Ugh, first set Rublev 6-4. He looks like a skinny twiglet but taking the cover off the ball and Andy doing all the running, only his serve keeping it competitive. Andy has to get creative and find a way of throwing the Russian off his game. Come on Andy, you can do this :cheer:

Not the best TB from Andy but overall Rublev was just a bit too strong and a tricky matchup. Still good effort from Andy the last few days and positive moving forward.

:crying: Didn't enjoy the final that much to be honest, too much flat clubbing by Rublev and too much desperate scambling by Andy to be enjoyable. But just a nasty match up, it happens, a hugely encouraging event for Andy on the whole. Roll on the new year. Til then, Merry Christmas everyone.

I really wanted that as a well deserved early Christmas present for Andy but he can be well pleased with his performance overall.
Go home now and enjoy a family Christmas, you've earned it; the postponement of BOTB meaning a welcome longer break before Australia beckons.
