Andy has taken a Wildcard into this event.
It'll be his last chance for warm-up matches ahead of the AO.
Dan Evans will be the 3rd Seed.
British players in doubles are:

The event runs from Monday 10th and with the Final on Saturday 15th January to allow participating players a day off (Sunday 16th) before the AO starts on Monday 17th January.
It's a 28-man draw with Byes for the top 4 seeds.
The draw ceremony will be 16.30pm (05.30 UK) local time on Saturday 8th January.

Andy Murray will play a qualifier or special exempt in the first round in Sydney. Dan Evans has a bye. This tournament will be on Tennis TV only as it currently stands.

Ok, I have to ask. What is "special exempt"? :whistle: Seriously, I haven't seen this before. :shrug:
That's usually for players who would normally have to had gone through qualifying, but because they went deep in a tournament the week before they couldn't make the qualifying tournament.

Andy needs to approach this next match fully switched on ( and others), not thinking he should win because he used to beat these guys easilyin his hey day.

Kyrgios is out as has tested positive for Covid.

Dan won 6'2,6'3.
However, his potential opponents match was cancelled due to rain and will be played first up on Thursday.
Hence Dan's QF will be n/b 8pm (10pm UK) against either Cressy or Lajovic.
Also, explains why Andy is scheduled ahead of that on the showcourt.

If you click the right hand link I gave it takes you to their website.
I just did that and it has a big blue box saying TennisOne and immediately underneath that are the videos. You might have to upload their app - it won't let me play them on my ageing laptop.
It's a new site to me too, I used up/down/sideways arrows to scroll through the vids.
