Might Andy be wanting revenge…?

Murray v Monfils would make an exciting final. Two old men trying to prolong their careers !

I don't believe it. That was Andy's set all day long, though same story as the other day - great play to create chances but can't take them. Hubi knows he's been let off the hook and will play with more freedom in 2nd. Tough but doable - c'mon Andy :cheer:

Horrible, horrible match. Hubi couldn't believe his luck at the end of the first set while Andy furious with himself. Contrasting emotions then colour the 2nd. Only positive is that Andy is playing well enough to beat the top guys, even if he is lacking the clinical finish. Galling though, when Andy desperately needs and wants to get on a run.

He gave him a run for his money and as always the tennis gods were not favouring him. He really needs to nail these close encountered first sets! x

Shame. Shame.
Andy’s serve dropped second set.
I do think this is about practice and match play and as long as his body holds together he will continue to improve and fine tune these blips.

What a disappointment, it does seem a shame/habit that Andy gets so close in the first set and then fades a bit in the 2nd, really hope he can improve on that!!

Hmmm. Great fight from Andy, serving fantastic. Clearly the first set was crucial, can't resist the feeling Hubi stole it! I do like Hubi (just not today), but as far as Andy is concerned, I remain ever positive and ever optimistic. I think there are very good signs there. Go home now Andy, enjoy your bairns for a few days, and we look forward to seeing you in the USA. So good to know we have all that to look forward to.

Whilst disappointing Andy's play in the first set was encouraging for the most part , however a bit frustrating he missed his chances which seems to have become a bit of a pattern lately. Hopefully he will find a way to step up in the key moments,at least the physical side is positive.

Aw well, he was robbed! Just needs to seal these business ends. The only way to sharpen up these matches is to keep playing so hopefully it will all click into place very soon! I think Hubi is lovely but enough is enough.

Well done Andy :clap: we still had a lovely week!

Andy is getting better with each match he plays. If he keeps going like this he will continue to progress. Baby steps, it takes time and match play.
