Whaaaat???? Kyrgios has withdrawn!

I've just come on to post that! What a pain!

Does Andy get a walkover? I suppose it depends on how early he withdrew. They only announced it as the people were filling the stadium

I was really looking forward to this.

Nick has withdrawn due to a left knee injury.

They are saying Andy will probably play a qualifier - but may not be tonight.

They're doing a draw to see who Andy plays. They will then decide if they still get this court or are moved, depending on who the player is

Commentator not able to say who will be on court next - we just have to wait and see. If Andy is playing tonight it will be against a qualifier. In the meantime we have Sweet Caroline:)

As if one player pulling out doesn't mess things up enough, they might move matches on other courts around too.

Well it's out of our control so I'm just going to read my book while I'm getting peace. Hopefully it won't mess Andy around too much. Pretty wick if this is the first he has heard and was ready to come on but they will hardly have someone ready to jump in to the mix.

They're saying they might also change court, depending on who wins the draw to play Andy!

Qualies only finished few hours ago so I would think it won't be till tomorrow now.

Andy will play N. Rubin - its up on Live Score - but no sign of them on court

exislander

it says umpire arrived so should be soon. Rubin only lost to Pouille in 3 sets less than an hour ago?

Jane

Actually i think the umpire has been there since midnight(at least I think it was her) and she has now vanished!!

She's back, but not in her chair.

Short and sweet and totally unexpected! Andy beats Rubin 6-2, 6-0! Will be a big surprise to folk later!!

Well done Andy, not easy to adjust at such short notice to an unexpected opponent but he was clearly up for it and a win is a win! He took just 58 minutes to see off an understandably weary Lucky Loser Noah Rubin who, only an hour earlier, had lost a long 3setter to Pouille.

Thread title changed and posts moved over.

Sfayed awake to watch Andy. Was a bit concerned before start as it wasn't clear who or when Andy would play. Happy that match went ahead and Andy won. After wobbly start he went from strength to strength. and won easily. No stress for fans for one match at least.:big grin:

Well that was calm and stress free :) I went to bed when Andy was sailing and hoped for no shocks this morning!

He really showed his empathy in the on court interview and he knew, which the commies didn't even mention, that Rubin seemed to be struggling with movement. He didn't even move his left leg for Andy's last shot. Off course he knew the writing was on the wall by then anyway

:bravo: Andy, still appreciating every minute you're on court!

Suddenly remembered that a few weeks ago my husband accidentally took out a free month's trial of Amazon Prime!!
So I am appreciating watching Andy's match now. (Sadly I think it runs out today.)

They sometimes offer a cheap extension! Always worth a phone call to them. They are very quick to offer, if you say you forgot you had it last month or something!
