The penultimate event of the season and almost last chance for players to jockey into position for the ATP Tour Finals. Especially possibly for Cam Norrie whose new ranking sees him as seeded for the first time at a Masters.
;)
Singles - Dan Evans and Cam Norrie. Andy would need a WC for entry (Champ 2016)
Doubles - Salisbury/Ram, J.Murray/Soares, Evans/N.Skupski
(separate thread for doubles upcoming)

A busy day for us.

Dan vs Bublik 3rd on Court 1 (play starts at 10.00 am)
Got a dentist appointment at 11.00am so might miss the start of Cam's match
Andy has drawn qualifier Brooksby, who reached the semis in Antwerp. One of the toughest of the qualifiers.

OH NO not again. When will he get an easy start?????
I was keeping my eye on qualies results and the ones I hoped Andy would avoid; guess who was top of that list? (sigh) ..... x

Brooksby is good but he's no Alcaraz. Andy has been playing top 10 tennis, top 5 even. If he continues to do so he'll get through tonight comfortably enough, but hopefully not too easily because if he's to get more ruthless he needs a bit of a test. Looking forward to the match. Go Andy!

This seems to happen to Andy a lot - he loses to those who win or do really well!
And long may it continue, Hurkacz next, who Cam needs to lose.

Did y'all know there was a Meddycoaster???
Medvedev was up 5-1 and 3 set points vs Ivashka... who then won 4 games on the trot to level at 5-5 before committing 4 UE's to be broken again and Meddy serving it out to take the 1st set 7'5.

Koepfer keeps going, has taken the first set 6'4 v Hurkacz and is going toe-to-toe in the 2nd set which is all on serve. The German is about to serve to stay in the 2nd OR take it to a tie-break decider, *5-6.

Djokovic wins in Paris and ends the year as World #1 for the 7th time.
Didn't see too much of the match - had it running on the laptop - but was too busy watching Scotland beating Australia at rugby!!:cheer:

Really enjoyed the match. Phenomenal week for Novak securing the no 1 for record breaking 7 year and overtaking Rafa to become master of masters. The goat, end of.

Good quality encounter, Medvedev certainlty started well but Djokovic responded strongly was too good in the end. Felt Danill gave a bit away in some pf the key moments though.
