future years

Looks like another TM sale brewing (T-48hrs type) - initally for Amex holders but seems to include a blank 'General Onsale' box below the Amex timer. Link is TM website + /wimbledon-amex.
There is still this ambiguity over whether it is a 'two tickets per day' rule or two per tournament (it's a lawyer's nightmare). As others have pointed out it is risky to buy more than two per tournament from TM. I have not seen anyone reporting a cancellation having bought two LTA Advantage and two TM - I remember reading one twitter lady reported she phoned the ticket office on the exact point and they said it was okay.
This TM sale will be the usual "day before" sale, no?

Now on Wimbledon ticket page. If you have an American Express card you can try for tickets 48 hours beforehand at 10 a.m. There are strict restrictions but if you were unsuccessful in the AELTC ballot, this is another avenue to purchase tickets.

Just tried registering Fentiger again, successfully this time and got access to ticket portal. Joined a queue for 4 mins and could have bought tickets for days 1-3, mostly courts 12 & 18 but certainly offered court 2 on Tuesday - can’t remember what else but if anyone is desperate to go, there is still availability. Might not be any matches on outside courts though - weather forecast not great.
I had a look earlier this afternoon and could have had Centre Ct on Monday, Ct 1 on Tuesday as well as outside ones. I was tempted but still wary about travelling to London so didn't take it any further.

I was lucky to get 2 tickets with LTA for Friday 2nd on court 2, l got nothing on MyWimbledon :crying: My son-in-law got 2 tickets for first Monday on no. 1 court using his Wimbledon code but my credit card. Received email yesterday saying about returned ticket, so l waited 2hrs 15mins in the waiting room, once l was let in was able to see Centre Court for first Monday, l added 1 ticket to the basket when l was told that l have already purchased tickets and it closed me out, but l haven't purchased any tickets with Wimbledon  l didn't either get to the point of card details where l was going to use a different card, so really annoyed especially after finding out later that Andy will be playing on Centre Court  Nightmare trying to phone Wimbledon just keep getting a long message and then cut off

That is very frustrating Jackie, know some are obviously very happy to go to Wimbledon Anor but others are more wary. The weather forecast for London not great in the first week but need to see(obviously not much of a problem if you have tickets for Centre or No1 court).

Sorry to hear - it might be your LTA tickets if they have been loaded into your myW a/c - the system then thinks you have already bought 2 and won't let you buy more. CatherineAllitt had tweeted on 25 June she had spoken to the AELTC ticket office and they said it was fine. It might be unintended consequences. AELTC are saying (email yesterday) - "A person is defined as any of the following - name, email address, ticketing account, payment card. If you and another member of your household both have myWimbledon accounts, have separate email addresses, and use separate payment cards, then you may each buy a pair of tickets". But many people have the same name (eg. John Smith) and myW uses an email address as a logon (so I don't understand how two myWimbledon accounts could have the same email).

Apologies if this is the wrong thread, but we've just managed to get tickets for no1 court on saturday and now i am trying to find out about parking - does anyone know if we can just get in to a car park on the day? The official site isn't very clear. Thanks for any advice!

I believe you have to prebook because Church Road is closed. I think it will be difficult to get into the car parks opposite Centre Court but you may be able to get a reserved space in car park 10 which is towards Southfields. Good luck. Don't take pot luck.

Not sure if this is happening this year, but most years I've been I've parked on a local residents driveway. They cost no more than the official car parks, and are very well organized. Victoria Rd (or Avenue) is close by, I always try there. Its an option if You dont prebook the official car park

You can park and pay on the day. There should certainly be plenty of room in car park 10 as there is no queue this year. Advise arriving early as we got there at 10.20 having pre-booked but the queues to get into the grounds were very long and we missed the first 7 games of Evo’s match.

Another option at St Mary's Church - https://www.stmaryswimbledon.org/news/tennis/ - although it is about 10mins walk away so other car parks are closer

Centre court tickets for today popped up last night but I couldn't book the time off work in time.
For those who can travel last minute it's always worth checking for returns after around 7pm.

MORE TICKETS ???
https://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/tickets/index.html
HOWEVER - BEWARE!!!
Please take note of the important points below:
- It is very important to us that tickets are fairly distributed throughout the Fortnight, and we are able to reach as many guests as possible. As a result, unlike some of our previous sales, the maximum allocation of tickets is two per household, in aggregate, for the entire Fortnight of The Championships 2021.
- A person cannot buy more than two tickets, regardless of their address.
- This limit will take into account of any tickets already purchased for this year's Championships.
- If you have already purchased tickets, any additional tickets you now buy will be cancelled.
- This helps us combat ticket touts and works towards doing all we can to ensure a fair distribution of tickets, to ensure as many guests as possible can enjoy The Championships.
From Wimbledon ... it won't please everyone.
"The AELTC is pleased to announce that, from the Quarter-Finals onwards, we will welcome 100% capacity crowds to Centre and No.1 Court. This will make them the first full outdoor stadiums at a sporting event in the UK since the pandemic began."

Today a friend of mine received an email saying her tickets had been cancelled due to a breach of the rules. Two hours later they issued an apology saying that the email had been sent in error. In the meantime she had made alternative arrangements but is unable to cancel the tickets in MyWimbledon!
