The prior match has just levelled at 1-1 between Pouille and Schnur.
So, Andy probably not on court for another 3/4 hour.
Time for tea!

1-1
Andy put Popsys serve under threat but the Canadian held.
Muzzh then held to love.

First set to Andy 6-3
Andy takes the 1st set! And will serve first in the 2nd. Only following on fs but seems to be playing brilliantly. x
Andy broken at the start of set two.
But gets broken on his serve!
Come on Andy break back please: was hoping for a relaxing 2 setter!

Shame there were so few people in to see it.
Isn't he a star? Two nice, quick sets for us and onward to quarters. Brilliant, Andy.

Absolutely brilliant  No day off after a tough match but puts in an even better performance. Finally getting the wins and sharpening up before our eyes. Love the more compact, punchier serve. Real progress. Keep going Andy! :cheer:
2 days in a row, 2 good results. Brilliant! A very comfortable match to watch, in his own words, he played a "smart match." It's so heartwarming to hear his on court interviews, he sounds so positive and upbeat. He seems to be in a good place right now. Loving the optimism. :bravo:

Great to see him back working his way around the game of his opponent - interesting to hear him say how it’s starting to come back to him again!
And his confidence rise again. And his body feels good he says!
And best of all we get to see him again for the third time this week! Hurrah

I enjoyed the match as well. So happy to see him moving more freely around the court again. Glad he has worked on his serve as well. :knight::bravo:

Absolutely! Loving how he’s starting to get it back and as always his on court interviews are so honest and open. He talks as if the public will understand. More than most commentators. Well done Andy! So happy here!!
I am going to watch the match today, when my minder has gone shopping. When does he play next?

Not playing today, as the rest are catching up! So I guess tomorrow.
Glad you are back home and on the mend :flowers:

Whisper it quietly ...
Victory for Andy in Metz on Friday (against Hurkacz or Pouille)
would put him back inside the world's top 100
