Oscar Otte (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oscar_Otte) could be a banana skin for Andy.
The tall German, who came through Qualifying, is full of confidence having toughed out a 5-set match in R1 against Rinderknech. "Oss"/"Ozzy"/"Otter" is currently ranked #151 with a career high of 129 in 2017. That year he won his first Challenger Singles title, his 2nd title came in 2020 - both on Clay. He has a few Challenger doubles titles too - none on grass.
He's 6'4" tall and serves bombs - when he's playing well - but is still a Challenger level player. However, he proved in R1 that he's capable of playing 5 setters and winning on grass, but can he do that in back to back matches? And against Andy Murray?
Otte's 27, & his ranking has been up & down from 200's to 130's. He's probably never faced a returner like Murray. Optimistic.

Tough game but Andy finding a bit of a higher level and can hopefully find something extra as crowd responds, up 2-1. Otte though proving tough once he got into it (of course with some help)

Hoping words with team and regrouping session will help as roof is closed. I can't believe we are having another saga.

Yeah.
Reminds me younger Andy before he was stable with results. That Andy keep going up and down until eventually get experience and practice be more stable winning regularly.

Andy certainly rolled back the years tonight. It was a mix of bliss and torture! So happy for him and long may it continue. He's a constant source of amazement and joy. Can't find the words to properly express my love and admiration of him. :worship::clap::clap:

Oh it's really too bad he gets Denis next. One of my faves is going out in the third round. Darn!

Fabulous fightback from Andy and really stepped up under the roof, being much more proactive and just having more authority. Some sublime shots reminiscent of old and classic way to finish it with the lob. Great entertainment in the end, however I wonder if Andy will recover sufficiently for the match with Shapovalov but obviously hope he will find a way and compete effectively. Credit to Otte who played his part and rose to the ocassion on centre stage.
Absolutely brilliant and totally bonkers ...... Roy of the Rovers stuff!! :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo: Very well done, Andy!

What a legend..... What a match..... It's so nice to have that sore "Murraycoaster yelling at the TV" throat again!!
How amazing was that!!!! I didn't think I would ever see Andy in a 5 set match again, yet alone win it.
When he came back from the break for the roof, he was magnificent.
Otte was no slouch and what a good match from him. I don't think he could believe the magic of Murray!!!!

Another nerve-wracking, emotion sapping Murraycoaster. Playing 5 tough sets is such an achievement. So glad the crowd woke up and played their part. What is it about the roof, it definitely brought about a change in Andy and the atmosphere. I was practically demented throughout and so happy and proud when he hoisted that final lob. Well done our champ. Whatever the future results at Wimbledon I think we can safely say that Sir Andy Murray is back.
:clap::worship::party:
Fantastic! I thought Otte played way above his ranking. He played like someone ranked in the top ten or top twenty.

It was just like the old Andy. In fact it reminded me a bit of his first Wimbledon match under the roof where he beat Stan in 5 although that did finish considerably later than 10.30 and the first four sets were all opposite to last night, Andy winning 2 and 3 instead but ended up with the same result and was also a real rollercoaster where Andy played too passively and had to step up. The crowd then was amazing but last night it was probably another level considering the reduced number admitted. I felt absolutely drained after the match and can hardly imagine how Andy must have felt (or be feeling today, definitely in need of a rest day I'm guessing). Shapovalov will be a massive challenge but who knows what can happen. Didn't Cam beat him recently and he didn't have the support Andy will get. Andy definitely appeared fitter at the end than on Monday when he was struggling with his service deteriorating and more, but will obviously need to step up to win on Friday. Am I dreaming of Andy in 5 at 10.45, one can only hope, to Andy nothing is impossible!

Still smiling this morning, so, so happy for Andy! I'm sure there's a lot of media sources having to re write those headlines! By the end he looked like he'd never been away, hating every point he lost even when they would be impossible for anyone.
Hoping and praying he's feeling amazingly good today. It really is such an unknown but last night must have given him so much courage to push. I received a message this morning from a guy in church who has lots of pains, just saying he's considering getting a new hip not sure how much it would help him with his tennis though..
:jitterbug: cannot wait for tomorrow!

I read in one article that Andy is Otte's favourite player and icon, and I think there were elements of Andy in his play - not just another boom boomer!
